- Hope and I decided to build a tiny home bike camper for a homeless guy.
We built the entire super light weight tinyhome camper out of our camper van in a parking lot.

When he takes off his shoes and gives them to the guy along with the bike-house. And my heart grew three sizes that day. 💗
People say that we need more people like you... But, here's a tip... Instead of wishing we had more people that performs a miracle, you be that person that performs a miracle.
The only design flaw is that the back is just open and the stuff might slide out. Maybe a net you can hook and unhook on the back could prevent that issue.
I’d like to see a locking door put on the back; also so his stuff can’t get stolen.

I agree that it needs some thing for the back so stuffed don’t slide out or when it rains it will be protected. I also like the lock ideal but the only thing will be missing and that the case then a vent so when he’s inside you can get air and ability to peek
@@venetiakelley The materials would be easy to smash through if someone wanted but I do think either a screen door or a net is a good idea.
I cried, watching this made me remember myself, and I don’t ever want to beg for anything and I’ve been building my trailer but the reality is overwhelming and too long to explain. I’m glad the world still has blessed people like you! ❤

@@buildersblueprint hello, the foam insulation is the best idea ever. Also, the frame. How much did you spend on the build, not including the supplies?
Better to make a frame out of aluminium and stretch a material over it. Slightly thicker canvas would be a good choice. Canvas is much more sturdy, protects against wind and rain better. Also, canvas can be removed or rolled up 1/2 way from the sides so that breeze can blow through.
That is an excellent idea. It needs something to protect from the cold weather and to stop stuff falling out.
Instead of talking about it, how about do it.
Yes and put a door on the back so things do not bounce out nor will anyone be able to readily five finger discount for themself’s!
I agree. We have gazebos like this and long term tents. Just have a flatbed with lockable storage drawers, the frame and canvass. It does need to be light weight to be moved as quickly when needed.
Canvas breaks down in a shorter period of time than the foam board does, also the foam board is R75 Canvas would be around R2...R75 insulation is wind proof and you can add a skin to it that is waterproof and seals out the elements.

Very cool. If you do another one I suggest you glue the foam pieces together, although I would still use screws to hold them while they dry. Also, when you do use screws on foam if you put a fender washer under the head of the screw it works a lot better.

@@buildersblueprint you can also use wood glue and bed sheets to "fiberglass" it before paint to and some structure just look up poor mans fiberglass to see what im talking about
@@danpit2001 poor man's fiberglass is good. But you can use landscape cloth for a near seamless and even cheaper build. I just watched that one and I have ideas now 🤣

Great job! Just one suggestion if you do another one. Use glue on the edges or better support all corners with 2X2s and screw into those. Screws will not last just put into foam. With wind and vibration they will quickly loosen. Foam isn't meant for holding screws.

When you fitted the foam panels, it would have been good to fit repair washers with the screws, thus reducing the possibility of the screws working into the foam.

You need a back door or side door. How much did the whole thing cost to build. What's the total weight? Did you guys put at least 1 LED light inside. Any reflectors on the outside so the guy doesn't get hit at night? How long did it take you guys to build the camper (excluding paint) Great idea for the less fortunate.
We spent US$430 on the entire build.
Unfortunately, we ran out of funds to continue to build it out better, but we are currently looking for people to donate so we can build another one for another person. It was extremely light weight too
@@buildersblueprint I have a regular 9 to 5, not making any money off TH-cam. I watch to support channels like this. I consider that donating. Our time for watching channels like this is money for your channel. I think it's worth asking the gov to allocate a portion of our tax contributions for your efforts to support the less fortunate.
That was the nicest thing I love when I see people help people. I'm homeless in the motel but I consider myself blessed have a roof over my head and I still Little People everyday. Might have no moneyyou can still help.❤

Being homeless myself I personally know the struggles of being outside 24/7 n giving this to someone on the streets is a world of dofferents to the homeless community the struggles are real thank you on behalf of the homeless your truly making a difference how much dose it cost to build your own?

I love this, but I really think he needs a back door on it to keep his stuff from falling out, and keep it safe. Also, couple of tips for you from a builder, and house renovator... When you go to the big box stores; they usually have a bunch of lumber which is slightly warped or has cracks, or bumps that are marked waaay down... Might want to peruse that before you buy the full price stuff... 2nd thing is, when you're putting the panels together, I would definitely hit the joints with some glue, in case the screws come through the foam. Another great gift for a homeless person would be a little solar lantern with a small solar panel...especially if it has a usb port, so they can charge their phone while they sleep.
