great video. if you are curious about bicycle campers you should search for "Fahrradwohnwagen" (german translation for bicycle camper) or "Fahrradwohnwagen Treffen" ---bicycle camper meetup" you can find tons of videos of people building vlogging and doing meetups with bicycle campers.
It was an excellent video, well done!!!! 2 THINGS TO MENTION : 1. I believe you can add two more smaller wheels in the front, so that it wont hit the road or anything and probably add a lot of stability. 2. Prolly you'll gotta paint the exterior with wooden paint so that the creases don't show that much . KEEP UP THE NICE WORK HOSER 🤟
No one is a fan of sponsor ads, but I give you credit for the most unique way of adding sponsor content I’ve seen. A double of yourself over the video content is a brilliant idea.
@@davidmrule This is just the third video of yours that I have watched. You are not afraid of BEING yourself. You are funky (izzit OK to use a word from the 70's??), funny, love corny jokes, and toss a in a bit of self criticism. You are human, and not trying to be something you are not. Keep it up. You make the journey fun.
the whole time i couldn't stop looking at how low the front end was and was thinking "hope ya didn't hit any pot holes, DIPS or random speed bumps" lol But amazing work!!!
Few obvious alterations to make this better. 1 - the hitch needs to raise the front up. 2 - parking legs/chocks that allow for levelling to keep it from moving when it is being used. 3 - sealant around the inside (especially the front edge - you can see daylight). But its a great design and brilliant video. I even like the ad section 😂
You did an amazing job! I'd recommend some lightweight trim to act as a bit of bumper all the way around the trailer to prevent anymore little accidents from doing damage to the shell. I also recommend a small swiveling wheel or two on the front of the camper to keep it from dragging when you hit a bump.
The small swivel wheel is a BRILLIANT idea. A swivel wheel would not only keep the front of the bike trailer off the ground, it would help during turns. @DavidRule, are you reading this??
I just found your channel and I have to say, you are brilliant!! You're smart, witty, and loaded with charm & talent! Kudos to your parents for raising such an amazing young man! I enjoyed this video and can't wait to go back and watch your other videos!!! 💛💙💜💚
You need to put smaller wheels in the front because look at the camper it is tilting and will fall you need to put wheels so it will not damage the camper Keep Up The Great Work!
Painting the light color on the inside was a great idea, it will make it feel bigger despite being small. Then you just do a wood trim and accents to make it feel cozier!
As a Canadian, I'm quite impressed with how fluent David is in our language. We 100% speak precisely like that. Quite an excellent interpretation. AMAZING build as always.
Wow I'm super impressed! Great channel. Fun to watch and very educational for non carpenters like myself who love woodworking. BTW, I'm Canadian and that was a great accent Bud!
I love the trailer. I miss Pinedale as I am from Cody and lived in Casper and Rock Springs (I know)… i camped north of Merna all the time… but I transferred with the job to Texas (I know again) so I just ride my bikes since I retired (I am 63)… building a trailer like yours is damn tempting. Awesome build and video… Yeehaw!
I saw bike camper, 3 mins in I said DREW BUILDS STUFF! then not long after, awesome you “drew” the inspo from him hehe .. your funny Canadian was damn near spot on to the stereotypes too😂👌🏻 wicked job kid 😁
I want this camper really bad! I might try to use this video to follow this build and build my own. Also, love the cheesiness throughout the video. I genuinely laughed out loud at the David Goggins bit.
Thank you so much for this video, this would be a perfect project for my son and I to build this summer. We would probably use two wheels in each side.
For future builds, I'd recommend building the camper and THEN placing the wheels so the wheels sat along a more balanced fulcrum point - it wouldn't sag so dangerously close to the ground at the front end.
Entertaining though the camper isn’t leveled when riding, it’s clearly uneven when riding. During the entire time I’m trying to figure-out how it didn’t break with just a pothole or even a stick, not to mention how you were able to sleep in it. Other than that minor error which can be fixed, not too bad.
You could have added swooped fenders that just attach around your frame and would make your tire more aerodynamically just better so you don't have the drag of the frame around the wheel
It needs a wheel on the front cos it's nearly dragging, it'd also mean it would be stable without the bike when you want to park it. Maybe get one of those big castors.
I came across this video randomly. I was hooked at "They don't know me son!!" Instantly subscribed! Great video, and great build! Keep up the good work David :)

About a decade ago I built myself a tiny one person caravan. The first few times I used it I woke up with a bad headache. I determined that there was not enough airflow and a buildup of CO2. A small 12V fan from an old computer power supply solved that problem. It also got rid of the condensation on the inside of the roof.

The front is VERY low to the ground indeed... Here in europe we have very frequent speed bumps/ramps/ That bike would be DESTROYED by those
Put Caster wheels up front also have a good metal bracket which will connect to rod of seat rather than seat which will not take toll on your seat ...
Yeah, I was concerned about how close the front end was to the ground.
It's be destroyed off-road too. Just shortening the gooseneck should be fine.
the front is so low due to the structure not being strong. Should have had a dedicated frame just to stiffen the hitch.
