  • This is a video of the engine removal on a 2007 Kawasaki brute force 650 irs which is exactly the same set up as the 750 cc brute bikes. Stay tuned for a teardown video in the near future.
    Thanks for watching.

    Great vid, thanks for the instructions. I am taking the engine out of a 2004 cat 650 V2. The manual says to take all the brackets and bolts out and then lift the rear of the engine and slide if as forward as possible to then have room to take the rear driveshaft out. tried that for a long time but not enough room to get the rear driveshaft out. Have you ever had to take the rear diff out and slide it back to have enough room? thanks so much!!

    Hey Doc. I’m actually putting my motor back in and have a question about the gear position gear that has the 2 little nicks that you put the shift linkage down over it and should be in neutral. I did that and went to try to shift the gears but it won’t go all the way up too low range. I don’t have the clutch or belt on at this time……Does the clutch side need to be on to shift through the gears? I stopped where I’m at in case I needed to go back in. My carbs are still off as well. Help me Doc!

      Have you tried shifting it while you're spinning the secondary clutch shaft?

    Like your videos, I have a question ❓ I got a 2002 prairie 650, hasn't been run for 15 years. I rebuilt the carbs because they were locked up from sitting without draining the carbs. Got it running but it is smoking like crazy. Would appreciate any help or suggestions. Bike only has 20 hours with 220 miles on the engine, was running fine before it sat.

      Run it for a little and see if the smoking slows down any. Sometimes the rings can stick when the sit and will free up after they are run a little. Also check the air box to make sure there isn't any oil in it.

      @@FourwheelerDoctor will try running for longer, didn't run for very long because it was smoking so bad. No oil in air box this bike still looks brand new. Thanks for the help.

      @@jonbarbano5679 if it cleared up great but of not the valve seals are rubber caps and they dry rot and go bad sometimes, pretty simple fix, but that might be another area to check, low miles is great but sitting messes a lot of things up no matter how new , God bless

    I know it's activating but I really appreciate you taking the time and activation to do these videos, very helpful, and you sound like a north or south Carolina man, I'm born and bread north Carolina and I'll die here unless the liberals get to much which I'd say thier pretty bad across the country, depending on which state your in, the triangle area with our schools, duke, unc state, wake forest, it brings the crazy in but we praying it don't get to bad but anyway just wanted to thank you for your time and videos, God bless you and your family in Jesus name, be well , Mike

    Hey man me and my buddy have been fixing up my 2007 Honda Forman 500 4x4 we used your videos for the rear end and when we put it all back together and on the wheeler it’s going in reverse while in gear and forward when it’s in reverse could you please help. What did we do wrong.

    • @FourwheelerDoctor
      @FourwheelerDoctor  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That shouldn't have anything to do with the rest end. Sounds like you have transmission issues. What was the bike doing before you took the rear end apart

    • @tylerhendrix4710
      @tylerhendrix4710 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fourwheeler Doctor it was fine we where driving it in 4x4 and it was driving forward right and backwards right but it’s been broken for about 2 1/2 and the rear end hasn’t worked since

    • @tylerhendrix4710
      @tylerhendrix4710 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fourwheeler Doctor when it’s in 4x4 the front wheelers are doing forward and the rear end is going backwards

    • @FourwheelerDoctor
      @FourwheelerDoctor  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So if you jack the rear end up and have it in 2wd in first the rear wheels turn backwards?

    Mines not quite that dirty but I’m thinking I’ll pressure wash it before I take it apart.

    • @FourwheelerDoctor
      @FourwheelerDoctor  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't ha time to wash all the ones I work on but that is ideal to pressure wash them. Seems like 90% of what come in my shop is dirty. I just make sure the inside is clean when I put it back together.
