- Yuletide Greetings to you all!
I may have appeared to be a little off-radar lately, but you'll see why if you've been keeping up with my Shorts over the last few weeks. It's all because of my SketchPocket, which hit the shelves (that is, my studio) just shy of a month ago. But I haven't gone anywhere and I am full of creative ideas for my channel for 2025!
I also particularly wanted to thank you, one and all, for beig such an amazing group: your comments throughout the year have warmed me through and through, and given me the confidence to continue doing what I'm doing. In fact...it's more than that. Being here on TH-cam has allowed me to be myself in a way that used to feel impossible in the "off-camera" world, but now, just because I've become used to it, feels natural. That is a priceless gift. I am eternally graetful.
And so it goes on. I want to host lots more free classes for you, to give you 90 minutes of creative pleasure and - of course - to allow you to see what I do as a sketching teacher when I have you all to myself, in the more formal setting of a Zoom session.
Thanks also to all of you who trusted me eough to buy one of my beautiful SketchPockets, whose cactus leather bags of sketching goodness have winged their way across the world over the last three weeks. They are now in Australia, the USA and all across Europe. I have received many beautiful messages of gratitude, making this journey so satisfying as well as exciting.
The first consignment of filled SketchPockets is completely sold out now, but more will arrive in January. The New Year will also see two new designs start to take shape, so make sure to keep an eye out for developments!
If you have read this far, then you're in luck - tomorrow (Christmas Eve) I am going to make a few seasonal classes free for all, so that you can have a bit of guided sketching fun over Christmas, but only until St Stephen's Day 26th December, so watch out for the link on Instagram!
Have a peaceful Christmas, and I will have something nice for you very soon.
Love,
Róisín

Merry Christmas! I would love to hear your advice on getting comfortable pulling your sketchbook out in front of people on the spot? I am feeling nervous about that!
That’s very common with newbie sketchers. In fact, I have rarely met a woman who’s not nervous the first time or two. It’s in our DNA I think as men are either not nervous or don’t share that they are. I was very nervous indeed my first two times. My heart was going crazy! But I got over it very quickly. I wore a huge hat, sunglasses and earphones the first few times, but soon I ditched t armour and now I love when people approach me. It’s ironically a very positive way to learn that people are actually lovely! Others get used to it quickly too. Good luck!
