I bought this over a year ago i believe and i love it. I hav pretty bad allergies skin and regular eye and nose allergies to pollen pet hair and dander and many other things and this has helped so much.
@@TimeWizard727 I truly recommend it they also have an updated version which is about the same price and it filters out smaller particles and it is a bit better I’d recommend the newer version.
I have been using this exact model for over 2 years now in my bedroom and it's just amazing. Even after 2 years it is still very quiet. The only thing is that i have to turn off the UV light at night, it's too bright. Other than that, highly recommended. Last thing, the white noise it produces also help me sleep.
I bought this a year ago for $38 on clearance (very lucky) and it has worked pretty well. I had always thought to upgrade to something better but after watching this I am not so sure it is worth it. However, I use generic filters from Amazon that cost between $11 and $14. I would love to see reviews with 3rd party filters incorporated into this as well or maybe just do videos comparing different filters. That actually might be more important, because I buy filters much more often than I buy air purifiers.
I just wish that air would exit from the entire front of the air purifier and not just the left side. How you can air purify a room if it keeps going left?
As I mentioned in the video, the position of the UV-C light is not the best. Anyway, it kills some germs as a small amount of the air is going through the UV light.
There is a video out there from the company showing how the air passes through the UV light , and as it continuously does over hours of use, it effectively treats the air it recycles.
I think the UV light is supposed to be reacting to some titanium oxide ? I noticed the metal plate piece that goes in where the UV light is has some type of coating on that. maybe it is a titanium oxide coating.. not sure. I think those two act together to create something to help clean. . not sure. i myself am just learning.
Can you please suggest which air filter will best for a 'budgerigar aviary'? This is an indoor aviary. The size of the room is 220 sq ft. Around 400-500 budgerigars will be there. I need the air to be free from dust, bird dander and odour. Thank you!
My girlfriend has been using the Winix 5500-2, but she had only two budgerigars, and it helped a lot. She definitely felt the difference in breathing after putting an air purifier in a room where she had budgerigars.
I got this back in 2016. Still working to this day. I got it to cover weed and tobacco smoke. It won't cover the smoke like that. Mama still gonna know you smoking. But it does work great. Doesnt cover up much area compared to nowaday filters, i moved onto a winx, got a small levoit for the babies room. but now in a dayette because i covers 3k sq feet. but id def recommend the germ guardian brand for sure..
Is there auto shut off or auto on when detected cleaned or odor? If this works only for knob manually, how do I know air is cleaned? How much is UV light replacement ? Is it good for smoking removal? Neighbor smokes a pot and it comes my area thru air vent in bathroom.
No, this model doesn't have auto mode or smart sensors. It is fully manual, so you have to use an external air quality meter. But, don't worry about that, you will feel when the cleaner air, trust me. I'm not sure, but you can check the price of the UV bulb on Amazon. It's not the best option for smoke. I don't think so. This one is intended for rooms up to 167 sq. ft.
