In my experience yes. I have the NZXT adapter on a 1080 Ti and it's exquisite! Admittedly my stock cooler was a blower fan but the temps have dropped from over 80'C to 55'C. Plus it can run at 2000Mhz now as well.
This testing should be done inside a case. majority of user have a case not a test bench. A case air temp can heat up from the GPU, and a rad sitting on the front getting access to a fresh air may perform even better.
My 980ti was my first water-cooled gfx, with an aio, it was from EVGA and I mainly bought it, to get a more silent card, and it worked perfectly, my current 2080ti is fully water-cooled with an EK block, and is ofc also very quiet :D It's a bit overkill considering I don't really OC my card much, but I really just like my pc to be quiet without turning too hot and lowering performance

I do have a concern over longevity being that these are new designs. I've heard of several AIO pumps failing so it's reasonable to wait for long term test results before jumping on board and trying to find one. Depending on the manufacturer and quality of the components, it may be a big gamble on an expensive card when air-cooled or custom loops are already tried and proven.
I say they are worth it, I've been running an EVGA AIO on my MSI 980 TI for the last 5 years and my temps never have gone over 61°. Not only has it allowed me to me 250/250 overclocked for most of those years I also think it gives the card longevity as low temps is easier on electronics.
Definitely can benefit small form factor cases, less heat buildup for the CPU so it can remain on air cooling. Usually the CPU will outlast 2-3 GPU generations so ease of maintenance is nice, then you just buy a new GPU when the AIO starts building up gunk and other problems - if it can last 3 years without issues of course - resale value is limited though. I'm still an air cooler at heart, but the AIO option for GPU lazyboys with enough money has some merit - but in this PC market, heck no.

At 150 to 200 bucks more, wouldn‘t you get better performance by upgrading to a better card? E.g. Pick a 3080 air cooled instead of a 3070Ti with AIO?
@@henrike9389 Yes, but in some cases, but a 3080 aio is still probably cheaper than a 80ti by a decent margin.

In most cases I would pick an air cooled gpu. I really like a simple appearance of my system and prefer the reliability of air cooling.
Just wanted to let you know that this is the ONLY channel that has actually helped me when it comes to building and more importantly - buying. So much thought goes into your builds that it actually changed the way I did all my RGB. I wish I could do the things you do with computers, I have the passion but certainly not the monetary ability.
Short answer: yes, it s worth it! Lowers temps, extends lifetime, and makes it virtually silent compared to factory..
but what about lifetime of the pump tho

Yessir!
I like that the AIO cards can be placed in an exhaust location, so most of the heat just goes out without changing the temp inside the case.
