Theres a few mods out there that add deer, Alex’s mobs, mo’ creatures, twilight forest. You can probably make your own hunting game with modded minecraft if you find the right mods. I know there’s at least one gun mod out there
I really like the April Fools events in theHunter: Classic. I really liked the colorful Turkey event that was last year's event. However, I have to say that I really loved seeing Tyrannosaurus rexes causing havoc in the game for the 2022 April Fools event.
I know you said it too but, watching that badly stirred buck come in with the normal black tails was genuinely unsettling. I can’t help but think about something like that happening irl and it’s terrifying.
