Shiny meganium just joking it’s charizard’ h braviary ‘ h zoura line and egislash and rayquaza and lucario just to name some also I do quite like shiny meganium
Shiny Greninja and Shiny Ponyta
I'm personally tilted how bad the shinies for Amarouge and Ceruledge are. Most of us love at least one if not both of them, so the developers _had_ to know the shinies would be coveted. Except, they're like 1% different. They should have changed into each other's colors!
Charcadet too is amazing but eye colour should not a shiny make
Or better yet, leaning further into the red for Rouge and more bluosh for Cerulean.
Considering one of the designers at Game Freak works on Mega Man, they should’ve give Armarouge X’s colours, and Ceruledge Zero’s

Shiny Flamigo has a reason for its shiny, it's based on young flamingos that don't have the pink pigment yet
plus when adult flamingo's feed their chicks, they also end up looking washed out, so there is that too

The fact that shiny Tyrantrum wasn't mentioned at all is surprising, that's literally a perfect shiny.
Yeah the shiny they gave tyrantrum is amazing as it's redish-orange and gold colors changed to blue and silver

My only notable shiny is a Kyurem I found without actively looking for it, and I love its colours.
A dark blue body with ice dyed ever so slightly pink/purple already is a great look for it, but then you get to Black and White Kyurem, and the eerie green/blood red energy going through its tail and tubes is an amazing touch.
Shiny Giratina is my favorite Sinnoh shiny. Such a good color combination, especially the shade of blue used.
Goated.
Literally a crime it wasn't on this list. Spent nearly a year getting one in Platinum

Hell yeah. I'd say origin form shiny Giratina is the most beautiful Pokémon there is and it's a shame it wasn't mentioned.
I remember on one playthrough of Platinum, I found a random Shiny Shinx on Rt 202. Felt very lucky.
Also, big fan of what Legends Arceus did for Shiny Rapidash. A nice middle ground between Gen 2 and later with the lavender-hued silver flames.
I had the same thing happen with Shinx in Platinum! Mine was on route 203 right after fighting Barry. It’s still my favorite shiny for being my only shiny I’ve found during the main story that’s actually good
Easily the best shiny for me is Chesnaught. The darker green and brown compliment each other so nicely it makes me wish it was the base color scheme.
I agree that Ho-oh's a really good shiny. I shiny hunted it in gen 2 virtual console and named it Eraqus, after the character from Kingdom Hearts.
It took me way too long to find this channel. Now I'm binge-watching it, loving how your quality is always consistent and engaging even in years-old videos where I'd expect growing pains, and your penchant for using Xenoblade music as background further cements you as a man of exquisite taste. Lunala’s shiny references a blood moon while looking sick as all hell. Solgaleo too, though I don’t know if red suns are a thing lol

In the Generation 2 games, I feel like the Game Boy Color's more limited color palette is actually a blessing in disguise for most Shiny Pokémon. You would think that having more options for colors on future hardware would improve Shiny Pokémon, but in my opinion it actually does the exact opposite, since each of the Game Boy Color's 32,768 possible colors are, mathematically speaking, further apart from one another than each of the hundreds of millions of possible colors we have on the 3DS and Switch.
In much more simple words: two different shades of any given color look more and more similar the more possible shade combinations are added on an RGB color palette.
As bad as a lot of the shinies are for gen 9, I don't think they get any worse than Armarouge and Ceruledge. Literally all that happens is... their eyes change color. Nothing else, just the eyes, despite the obvious answer being to at least swap their color palettes. It makes me so frustrated that some of the best-looking Pokemon this generation have some of, if not THE worst, shiny forms out there.
So much potential
Personally I think Tandemaus and Maushold are even less noticeable, but Armorouge and Ceruledge definitely had so much more potential

Looks like someone needs to take a second look at gen 5’s roster. Kyurem, Emboar, Heatmor, GIGALITH, Volcarona, Zorua, Scolipede, Chandelure… so many gems that didn’t even get a mention. Which fells especially wrong when Hoopa of all things got a mention despite being really bad. Oh, and Chi-Yu missing is also a crime.
He mentioned Bisharp later when talking about Kingambit, so I felt it wasn’t necessary to add it to the list.

I dare say that shiny Clodsire is a personal favorite of mine, not only because purple looks good in general, but I actually found a shiny Paldean Wooper on the same day I started Pokémon Violet. At first not even noticing that it was shiny until I battled it when the sparkles showed up.
Actually, gold can come in a variety of colors aside from yellow: pink, grey, white, grey, etc. So many Gholdengo possibilities...

Gotta shout out the editor for this one. Using Tae Takemi's clinic music when talking about the AHA was an excellent touch for RPG fans. Same thing with using Leftheria's music when talking about Alola. JPR's background music is generally excellent, but this video's is especially so
Sunburnt Golduck was my first full odds shiny. Randomly Came across it in Gen 5. So I've got an attachment to it... even though it's not great.
Fun Fact, Trapinch in Black Two was my first ever Shiny Pokemon (I was a fan for years before I ever got my 3DS), but I never actually evolved it. Went back to Pokemon Bank with the news that the 3DS E-Shop will be closing late next month and happened to find it sitting alone in a box labelled “Shinies”. I hadn’t moved any of my other shiny Pokemon to Bank.
Thank you for bringing up the vanilluxe line, even in terms of shinies that don't change the color I rarely see them brought up. I literally caught a shiny vanillish in shield almost a year ago and just realized while going thru boxes in Pokémon home
Shiny Gholdengo could have been made out of Platinum, which used to be called "fools gold"

Applin’s shiny aged like a fine wine because Dipplin and Hydrapple look AWESOME, plus syrup bomb changes to yellow for their shiny forms
The Chikorita line is not just ”same color but brighter” it’s literally autumn/fall-colored.
I'm soooo glad to see some love for the Luxray line shinies! Luxray is my fave Pokemon and I love it's shiny form too

Tentacruel was one of the first shiny pokemon I caught that wasnt the daycare egg or lake of rage garydos. Ninetails was one of the first shinies that I specifically bred to get

Surprised you didn't mention shiny Ceruledge and Armorouge as the most frustrating shinies. They could have pallet swapped them, made the swords or cannons different, changed the hue of the flames, literally anything. But NO THEY JUST CHANGE THE EYE COLOR. THAT'S IT. So frustrating for such cool Pokémon.
The Ralts line is solid. However, I nearly missed a shiny Shuppet in Sapphire because I had the sound off and wasn't paying attention. Seriously kept staring at the screen pre-Internet trying to figure it out. Caught it to be safe, thank Arceus, but still, makes ya wonder how many have been missed.
My favorite by look, I can't pick. My coolest was a golden Magikarp in Sapphire, so I have a 100% legit Red Gyrados in Gen III

Your Falinks story reminded me of a time where i was trying to hatch a Budew (not even shiny hunting) but ended up making a bunch of Roselia’s and the second Roselia was shiny😭

Agreed on lucario. It looked like a glowstick in gen 4-8. Also as somebody who spent over 50k encounters on shiny giratina, Ik you will get it. Dont quit no matter how far you go

My first Full Odds RANDOM Shiny was a Shiny Tentacruel in Gold (Playing it for the first time a few years back). I was thaining up my Mons for I believe the Elite Four/Champion Battles and I almost ran from it then I realized it was a shiny and super hyped.
I *just* realised that Gholdengo changes when shiny. I thought it was identical until until I saw the thumbnail, it’s so similar.
How does it change?

Missed opportunity of Golduck shiny not being the color gold

Oof. That shiny Nidoqueen reminds me of the Fusion Varia Suit from Metroid Fusion. It's a very similar pea soup green mixed with pink that just isn't good looking.
Speaking of Regice, I love how Pokemon GO made its shiny way noticeable. Being darker shade of iceblue with its GO textures makes this a way better shiny than in mainline games.
My first shiny was tentacool while surfing in Pokemon Ruby when I was 10. Funny enough my second shiny was also Ponyta in Diamond 😆

I got a shiny Shinx in Platinum IIRC and named it Shinyx. It's in my Pokemon Home now as a Luxray
i caught a shiny eevee in PLA a while ago! deciding between an umbreon and a sylveon was a very hard choice but i ended up with an umbreon! still so happy about him
My first shiny was Eevee too, albeit in Let's Go Pikachu. Also ended up with an Umbreon... by some weird coincidence. We are on the same wavelength my good brother.

I think shiny sylveon is probably my favorite shiny because it was on my playthrough team in legends arceus. I really love shiny wooper and shiny clodsire and marril (I love the green). There are so many good shinys that I want like shiny johto wooper palafin and dudunsparce as well (on and of hunting to first two).
Damn I definitely just saw a shiny fortress . It was my first time seeing one in violet, 😂thought it was just the 3D
I love telling this story. So back when I played Omega Ruby I was training up some Pokemon in the postgame, this included a Surskit. It had Sweet Scent and I decided hey why not try a horde for gits and shiggles. I found a horde of Nincada one of which being shiny first try. I wanted to narrow it down to the two of us quicker than my original strategy of two shotting all of them with Quick Attack, so I used Bubble. It was when the health bars dropped dramatically fast when I realised maybe using a super effective move with a Pokemon 5 levels above would have dire consequences. It's been years and I still think about that Nincada. Maybe one day when I have too much time on my hands, it'll be my first shiny hunt.
If it's any consolation, I have a shiny Shedinja I'm willing to trade away to you.

In a vacuum I actually quite like Shiny Nidoqueen, but not continuing the theme of the pre-evolutions is very confusing.

Gossifleur is so insanely underrated! SSS tier gen 8 shiny imo.
You have to remember that from Gens 1 through 5 shiny Pokémon were randomly generated by a computer algorithm doing palette swaps. It wasn’t until Gen 6 onward that shiny Pokémon were intentionally designed.
Keep in mind that the shinies from gens 1-5 weren't made personally by the devs, rather they were generated by a computer, i believe, by shifting the colors slightly to the next color palette. Gen 6 using 3D models and actual textures, meaning that the devs needed to actually design the shinies, hence why so many of them past gen 6 have some reference baked in.
Edit: There is a reason I said "I believe" in this comment, it is because I wasn't certain of the method at that moment(I'm pretty sure I initially commented at like 1 in the morning so my brain likely wasn't fully running. Also, for those of you who feel obligated to insist that there was no algorithm used or something similar, take a look at the video linked in my reply to someone who commented on this comment.
Though the devs did adjust some of them throughout the series as shown in the video.
Some of my personal favorite shinies are Nihilego, Mega Gardevoir, Zygarde, Pumpkaboo, and Darkrai.
People always say this, but I find that extremely hard to believe, they probably meant that they were limited by colour limitations on sprites, no way stuff like Metagross was just “randomly generated”

This has been disproven several times over by now
The reason why shiny regice looks so similar to its original colour is because it had its colour changed from gen 4 to gen 5 from a pale blue to a mich brighter blue but its shiny was never changed so as a result they looked identical.
Personal favorites: Aegislash, Umbreon, Heliolisk (I think the sunburn is kinda funny since they’re sunbathing lizards), Wooper, all the Tapus (especially Koko), the whole Chespin line, Swablu/Altraia + it’s mega, Lickilicky, Duskull, Boldore/Gigalith, Whimsicott, Haxorus, Mega Gengar, Mega Gardevoir/Gallade, all 3 Primals, Diggersby, Espurr, Swirlx/Slurpuff, the Galar birds, Hatterene, Grimmsnarl, Eiscue, and Dondozo.
It’s a lot, I know. I also like Spring Deerling since that was my first one.
All of these shinies are great. Personally a bit iffy on Dondozo, but it looks great regardless.
Btw shiny Primal Groudon and shiny Primal Kyogre have their original shiny colors on the end of their protusions. shiny P.Groudon has gold claws, and shiny P.Kyogre has purple fin... bits.
The segue into the heart disease thing legit made me laugh.
The only redemption for shiny gengar is his mega going full bone white..I was so let down when I evolved haunter and boom. A shade if difference in the wrong direction. I also don't like that they didn't change the gold to silver. Sure it conteracts the naming pun. But have you seen Swablu? I nicknamed mine Swayello
Shoutout to Blaziken who gets a deeper red and a super-saiyan style gold tint when he mega evolves.
I actually have an idea for Shiny Regice. Turn it into Black Ice. It would make a lot of sense because Black Ice is basically just ice on pavement.
And since the world continues to modernize where Regice are found they begin to take the form of a new threatening color. It'd be interesting on lore side lol.

My first Shiny ever (That wasn't scripted) was slyveon. I bred for eevee in X and Y and had to get my blue fairy. Named it Navi and now it's on a quest to get every champion ribbon (well if allowed Into said region anyway)
Personally I adore the Violet Paradox shinies, I really dig the "unpainted chrome" look. I agree it would have been nice to change the lights too like while Valiant is my favourite shiny of this gen, giving it blue Lights to go in line with regular Gallade and Gardevoir would have been badass but in no way would I call them bad.
Of course these things are subjective though.
I like them because of the unintended SpongeBob reference.

Haven't played Pokemon since 2000 and got a Switch during lockdown and said what the hell, I'll get this new Pokemon. I didn't know what Shiny even was and when I was looking far off the mark for the Orthworm titan in the mines I saw a lil blue dude among 4 red ones making sharpening sounds by the water. My first shiny was Pawniard and I didn't even know about Bisharp let alone Kingambit.
I also caught two shiny bonslys 15 seconds from each other going up the mountain in Kitikami. I love their hot pink on gold. No idea how that represents a fake plant tho lol

Shiny flygon (along with spiritomb, ditto & sigilyph) are my favorite shinies so that was so foul hearing your take on it
My first Legends shiny (outside of the free Ponyta) just so happens to be Luxio.
Though I consider *Kyurem vs The Sword of Justice* worst than *Genesect & The Legend Awakened.*
