    Fischer resigned the game... A line we didn't hear for quite some time! Petrosian was obviously mentally stronger than Taimanov and Larsen, he showed that Fischer can be beaten!

    • @SelfReflective
      @SelfReflective 6 ปีที่แล้ว +29

      Richard Feynman yes, indeed. Let’s not forget that P was a world champion from 1963-1969, so for the better part of 1960’s, the Golden Age of Chess.
      Tal was a wc for one year only, yet look at all the adulation he receives! P for 6 years, and people yawn. Yet he played 3 wc matches, if it weren’t for Fischer, he would have made it 4, and with good chances against Spassky for the crown in 1972.
      P was one of the greatest players of all time. Greater than Smislov or Tal, yet he gets no respect at all. And against Fischer he was very near his top form, but he was simply outclassed, this game notwithstanding.

      @@SelfReflective I totally agree with you and I think that especially Tal is a bit overrated. A hyper-agressive style and eye-pleasing sacrifices all the time shouldn't and doesn't make you one the greatests ever.

      @@Alleis It is a known fact that Tal's opponents weren't able to find the right/best moves to defend more properly against him back in the day. Yeah it worked for that era but anyone with this type of style wouldn't make it to even top 100 nowadays because it ain't healthy. Don't mean to disrespect him of course but that's the way I think.

    I love how this channel is so well organized, like a good film or a TV show. The title has meaning, and so do quotes on top of the games. Nothing is random, it's all tied together. Some people might want to say that the display text is not well done, but I think it's great because while it conveys the information it is supposed to convey, it is not something that would invite distraction from the game and agadmator's gorgeous face.
    If you give people value, they will love you. And people actually love agadmator. I don't see such genuine love pour out for other TH-camrs.

    Amazing piece coordination and switch from attack-to-defense/sacrifice and then back to tactics. Petrosian keeps all of his pieces constantly doing something over the board, like working silently in the background, patiently waiting for their time to contribute to the position by grabbing the initiative! Additionally, huge presentation skills by agadmator who is constantly driven by his passion, delivering high quality analysis over TH-cam. We live novel moments.

    Fisher broke opening principles and lost because of it. He moved his queen and knight twice before castling and finishing developing. Tripple threatening the white knight was an aggressive idea but Petrosian neutralized the threat and emerged with a dominant pawn center.

I tried watching some chessedge and thechesswebsite stuff but it really doesn’t fill the void on days without posts.
