  • Hey my lovelies, In this video I am showing you how I used the Cling Film Technique in Epoxy Resin, to create the most amazing luxurious fabric effect within the resin. As I say in the video, this is my first attempt and whilst it did not turn out how I expected, my second attempt truly is not to be missed. My second attempt will be out Saturday.

    Hey Claire! Great first attempt! Check out Pouring Your Heart Out.. Julie tried the clingfilm trick and then she created her own silicone mold for the same effect. Xx

    For the first attempt this looks great. You did well and we all learnt from your tips on how to avoid some of the problems you had.On the whole this was a good outcome. I am sure the next attempt will be 100% perfect. ❤️❤️❤️🌸🌸👏🏼👏🏼

    Love this. I made coasters a few months ago using this technique but left my resin about an hour to hour and half before putting the cling film on. Gives such a beautiful crushed velvet look. I think I may have been the one saying go go go to get the pens on amazon 😂

    I absolutely love what you made. It looks like fabric. Practice with different kinds of plastic. Like plastic bags, or parchment paper,etc. Also crumple the film first. Finally push, don’t pinch. You might even wait until it has set up a bit so those deep drapes will hold.

      That is so helpful thank you ! I ade some more after this and I did exactly that .. I poked and pushed instead of pinched and WOW what a difference ! i made hearts and the video is out Saturday x

    I have tried this and tossed the project and video like 3 times now! I didn't realize how stuck the plastic wrap could get... but after watching yours and others I see that's normal lol going to have to take another run at it....

      Ohhhhhh yes I think it is normal for sure ... but I would also leave it over 24 hours ... I tried after 24 hours and it was super stuck still ... I really should have mentioned this ... also pour deeper than I did x

    Pallet shrink wrap might have been better, Claire. It's stronger - very handy when you move and you have probably seen tourists wrap it around suitcases to keep them extra safe!
    Cheap, too, and you get loads on a roll!

      Maybe we should all start emailing the company from our different areas, complaining that we want their pens but can't get hold of them! 😃

    I watched Julie Cutts from pouring your heart out do this technique and hers where fabulous so me being me mine looked has good Julie's until I tried to remove the cling film I left loads in there that would not come out like you I brushed them with chameleon pigments and they looked stunning until I moved them in the light because I couldn't remove all of the cling film the chameleon pigments didn't changed colour so I am stuck with two coasters that look fantastic but don't change colour and I haven't tried the technique since lol at least you where able to remove all your cling film great job at least your almost there enjoyed watching but I felt your pain lol can't wait for the next video well done Clair at least you have shown us thank you so much for sharing you've done a great job Clair ❤

    I love how this turn out! Its beautiful!!! Can I please ask how long do you let it sit there before you put cling wrap on and start colouring?

      Hey Prissy, I put the Cling wrap on straight away but you could wait 20 mins or 30 mins would be easier xx I coloured it 24 hours later when I took the cling off

    I always wait for the resin to get to the gel state before pinching it. That way it stays the way I want it.

    This is so pretty. I don’t think it would look good if it was all uniform. It has character. You could have used a textured mold if you wanted uniformity.

    You are too hard on yourself. It is a beautiful piece. But the lesson you have taught us and yourself is worth so much.
