Love your videos. Continue showing real life in South Korea/Seoul to all of us, too starry-eyed with the kdrama and K-pop 😊. Reduce the self-doubt. You are doing great. Present your thoughts confidently. All the best.
Awee thank you for the encouragement! and hahah yeah I think I was a little worried about the pitchforks coming my way for saying bad things about Korea, but yeah I'm definitely trying to paint a more realistic picture for ppl! Glad you are here for it!! ❤❤ Have a wonderful day!
I wonder if you could have bought the $5 strawberries, pureed them, froze it in little ice cubes, and then used it for some fun tea/lemonade in the future? Or add it to the C/D vitamin tea for some more flavor?
Ahaha filming in public is one of the most cringiest things sometimes, but then I often don't remember it a lot of times LOL so it's worth it. Thanks so much Jimmy! hope you are doing well!
Curious... my first mini-mountain hike in Seoul was also Eungbongsan. As for looks, yeah, there's too much vanity, but for me, coming from fashion-averse Seattle, it was a good chance to mix up / improve my style a little. Don't let the toxicity get to you, but spin it into a little bit of self-improvement while staying true to yourself. Ah, strawberries. It took me a few years to realize it, but in general, Koreans still eat according to the seasons. There will be a lot of good domestically grown strawberries for a short window of time. If you want an adventure you can go east to the 북한강 (Bukhangang (North Han River)) in Namyangju and pick some strawberries! I used to live and teach in that area. Nearby you can see where the North and South Han Rivers meet, and there's a large park with nice views and lotus flower ponds that bloom in the summer. Cherry blossom season is here in Seattle, which means it will be in Seoul very soon. The classic spot is 여의도 (Yeouido), but might I suggest a stroll along the 양재천 (Yangjae-cheon (Yangjae stream))? It's a long and beautiful multi-level walk and will be a lot less crowded. There's also 석촌호수 (Seokchon-hosu (Seokchon Lake)) in Jamsil which is quite nice but will have a lot of buildings and people too.
Wow this was super amazing advice! I totally agree, it's definately given me a lot of motivation to up my style a bit, at least i know which colors to go for XD. I'll definately have to check out those areas! I think it would be super cool to do the strawberry picking thing, I'll have to look into that! Also I actually am planning to go to Yeuido for the cherry blossom festival this year super excited about it! As well as Yangjae stream is also on my list! Thanks for all these super helpful suggestions!!
Hello Cat, hope you're doing well. I know it's been a brutally hot summer in Korea, hope you got through it alright... I noticed you haven't made a video in a while. No pressure! Just do things at your own pace and at the rhythm of life. Have a wonderful Chuseok and a well-deserved break, and bask in the beautiful weather once it returns.
I totally understand how u feel about not feeling "pretty" enough or attractive, but honestly, I just want to say that you're so pretty, like authentically, and im not even like trying to be nice when I say that I'm being serious, and plus, it's all about the inner beauty and the beauty of who we are as people on the inside, bcuz God said that man looks at the outer appearance, while He looks at the heart, and yes always being content with what the Lord gives us is key too bcuz He doesn't create ugly things🩵He knows what's best for us, and walking in God's Will for our lives is the best thing that we could ever do. Also plz keep going I love your energy and authenticity, but yes I love u, and God bless you sister in Christ
Awe thank you so much for this sweet conmment! Thank you for the encouragement and appreciate the kind words, I agree God cannot go wrong with His creation and maybe He probably thinks we are all kindda cute. Hope you have a blessed day!!
Really enjoying your videos, I move to Seoul in May so I love the day to day style of the videos, how you discuss the prices, groceries etc, it's really fun. Do you mind sharing the name of the hike you went on?
Wow thats so exciting! Make sure to pack some good meds, I keep getting sick here but theres no Nyquil to put me to sleep haha XD. Are you also coming to teach or as a student? The hike I went on is called Eungbongsan (응봉산) It's actually a really short hike but you could explore that and Seoul Forest which is right next to each other!
@@Foreveryc97 ooo thank you for the recommendation, I have got paracetamol and ibuprofen on my list but I’ll make sure to pack a few other meds too 👍🏻 I’ll be coming to teach, I think it’s a similar format to you, Kinder in the morning and elementary in the afternoon ☺️ thank you! I will save the name of the hike - I’m slowly building a list of places to go etc for on weekends when I’m not too tired 😂
I can't speak for Cat, but for me I think it's because in UK (where I live), US, Canada etc dogs are very much seen as domesticated pets and are part of the family, and so the idea of eating them is quite upsetting. I understand in some places they are more classed as dirty / livestock animals but for us they are our family, if that makes sense? :)
Honestly, great question! I used to have a dog as a pet that I loved like a son so it's just sad because they make such great companion animals, and they have so much more potential for that then for dinner, but I definitely can see it from your perspective as well. I saw this one video by the "Best Ever Food Show" That did a segment on eating porcupine and I was so fascinated with it I was kindda like hmm that would be interesting to try one day. I think the less emotionally attached, the easier it is to see it as just meat. 😂 Hope you have an amazing day!
I almost subscribed to your channel but I decided against it after I saw that : Yes you were apolled to see dog meat at the market but you just mentioned it when it is the most horrible something you can encounter. You couldh ave put a link of Korean organisation people can protest about this unethical practice or do something more than what you did. Instead you enjoyed your strawberries at the same time as mentioning it. I was disapointed
Hey thanks for your honest feedback! Although I think it really sucks because I have owned a dog and it was one of the greatest pains in my life when he passed away, However in the end, I still eat meat and I believe it would be hypocritical to say that a cow doesn't deserve life while a dog does. I've actually thought about the way I would include this in the video and I knew some people would be upset that I didn't do enough, but I think that I won't ever be able to satisfy everyone's needs. I appreciate it if you are actively protesting and donating to stop the cause if it's really important to you. Hope you have a great day.

I miss korea. Caught between two cultures, Korean and American but don't belong to neither
Genuine question , if you can eat meat of any other animal like beef pork but why you can't even see dog meat?
Difference between livestock and pet animal
I can't speak for Cat, but for me I think it's because in UK (where I live), US, Canada etc dogs are very much seen as domesticated pets and are part of the family, and so the idea of eating them is quite upsetting. @@Foreveryc97 this sounds like hypocrite but all we humans are like that we care only those things and people whom we are closed and attached.
Ahh didn't know they had dog meat in SK. They just banned it this january so that's why that old man bum rushed you lmaooo
Oh wow I didn't know! Yah no wonder! I guess people still sell it at these markets :(
