I ran across your video while daydreaming about St. John. I've been 5 times and it is still my favorite place on earth. I couldn't remember what the beach was like at the Westin, so I skipped ahead to that part. I was so tickled to see you are a fellow Cowboy! Go Pokes!

We were there in July and had a 1st floor room right in front of the Shuttle station you featured. We could see the pool and the beach from our room. I miss this place everyday 😩. We love St. Johns and will be returning soon. We hit every beach on Cruz Bay in the week we stayed. My advice to anyone is to rent a jeep to get around and explore the beautiful Island,
even if your only driving 10mph 😂😂. Loved walking to the beach at night to listen to the ocean and see the beautiful homes in the mountains.

We really did enjoy the hotel. But there is only one restaurant. But you can take a taxi to Cruz Bay for some great restaurants. Short taxi ride and not very costly.

The place looks empty- like really empty including the water taxi and beaches from your other STJ videos. Was that your impression in general in regards to tourism on STJ? I'm glad they rebuilt The Westin- hopefully Caneel Bay is next. Glad you seemed to have a great time- it's hard not to in STJ unless you step on one of the many sea urchins (don't ask!)

This was our first time to St. John and it seems like there were not a lot of people there in July. I am sure because of COVID 19. I am not sure how busy St. John would normally be during this time of year. Trunk bay, we had to ourselves, no cruise ships coming in. Some day I would like to return and I am sure that I will be surprised with the beaches and crowds. Loved this much need trip. St. John made us forget about the virus for a few days....
@@kjandthesteve1432 I go to STJ fairly often. It looked slightly quieter than usual. If a cruise ship is docked beaches like Trunk Bay can get busy but still manageable. It must have been nice having the island to yourself. Next time you will have to check out Haulover Bay for snorkeling. The South side is amazing. better IMO than Waterlemon and definitely better than Trunk. Not much of a beach but the water and sea life make up for it. Just watch out for sea urchins.

St. John has been packed especially over the last couple weeks with the holidays. Many tourists are first timers as you can go really anywhere else due to covid. Caneel Bay resort as of now will not be rebuilt.
@@tylerjack4243 I prefer it when the cruise ships are not in town. I think Caneel will eventually be rebuilt...or another resort take it's place though Caneel was a special place. As of now, they are saying some type of verbal agreement or mutual understanding has been made. Hopefully things move ahead soon.
the westin is fine, but if you can do a Villa, by all means do that instead.
Sorry the resort does not look that impressive, and I'm sure you are paying big bucks to stay in St. John.
@Anne Hodges I'm curious how much does it cost to stay for a week at the Westin during prime season?
