St. Croix has the best beaches hands down. Better cuisine on St. Croix and the history is richer. However St. Thomas does have its charm. Party goers go to St. Thomas but the relaxers go to St Croix.

Been to St. Croix in 2008 and it was beautiful and had gorgeous evenings that were magical. I want to go to St. John someday and enjoy the crystal clear water.
Hi have you been to Saint Croix recently? It's currently December 2022 my husband and I are thinking about going there sometime in January 2023 kind of a last-minute trip because I probably won't get to take another vacation until April. Anyway I read a lot of articles right so think white is not safe. Did you feel safe when you were there? Thank you
I was there for a week. It’s absolutely beautiful and I’m glad that the islands are a part of the USA. The people are really friendly, the ice cream is delicious, and the views are beautiful. You can fly into St. John via a seaplane from Seaborne, which is owned by Silver Airways. Do not drive if you are not comfortable with driving on the left as it is the only part of the USA that drives on the left. Kinda wish the BVI joined the USVI and became one large US territory or state.
@IslandHopperTV how would you compare St Croix with Key West when I was in Key West I didn't like it I got into an argument with someone the thing is I didn't know I was on his property
Good review. I was on all three islands in 2019 during the hurricanes and all the people I met were amazing. I’ve wanted to go back but prices are astronomical for lodging. I don’t make a lot of money but I’d save for the experience that I had on St. John. Totally laid back and people help one another. No wonder why they call it Love City.
I love your trip reports. They're always so thorough and on-point! My wish list of trips grows a little with every new video you release on TH-cam ;( Thank you for sharing them with us.
St John: Trunk Bay best overall beach with clear water and snorkeling trail bright fish🐠 & good bar, Maho Bay (always packed, good bars) is a good beach for snorkeling with turtles(free too, turtles on right side facing looking outward) but the sand is rougher, Cinnamon Bay is good beach choppier water if windy & great photo opportunity as soon as you walk in with window sill beach in background, Hawksnest beach is good beach, Oppenheimer beach is great secluded beach(get there early), Francis Bay Beach is like Major gritty sand. There's lots more beaches but those are some off top of head.
Communications or data is good in the USVI as well. I recently took a week-long Caribbean cruise and the only time my phone received a signal was in St. Thomas. I don’t know how limited you are based on you service provider, mine is Verizon, but it was nice to get caught up on messages and download another audio book while we were in port.
I was in St. Thomas when Fiona hit. Got stuck for a few days. Before the storm hit it was great. We stayed at Margaritaville. They upped the price for the room for the extra 2 days. No one could come or go due to the storm. Very shady business practices in my opinion. Moved to a different place by the airport when we could.
Good morning, Good afternoon, Good evening! Always say that out of respect, goes a long way!! Recommend going to St John very early to get a parking spot on beaches! If you go early enough you can beach hop, like two or three beaches a day. Although the beaches are close, each beach is dramatically different!!
Jeff if you need a spare camera man I am available to travel at any time also my editing skills are really good . I play golf enjoy all the food you do so won’t be any trouble at all .also extremely well mannered and won’t upset the locals !
Opening shot, looks like you were at John Brewer's Bay (beach). Grew up there, would swim and watch the airplanes land. That runway was extended back to the sea years ago due to a plane crash I believe in 1975. Pilot overshot the runway, went into a gas station that was at the other end of the runway. Some died.
It was actually April of 1976 was an AA flight from JFK to STT my uncle and his wife was supposed to be on that flight and they missed it … 1st flight he said he ever missed lol
The way he pronounced Tortola is disrespectful lol. Also, I’m tired of mainland Americans minimizing St. Croix and it’s beauty! Edit: St. Croix definitely has the best food. And the island is a bit more spacious so you won’t feel cramped. Saint Thomas and John are significantly smaller. Don’t let the fact that the capital being on Saint Thomas fool you. The capital is only there for logistical reasons.

Visit first. Get a feel of the atmosphere and environment, talk to the locals. Visit the Superior Court. Always say "Good morning" or "Good night" to any local first ,before conversing, otherwise it's considered rude not doing so. Apts are expensive, as well as houses. Same for electricity (WAPA), food and clothing. Some foods are imported, plus expensive for doing so, some are home grown you can by at Market Square, or supermarket. Some people, when moving there, have their cars shipped there. Expensive. Also, and very important, consider hurricane season, June-Sept. The Islands can be hit hard and depending on your location and in which direction the wind/rain blows, you could lose either your apt, or house, or be lucky and not lose anything. Luck of the draw. Water is considered gold-it's literally valuable due to low rainfall. Not trying to discourage you, just giving you the facts.
