Great vid, ive been watching all the St. Thomas vids cuz im going in sept. for 4 nights 5 days. My 2 things i plan on doing while there are SNUBA and a half day fishing charter. As i understand it at that time of year yellow fin and black tuna are the thing to catch. Im sure it will be enjoyable no matter what. Lots of good info in your video, thank you.
Another amazing video loved watching it. Meeting locals and showing us how people live and work is the essence of travel. I did not think about putting a vegan and a rasta in the same sentence but learned something new today- Moody
The locals don’t really like you guys 😭 I’m in st.Thomas visiting family for the summer and they will talk to you like everything is good but talk about you like a dog after
Yes I loved it too! I can't believe we've never been there, so it was fun to finally check it out! And yes, I absolutely loved the banana daiquiri too, did she top your off with local rum on the top? 😂
@@CamillaJohannesen a man made ours, and they were in larger cups, but yes, we watched and they used different rums and what we think what was a fresh banana smoothie type of mix, and then on the top they poured Cruzan Rum. It was sooooo good! I only had one because I was driving the Jeep, but my people had like three and they were knee-walking by the time we left. It was hilarious.
Camilla really cool seeing you reach out to the locals and seeing the vegan rasta community wow! Had no idea that was a thing. Really fun action-packed vid!
Thank you so much Adam! I loved that part too, meeting the locals and visiting the communities are always my favorite experiences. I'm so happy you enjoyed the video!
Thank you for watching! We had such a good time, and the last part was my fav too. I love visiting the locals and getting the real experience. Have you been to the Virgin Islands?
Sounds great, did you also have a daiquiri at the top? And yes, we also go back almost every year. We love it so much. Where do you usually stay when you are there? ❤️
It really is, the most beautiful island 😍 I feel like we did more on this trip than most people do in a year 😂 And yes, you are always welcomed on our trips, jump on that plane 🥳
Just a slight correction. crown mountain is actually the highest point on St thomas. You should visit there. Its not a tourist area though. Love your videos
Yeah I heard someone else said that too 😅 Thanks for letting me know. I did say on Mountain tops website, that they were the highest view point on the island, so maybe they mean view point, like you don't have to hike to get there? I don't know. But yes, I would love to hike up Crown Mountain, we haven't done a proper hike on any of our trips yet!
I hope you enjoyed this episode! 🙏🏼 I also wrote a blog post that goes along with this video! www.camillajohannesen.com/blog/top-9-things-to-do-in-usvi-2022 Sometimes that can be easier to refer back to when you are out traveling. Happy reading friends! 🌍👩🏼💻
Hiii Lucy! Happy Sunday to you and your fam 😍 Ohh cool, did you like it? Jon loved it, it was our first time at Mommas shack! Did you do the Jetski too? We had never done any of these things before, so we were really happy we got to experience it all!
I don't think so no, I'm pretty sure you need a visa in your passport before entering. But Google will be more helpful than me :) I only know that US citizens don't need a passport.
I thought of moving there during the pandemic after watching your videos then I punked out. St. Thomas is becoming more popular on TH-cam and it's making me reconsider...
Yeah, you should def visit or make the move. So many expats there, and they all seem pretty happy. Of course you have to be careful during hurricane season etc, but it's such a beautiful island! Let me know what you decide on doing!
Haha, we knew, but never did it, so it was really fun to actually finally do it! Last time I did a zip-line park was in Thailand, and this one felt way safer 😊
Even if you don’t film it, stop at SOS Antiques and Turkish Bazaar in Charlotte Amalie. Both those shops were very interesting. Also another channel I’ve watched a lot and also met while visiting St Thomas is th-cam.com/users/mBlydenvLogs. He does a lot of hikes and organizes some tours. It would be cool to see you two collaborate on a vlog. It’s so awesome to see the places in St Thomas in videos that I’ve now seen in person. They’re real. I’m hooked and want to go back.
Hii Robert! Thank you soooo much for those recommendations, I am def going to visit those stores when I go back. I love vintage and antique stores! And yes, Blyden is amazing, it's actually my friend's cousin, so we were supposed to meet on this trip, but it didn't happen! I'm sure we can do a collab next time I'm there, he's really good! And yes, it's always fun to watch travel vlogs from places you've been, it feels like you have visited a movie set haha.
Trek Local is the best! I love how they were able to provide you with such a genuine, local experience.
Yes, we had such a great experience with them!
Thank you for those kind words!
I loved the Bordeaux road and especially Bordeaux bay. We drove there just on a whim. So glad you got off the beaten path.
My brother and I took a vacation there. Stayed on St. Thomas. Best thing for us was Magens bay. St John was every beach. We love beaches!
Got to go there one day, my grandfather was from St.Thomas. and I got to go to St. Croix where my grandmother was from.
Yees, it's such a beautiful place, and so much to do there! I really want to visit St. Croix one day too. I heard it's beautiful too!

Thanks for posting! Headed there in a few months and you gave us some great tips! What kind of camera did you use for the ziplining selfie videos?
Thank you so much for watching! So happy you found the video helpful! I used a Insta360 camera for that footage.
Camilla really cool seeing you reach out to the locals and seeing the vegan rasta community wow! Had no idea that was a thing. Really fun action-packed vid!

@@CamillaJohannesen yes that is correct they are probably the highest view point on the island.
Waiting for more, are you doing work at secret harbor?
Great video! Can you post info for Dennis?

Is there any restrictions for Covid19? Do i have to make a covid test?
Not anymore, or at least not when we were traveling. But it always changes, so best to double check before you leave :)
Heading there Jan 2025!!
Omg, I'm so excited for you!!! Let me know if you have any questions! :)
We have been to mommas shack and that toppest store on the mountain C all that area and you showed but not the zip line
Hiii Lucy! Happy Sunday to you and your fam 😍 Ohh cool, did you like it? Jon loved it, it was our first time at Mommas shack! Did you do the Jetski too? We had never done any of these things before, so we were really happy we got to experience it all!
@@CamillaJohannesen not the jet skies but I hope to do that one day
I'm sure you will do it soon Lucy! It's so much fun, and you have to make sure that you are driving some parts too, that is the most fun! 😂
Hi pretty
our island is cool
Yees, I 100% agree with you! 🥹
@@CamillaJohannesen thank you
What is affordability to eat daily?
Can a jamaiacia come to the usvi with out visa?
I don't think so no, I'm pretty sure you need a visa in your passport before entering. But Google will be more helpful than me :) I only know that US citizens don't need a passport.
would you recommend renting a car in saint thomas?
Is St Thomas worth the direct flight in or is a 1 day cruise sufficient?
Definitely worth the direct flight!
Do you have the contact info for the tour guide (Michael)/company that you used? We're going to be there at the end of this month (aug)
I will be there the last weekend of August. Down for cost sharing? Airbnb? Car rental?
Are there any electrical vehicles on the USVI?
I would't know, I did not see any when I was there. And I also did't see any charging stations.
I thought of moving there during the pandemic after watching your videos then I punked out. St. Thomas is becoming more popular on TH-cam and it's making me reconsider...
Yes make sure you do your research to make sure it will be right for you. It can be actually different living anywhere vs being on vacation.
It's more expensive than living in NYC with barely any infrastructure.
@@runswithbeer what are you talking about. Most places can not be compare to NYC as far as infrastructure.
I didn't compare the infrastructure to NYC. I compared the expenses of living there.
Yeah, you should def visit or make the move. So many expats there, and they all seem pretty happy. Of course you have to be careful during hurricane season etc, but it's such a beautiful island! Let me know what you decide on doing!

Are there food banks in the USVI?
Are there food shortages in the USVI?
food shortages every where ... price spikes everywhere else.
If you need assistance there is the VI federal food assistance program and SNAP. There are pantries and a family crisis center in Charlotte Amalia.
3hr flight from Ny 🤔
Yees! It's great 🤩

Do low income earners ever get evicted from their landlords in USVI?
only when they fail to pay!

I wish you a beautiful weekend anyways :)
