I've known for years that the sites are scouted and prechecked. My adopted grandfather knew one of the collectors, that was "picked" near the beginning of the show's start. Still a great show, and his buddy enjoyed doing it!
I love the show. Mike and Frank.. Dani D is my favorite.. lol I'm familar with Dani D burlesque and she's extremely talented. I would consider her a friend. She helped my family out during Hurricane Maria.. One of her friends took my cousin food, water tablets, and other supplies. I adore Dani D and her love of my Island Puerto Rico.
Thank you Facts Verse for another great and informative video. I used to watch this show with my ex boyfriend all the time. I’m pretty sure that he owned a lot of antiques that were his dad’s but he would never think of selling anything. Keep up the good work 👍

I love the episodes where Danny goes out picking, she's the main character imo . Some of the things mike and Frank buy for over 100bucks are in sheds in Britain that nobody wants or would spend thst kinda money on. They get all excited for anything 70 yrs old, which is considered modern in Britain, I don't know why anyone would be shocked to find out Danny is/was a burlesque dancer , she's often mentioned it during the show , she seems like a genuine girl without any prima donna attitude, she's a bit big for my taste, but I wouldn't turn her down if offered the chance of a date, I imagine she would be fun and it would be an enjoyable time to remember. Antique archaeology, is a strange name for a company that goes through old barns and sheds looking for saleable items, I'm a field archaeologist working for a museum in England, I don't see any connection between archaeology and hunting for petrol signs or old bicycles, cars and other things found in barns. Archaeology is a science, we remove each layer of the subsoil containing archaeology very carefully and we record everything before taking the next layer off! We take soil samples from each layer and seal , number each bag which goes off to the environmental archaeologists who annalise and study things like old beetle remains and other things which tell us what was going on locally, what crops and other things were happening, small pieces of metal, implying the type of metal working , iron or bronze alloys for example. Each layer gets a different number of course and the items within, identifying pottery, domestic and middle or higher status table ware , like each era old and new pottery changed with the times and is useful dating material, as are coins and fashion accessories, rings , brooches, etc. . Like modern times buildings go through different states over their lifetime, extensions added, buildings enlarged, wd can tell if they were left to fall into disrepair/ruins, or usually they were dismantled and re usable brick ,roof tile , would be stacked and used for the next building, the Romans were good at recycling things, we often find buried hoards of scrap or broken buckles etc, ready to be melted and reused.. Banks didn't exist, so sometimes we find buried hoards of coins and other valuables, either the owner died without telling his family, or hoards outside the building, especially farm buildings we find buried coins, in places where no known trouble has occurred, we can't be sure but some must've been buried at night and then the tree or whatever markers ,seem the same in daylight, so either lost or person dying before telling his family, or if old without family just left until discovered by us , we always wonder how many undiscovered hoards there are in countryside that will never be discovered. Basically everything we do is photographed recorded, scale drawn for future reference. Completely different to people driving in vans looking for things to re sale , no matter how interesting it isn't a science, so I don't know why they call their buisness antique archaeology. Antique hunters would be more fitting. It does amuse British people who watch it when they see the guys buying something for a lot of money knowing our grandparents have a lot of similar things in their sheds , but nobody in Britain wants to buy the majority of things they purchase, I understand buying old Harley's pr old cars , but most of the stuff to us is just old tat nobody would want inside their homes, especially when they leave things all cruddy and dirty looking, they don't bother painting or cleaning anything because apparently people want things as they are . Some episodes are enjoyable tbf, especially when Danny is in them. :)
One man's junk is another man's treasure. It takes a TV show spending $30,000 an episode to pay so much money for junk. I have seen Aerial Square 4's and other "Vintage" motorbikes sell for a lot less in Saxmunden, UK than they buy them for in Iowa. ROTFLMAO!
@@jamesburns2232 I guess that's true enough, 'one mans junk' etc , I've had a lot of old classic cars and bikes from, Brits , USA , Italy, and a range of Japanese bikes. Its amazing how much they've all gone up in price compared to what I was paying a couple of decades ago. Shame we can't go back keep and store them all up . :)

I like it because they go to places in America that I would never think of going I mean living in New York where people are on top of each other you see a lot of beautiful land like un-touch land. And I didn't know old rusty things can be worth so much.
They almost gave inspiration to a short lived Canadian version.... Called, you guessed it, Canadian Pickers. Actually was not a bad show in its own right. I think it was 3 seasons
I liked Canadian Pickers and still watch the reruns. Tbh Scott and Sheldon were as good as Mike and Frank but I think Mike's used car salesman personality is what won a lot of people over. Or fooled them/me because he's not coming out of the Frank being fired stuff looking very good. But isn't that how things go? Once you become rich and famous people start looking for ways to bring you down and make you look bad. Look at OJ people used to love him 😜.
I've been to the Antique Archaeology store in Iowa and absolutely none of the "picked" items were for sale. You could look, but not touch. They were more than happy to sell you t-shirts, DVDs, and coffee cups though. Huge disappointment! Danielle's store did actually have antique items for slae.
My son got to try on a leather jacket at the Iowa store that got a higher than average amount of screen time. When the lady (not a person seen on the show) told him the price my son took it off VERY carefully. He got some antique archaeology pins instead.

aint it , i live in eastern ky , no aint banged my cousin, never sleep with my brothers wife so dont go there, but anyway i used buy plenty of old signs at local fle markets , garage sales etc. year after this show aired everyone has them for sale but nobody is selling any though , killed the market here is all i do know i guess on signs anyway . just way to high , i may be to but still facts ! later man
A few people I've heard of have told me that they've met these two in person, and basically said they considered them more or less "rude" in reality, even though they seemed like nice people on TV, and by that they meant that they would talk people down to absurdly low levels on things.
Better than Pawn stars, I never saw them take advantage of anyone but I've seen them tell the seller their item was worth more and then worked out a fair price.... that's good for me
Pawn stars would be better without chumlee, rick etc , I'm more interested in the old historical items brought into the shop , rebecca and the beard of knowledge are interesting to listen to, but the show is far to much about the owner his son and chum, I'm not interested in their back counter antics, I see so many interesting things in the cabinets , but nobody talks about them .
When the show started 10 some years ago there were people on the Internet saying that these guys were ripping off old people .I think Mike’s all right the little guy that’s so much and actually after losing that weight a year ago he does not look very healthy just my opinion I like hunting for old stuff too but not to this degree

Honestly the fact about Danielle shocked me, because I never knew much about her outside of the show quite honestly. 🤔 My favorite character hands down is Mike Wolfe, because he is always on a mission for amazing collectibles for vintage relics, while Frank on the other hand is decent too, but sometimes he gets too emotional at times. 😂🤔 And Danielle is decent woman but has way too many tattoos otherwise very good looking woman but that’s all I have to say. 🤔
I like both men equal and I feel sad they broke away after being mates for many years. Common Mike get in touch with Frank and join forces again. This is my best show.
I think in the early seasons they did pull up to random houses and you can tell by some of the peoples reactions when they come to the door with cameras. Later on it seemed more staged
I can't understand divorcing her. I know women can be controlling and abusive like a man. I don't know if that's her problem. But I'd pound the sheets all day with that.
What surprised me most is that something like this hasn't come out sooner, after all Mike and Frank have both become wealthy from the show. Knowing the human nature of people in these times we are living in, all they want to do is tear people down and destroy their credibility. We are surrounded by constant boo hoo. All people do anymore is hunt for something or someone to make their cause. They are jealous of the success Mike and Frank have attained and they want to steal it from them. I love American Pickers and l hope it doesn't end.More power to the pickers....I want to see Daniel dance in person. The pickers were in the little town l live in last week but l didn't bother them bedside l knew they were working.😎

I do remember an episode where Mike and Frank are in this rusty old bard and Mike pulls out a Beatles Butcher Cover album. I saw this and went WTF how did this wind up in an old barn? Had to be a plant I could have understood if it was some record collector and his collection but in a rusty old barn sorry folks had to be a fix
I think just about everyone that watches the show know that the sites are scouted out in advance. Doesn't matter because most watch it for the history of the things they find.
I should have known that it was set up The show was interesting. When it first came on I didn,t miss an episode.There were some nice looking lady's. I liked the lady they bought the cash register from in Al. Mike said favored Dolly.She was prettier.I was sad to see that Pam the lady that had the drug store had passed at the end of the show.I will still watch it until it ends.
Mike Wolfe IS the show. It's a shame that over the years reality tv has become anything but reality. It has been a great show but perhaps it has run its course. A lot of people like Danielle but it seems like once Mike's brother and Danielle were essentially able to jump right in and start picking, the show lost a lot of its aura. The changing personnel made it seem like almost anyone could do it and it lost some of its luster and mystique.
Its not The lads from the show its the executives that instruct them for continuity so dont blame them I have emailed mike about a bike he bouhht didnt even get a reply
I happened to sit next to Mike at a bar in one of his location cities. I didn't know who he was, because I had never seen the show. In the conversation, I asked if he was in town for business. He said yeah. "What business was that?" He said HBO? "Oh yeah..what do you do for HBO?". I'm one of the people on one of their shows?". The guy was really nice to talk to. A real "regular guy". I would guess you don't find many people like him in the "world of show Biz".
Interesting how the mention Mike a Frank antique stores, but not Danielle's store were she sales the clothes that she designs and makes. Some of the information in this video was also mentioned in one of the episodes of American Pickers. Also duh...! it's staged and scripted! It's a reality show; if Mike and Frank just showed up uninvited on someone's property in the country without the producers setting everything up first..every other episode would consist of them picking buckshot out of there backsides in a hospital somewhere.
Thanks for the video. I’d see these shows on tv and I thought they were contemporary. Guess I’m a bit naive. My impressions, you ask? For me, the most interesting points were those that discussed hands on work in production. Reality tv cannot be totally real but this was much more scripted than I thought. Danielle was an interesting draw, in view of the fact she was the only photo on the TH-cam channel. Kind of misleading but what else is new. Go Facts Verse!
I personally (in 2008) met the three woman, fat man, and skinny man. I was a parking enforcement Officer, and they were in SC (to have some fun). They were very nice and pleasant. They were not the "divas" one hears about.
Of course they're going to be nice to you. You're the law And it was 2008. I can I just tell Mike is a jerk It's all over him. He can't hide it People like Mike are jerks in general. But he could have acted nice when they first started, or he could have been two faced Like a lot of people
I know for a fact that the show has always been staged just like Antiques Roadshow, Pawn Stars, American Restoration, Storage Wars etc., etc....period. These were intended and produced for entertainment purposes and while very misleading they did serve to have people look more carefully at grandpa's "old junk".

Honestly the fact about Danielle shocked me, because I never knew much about her outside of the show quite honestly. 🤔 My favorite character hands down is Mike Wolfe, because he is always on a mission for amazing collectibles for vintage relics, while Frank on the other hand is decent too, but sometimes he gets too emotional at times. 😂🤔 And Danielle is decent woman but has way too many tattoos otherwise very good looking woman but that’s all I have to say. 🤔
I like both men equal and I feel sad they broke away after being mates for many years. Common Mike get in touch with Frank and join forces again. This is my best show.

I think in the early seasons they did pull up to random houses and you can tell by some of the peoples reactions when they come to the door with cameras. Later on it seemed more staged

What surprised me most is that something like this hasn't come out sooner, after all Mike and Frank have both become wealthy from the show. Knowing the human nature of people in these times we are living in, all they want to do is tear people down and destroy their credibility. We are surrounded by constant boo hoo. All people do anymore is hunt for something or someone to make their cause. They are jealous of the success Mike and Frank have attained and they want to steal it from them. I love American Pickers and l hope it doesn't end.More power to the pickers....I want to see Daniel dance in person. I do remember an episode where Mike and Frank are in this rusty old bard and Mike pulls out a Beatles Butcher Cover album. I saw this and went WTF how did this wind up in an old barn? Had to be a plant I could have understood if it was some record collector and his collection but in a rusty old barn sorry folks had to be a fix

The show was interesting. When it first came on I didn,t miss an episode.There were some nice looking lady's. I liked the lady they bought the cash register from in Al. Mike said favored Dolly.She was prettier.I was sad to see that Pam the lady that had the drug store had passed at the end of the show.I will still watch it until it ends.

Mike Wolfe IS the show. It's a shame that over the years reality tv has become anything but reality. It has been a great show but perhaps it has run its course. A lot of people like Danielle but it seems like once Mike's brother and Danielle were essentially able to jump right in and start picking, the show lost a lot of its aura. The changing personnel made it seem like almost anyone could do it and it lost some of its luster and mystique.

Rumor has it that the last year of filming, the two were arguing on the set constantly, and a few times it almost came to fisticuffs.
I happened to sit next to Mike at a bar in one of his location cities. I didn't know who he was, because I had never seen the show. In the conversation, I asked if he was in town for business. He said yeah. "What business was that?" He said HBO? "Oh yeah..what do you do for HBO?". I'm one of the people on one of their shows?".
The guy was really nice to talk to. A real "regular guy". I would guess you don't find many people like him in the "world of show Biz".
Interesting how the mention Mike a Frank antique stores, but not Danielle's store were she sales the clothes that she designs and makes. Some of the information in this video was also mentioned in one of the episodes of American Pickers. Also duh...! it's staged and scripted! It's a reality show; if Mike and Frank just showed up uninvited on someone's property in the country without the producers setting everything up first..every other episode would consist of them picking buckshot out of there backsides in a hospital somewhere.

Thanks for the video. I’d see these shows on tv and I thought they were contemporary. Guess I’m a bit naive. My impressions, you ask? For me, the most interesting points were those that discussed hands on work in production. Reality tv cannot be totally real but this was much more scripted than I thought. Danielle was an interesting draw, in view of the fact she was the only photo on the TH-cam channel. Kind of misleading but what else is new. Go Facts Verse!

I personally (in 2008) met the three woman, fat man, and skinny man. I was a parking enforcement Officer, and they were in SC (to have some fun). They were very nice and pleasant. They were not the "divas" one hears about.

I know for a fact that the show has always been staged just like Antiques Roadshow, Pawn Stars, American Restoration, Storage Wars etc., etc....period. These were intended and produced for entertainment purposes and while very misleading they did serve to have people look more carefully at grandpa's "old junk".
