    This was actually the bonus section at the end of another video, but I added sound samples and did some other 'sprucing up'

    The previous video made me buy this. I just used it Sunday like it was my amp. Pedals in front and rolled. Worked great.

      So glad it worked out! I really love mine, all the pro's and con's aside I'll never get rid of it. Here's another cool thing I figured out... it fits in the compartment on many hard shell guitar cases. So when I jam with my one buddy I usually take my epiphone casino, and I fit this pedal and a couple cables right in the compartment and I only have to carry one thing. On a scale of 1 to 10 for how slick I feel when I walk in with my whole rig in one case, it's an 11.

      I’ve owned the HX Stomp and the Iridium was thinking the Kemper Player or Tonex. After this I might stack the Ruby with the Dream.

      @@MattLawrence3 I've played the Ruby, and it's magical. If you run the Ruby and the Dream, you won't be sad. I'm not impressed with the Kemper player for the money, but I recently received a Kemper toaster as a gift and I'll be leaning into that for a while. I'll have some kemper videos out starting in the next couple weeks, there's a lot to like about it. I don't have any experience with the tonex, but I've used HX Stomp and HX Effects a lot.

      @@MattLawrence3 I have both Ruby and Tonex and I compared them side to side ( mostly Amalgam Vox AC30 captures on the Tonex ) and in my opinion Ruby was not only sounding better, but was also more fun to play. I really hoped that the Tonex wins this shootout, because it has MIDI and is much more flexible but that wasn't the case unfortunately. Knowing that the Tonex does the capturing more accurately than the Kemper ( according to "null tests" ) that makes UAD a winner amongs all these options ( at least soundwise ).
      Last but not least, UAD pedals knobs react pretty much the same way as the real amp tone stack does. With the Kemper or Tonex - if you want to make a significant change to your tone, you need to look for a different capture for it to sound realistically. So if you are looking for a specific tone, then you need to spend hours to find a capture that sounds the way you want to. I know you can also make your own captures but that's a different story.

      @michatulik Awesome! I ended up running UA Dream and UA Ruby parallel with a Duophony. I am in love with tone I was able to achieve! I picked this trick up from Mark Johnson Secret weapons videos.. happy tone hunting!

    Bro, when you be said Bluetooth is unreliable... I felt that... In. my. soul. Maybe that guy who suggested the iPad is on to something, but I'd still always prepare a back up plan.

    I have the same settings. :D the Bass knob depends on what guitar i play ( Les Paul 9000-1030, Jazzmaster 9000-1230. But yes 1030 is just fine for overall.

      Thanks for the tip. My settings are for my Les Paul, but I was planning on sitting down and working out settings for my strat and casino. I'll start with the bass knob.
      ... On my HX amp setups, I use EQ blocks or multiband compressors at the front of the signal chain to bridge the gap, but it hasn't translated well on the dream pedal.

    Awesome stuff, how do you compensate for the volume jump on the Dtex mod?

    • @BillySoundFarm
      @BillySoundFarm  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks! I don't compensate for it... I just live with it. Maybe I just don't pick as hard for semi-cleans, and the od pedal tones are so compressed that it's not much different. In all honesty, even though I do perceive a volume jump, whenever I have measured the input level with my computer it's actually not different in volume from the others. So I go back and forth between believing it's louder and believing it's not louder, but either way I just live with it.

      Just released a video with more comprehensive sound samples, if you're interested: th-cam.com/video/a5DMVOjfQQQ/w-d-xo.html ... The volume jump on dtex is definitely noticable, I guess I just play louder for those songs 😂
