- Today's card trick tutorial is about my favorite way to vanish a playing card! It uses a technique called the rub-a-dub vanish and I will teach you my handlings and how to really make the card look like it disappears in front of the spectators eyes! Enjoy!

Holy shiet. The secret is to use it as a kunai. Also, I see some piggie influence right here in this video. Ooh boi
PigCake yeah it's sort of your style especially 'moist'.
LMAO!! Yes.
You are a fucking legend

Chris, tomorrow I'm going to buy my first deck of playing cards. By now I'm practing coin magics, because is all I got and I'm loving it. I learned some basic tricks to vanish and teleport coins. It's being greatful to see the reaction of my friends when I perform. As you thought me, I'm using our normal daily conversations to call a magic trick and suddenly the coin desappear in front of their eyes! They say "Wow, can you do it again?!", and as you thaught me, I use this as a call for another trick.
I was thinking about magic and revealing the tricks. I might be wrong, but I would like to share my thoughts. Some people might complain about the actual exposure magic is receiving, but I believe that the more people talk about how to do magic, the more magic will keep alive. Why? Because I noticed that even before understanding and learning how to do a trick, I still enjoy watching magic tricks. After learning how to do the same trick that blew your mind and realising that you can't do it as clean as the magician, makes it much more valuable. I believe that as for sports, when you understand what's going on, you can have another perception of a match, but some people don't like to play or study the game. The same for magic, some people like just to watch, others like to study and practice. The more people studying and pushing magic forward, the better for all magicians and public.
*Fernando Araujo*
Imo, there are many difference between exposure and teaching. The main one being intent. Teaching videos are made with the intention of helping other people perform the trick properly.
They include multiple tips to make the sleights easier and the performance better. Channels like Chris, PigCake, and Xavior Spade among many others fall into this category. They truly want to get more people into magic.
Exposure videos will often just show the method for the sake of revealing the method. This would be like Magic’s Biggest Secrets Revealed, Yamato, etc. They just want attention for exposing secrets.
Well, you both guys are right. But yeah, the difference is teaching and exposing
Chris, you are awesome. Your tutorials take a layman to expert so well. I love how you teach someone how to sell the illusion rather than just perform a half-ass trick. Keep kicking Copperfield to the curb.
Mr. Ramsay,
Thank you for making these vids. I used to do magic with my dad to learn hand eye cordination and performance (had lots of difficulties as a child); he passed...i had life issues and am now relearning basics...
These give me hope i might perform again one day...
Bless you.
I have been in the magic game for all of 2-3months now...currently (nov-2018) I'm practicing my thumb fan and I've probably done about 300 during this video plus a 100 or so turnover passes. I can do the snap change pretty well now that was the first thing I wanted to learn. I'm 30 btw and I just found something new that Im digging and who would of thought it would be card tricks of all things, Chris Ramsay is such a G in this magic game on youtube, gotta be the best host out there, love the puzzle solve vidz man. Big ups!
I'm envious of your mits Ramsay. My fingers are so skinny, with so many windows, I can barley palm a card
at least you can move your thumb to do this move, I'm just a small magician with small hands XD, please let me grow bigger hands.
I have huge hands (can palm a basketball) and it gets a bit awkward with the deck
Buy Bicycle cards bridge size, they are slightly smaller in width than standard cards
I have tiny, skinny hands for a 13 year-old.
@Fiky man is spot on with that tip, Cardini(One of the all-time greats) used to use bridge sized cards for most of his performances that involved palming, no shame in it
Over the years your videos have become SO MUCH BETTER and more interesting. Thank you for your work.
Bro prolly makes every party he goes to hella lit doing tricks 😂
Your version of the vanish playing card is the best i've ever seen. Also vanishing with the notepad is much better and so deceptive :)
bro the many natural double entendre's in just this one episode is actually impressive
I ended up getting good at this. I incorporate this move with the drop. Where you leave the top card (2) hanging over the edge. And when you drop the whole deck your card flips over. So I use this to vanish their card, hold the whole deck up, drop it. And boom their is their card on top of deck flipped over on its own (from the drop). Blows their minds. Simply mixing 2 of your tricks together you taught me.
You could just do it on a small child’s head *pauses awkwardly*
you actually could do it to your kid. maybe cousin
What... this was THE BEST Performance of this Vanish I have EVER seen!
what about the segment here? 0:55
Nope sry
Dont agree
Digitally edited
No way. Glenn Morpew's take on this vanish is the way to go.
Please start doing these bonus clips/ bloopers at the end bc that just gave me some life thanks
You need to play in a viking movie, who agrees?
He looks like ragnor lothbroke

U fit to be ragnarok son
All hail king RAMSAY
It's a bit more effective if you angle the card off the top of the deck at an angle, pinning it with your thumb by the corner. That way, it seems as far away from the deck as possible and looks like it *couldn't possibly* move back onto the deck without being visibly out of square. But, in fact, it pivots around the tip of your index finger and lines up perfectly.
MY HANDS ARE SO SMALLL
Same lol

Same and I’m so latw

Lol sAME
Step 1, hide 52 cards and memorize where each one is.
Step 2, let someone pick a random card from duplicate deck and show everyone.
Step 3, do rub a dub with duplicate deck.
Step 4, tell them where to find their card from 1st deck.
Oh I'm here bright and early today!! what we learning?! #RamFam
Hey Chris, I just wanted to say that you are such a big inspiration to me and I look up to you so much. I found you and you got me intro magic, and now I am starting a magic channel because of you. I hope one day I could meet you, if you ever came to Virginia, or New York maybe. Anyways, I just wanted to tell you how much you have changed my life, and inspired me. Also, can’t wait for my 2 decks of 1st playing cards to come!
Much love, Nick :)
Love the channel man. Started collecting some cards learning some magic and cardistry because of u man. Love the channel.
Chris you're such an inspiration to me. Thanks for introducing me to this wonderful world of illusionism. I love people react when i perform!
Bro, my family was just in NY, as well!
I’m glad that they AND you got back safely, and weren’t affected by the bombing!
I didn’t know there was a bombing
Hi Chris... you will get even more retention of vision when you let stay your fingers opened a little bit until the moment you retain the card back to the deck.
2:31 WHED IT GOU?
Hilarious, engaging, honest, and educational. Well done. Keep up the good work and I hope you and yours have a magical holiday season.
BTW, keeping control of the card at the edge of the deck is hard! Any tips? Beyond practice, that is.
Literally whenever I do these vanish tricks to my friends and family, they can't be fooled
Same 😢
4:58 look how much of a difference it makes to get that top card square onto the deck. That's the only difference between the real and fake, but it makes all the difference
You are the best Chris
...of them all
of the mall
I have seen so many card tricks that I understand the solution instantly.
But it's quite good for beginners
i watched this 100 times and I still didn't learn a thing ! i couldn't stop laughing . Rammy, dude , you're hilarious ! i was having a really bad week . Thank You !!!
I just recently picked up magic again as a hobby after a few years hiatus. I used to use this sleight all the time and I totally didn't catch it. Totally following.
I was practicing this in class and I guess my friend was watching and it scared the crap out of him.
lol, whenever i practiced in school, (ya' know before school was closed... XD), i would have people slowly crowd around me during lunch and then they would freak out XD
Man you are majestic, you really bring the fun and life back to magic. I want you to know I appreciate you so much for that.
👏👏👏👏👏❤
First lol
This made my morning! Thanks for the performance tips and the laughs...your great editing really kicks it up a notch!
I’m just gonna pretend I didn’t see that and be amazed 😂😂😂
In other peoples tutorials they are boring and just plain but you Chris are funny and actually have a personality in all these !
hey Chris. you know something ? you have RAM FAM army member even in middle east man .i can't name the country because of some sort of things :)I feel like you are my cool friend now .ALL THE LOVE FROM HERE YOU U MY GOOD BUD.

Thanks, great work!

Who found out how it worked before told
Honestly as good as this tutorial is, I come back for the personality and the character that is Chris Ramsey, I saw this effect on another channel before but the effect came across so monotone because of the person who made the video, but your presentation of it makes it look like you could do so much more with it and you make it a little more enjoyable.
Also I noticed you weren't wearing the rings you usually wear, I hope there hasn't been a fallout in the sentimental value found in the ring
Chris: lemme grab my table here
* pops knee out *
I see your tutorials are more dedicated to card tricks, but I always wanted to learn the coin trick, with one in each corner and just moving them to one corner by covering them with the palms. If you teach it you'll be my new found god.
"It's easy to perform on small children" xD
I love how energetic you were
"rub one off"
Chris: hol up
I need to get into youtube. This is one of those slieghts that just work well because its easy and pretty convincing when done right (pulled back. A form of retention) and you managed a 15 mins video! I'm in!
"A lot of the magic is happening in their mind... holes..."
*** Yo!! Love your tutorials, me recovering from spinal compression feacture, i feel learning from u is the best thing i can do wile 2 months of bedrest.
me from India.
Magicians always pick lint off of their matts as they are talking before the trick. I should design a magic prop lint roller
After the +30 videos I have watched since being a sub, you have finally convinced me to start learning magic. Just seeing the fun you have in doing it, and seeing it, has shown me a different perspective on magicians. Keep up the great content and hope your voice comes back soon😂
your a year late
you're
Yo bro! you wanna trade voices with me?
I love the way u explain the tricks.... It's so much fun n exciting to learn!!!
10:05 look at the deck, he is pretty good at cardestry acctually
Great tutorial! I already knew this move, but thanks so much for more ways to vanish the card the just on the table under your hand. Can't wait to come up with a new routine!
One day at the pub i saw a guy coming by to drink a beer. He asked the set of cards we usually use to play belote. It was the only one set of cards in that pub and they were all dirty i remember them good. The guy came at the table right on my side i was having a drink with my gf at of that time. He started playing alone with the cards while drinking his beer he had a t'shirt and short for it was summer time so he couldn't hide any other sets of cards on his arms or anywhere. He was started showing cards for himself it was normal set all cards nothing special then he mixed them and show them again and boom all the cards when in perfect order 1 2 3 4 5 and so on of the same color. He mixed them again and show them now they were all kings then same thing with queens and aces then he mixed them again and boom all mixed up then again all in order. I was like 50cm of him on his side. I had never figured out how the hell he did that and right under my noze... i didn't sleep that night trying to understand how the hell he did that and still to this day i wonder how it is possible to do so. Can you do that on cam or do you anyone capable of doing it?
Wow...
Simple and easy to learn. Thanks for the tute!

When I get bored and think about giving up I look at your video and get creativity and motivation. Thank you! ;)
I slowed down the vid and I was able to see it clearly....flashed😂
I wanted to Thank You for showing this amazing trick!!!! I watched this the other day and got the chance to try it out with some friends just a minute ago.....
Watching their eyes light up was Magical!!!!!
fuck that is visual as fuck
fuck
Crack
Very nice and visual!
And when ur hiding the deck, bring the card to the bottom (or cardini change if you can) and u may have another wow. Just my thoughts.
Rubba lubba dub dub
This retraction in turning down motion looks really great
2:45 He's not talking about sex right?
I really liked the version in the air. The knee showed flashes every time. (But I was looking for them). And I couldn't do it better so who cares what I think anyway. Lol. You rock!!! Keep it up, bro.
11:31 IM GAY
Sleight of hand magic is my favorite. Mind reading sucks. Most big magic is just mirrors and knowing that ruins it. But sleight of hand you can look for the trick and still be fooled
I am kinda gay but I somehow wanna be his girlfriend
Kind of want to be your boyfriend 😅
MrFantumx WOW THE THURST
100%
Thats because gay doesnt exist, man is made to be loved or feel attracted to woman, woman is made to be loved or feel attracted by man
Simple example, when 2 of them are sleeping, you know which part of man is going into the woman, God took care for everything, and thats how children are made, 2 man or 2 woman cant naturally have children
@@lazarmistoljski3881 what are you on? What did you take before commenting this? Lmao
I did this to my dad and he was amazed and. I just love how simple this is.
so so smooth with the first one omg
I simply love your way of teaching!! You're awesome man!! I always laugh watching you and at the end of it I always learn something new!! Thanks a lot
I love your videos Chris, and I love the way you show the tricks and explain them and also give props to other magicians. Especially I like your puzzle solving, you are the man! So in this video I particularly love your jacket, where does that come from? Di did you magic that, or was it slight of hand?
You are one of the best magician iv ever seen u are the person who tot me every thing I know
It looks like borderless cards will help with a clean performance until someone really gets the slight down to being fast and clean. But I certainly am no authority. My best trick is turning a selected card into the top card (not moving. Literally finishing by showing them whatever the top card is). I’m still practicing, though!
You are very energetic today Chris! Which I fully appreciate right now since I'm under so much uni exam stress! 😂
Like the vanish Looking forward to the deck
Oh my god! I'm on the floor. You're hilarious and I haven't even gotten to the tutorial part yet!
Love ur magic soo much! So easy yet so effective!
Such a strong effect. I first learned this when I learned the invisible palm routine by Wayne Houchin. I appreciate your explanation of the psychology - prompts more handlings as utility vanish! Keep up the great work, Chris!
If u already palm a card beforehand and do the rub a dub it can be a card change or color change
Thank you for showing me the rub a dub doesn't suck. Now to do practice it all over again.
I hope you read this. Ive been a fan for a while. You have the best personality out of all the magicians ive checked out. You literally seem like youd click right in my friend circle.i love you man. Never change! (Im basically announcing my bromance for you) lmao
So glad we could finally see your take on this
Hey Chris, please don't let de the votes from yesterday change how you run your channel. Keep doing what you want to do. I fucking love your tutorials, but you know, you channel isn't about them, it's about you and whatever you want to post. You're a really awesome dudd
I won’t and THANKS!
Monday is tutorial day
I can't wait for your video with Mike Boyd ! :)
your tutorials are so good ive learned really good tricks and have made my slight of hand really clean
Wow, at full speed I just cannot tell you grabbed that card on the first example. Very well done!
