Just picked up this car today, I must say... I love it!!! The price, the warranty, everything is more than I could have hoped for at this price range. I am fully happy with my purchase, look into it, you will not be disappointed.
I love the startup. Along with the Sport Hatchback, the 16'' alloy wheels, turn signals (and the sound) on the mirrors. I don't like the standard hatchback much, but customizing the Sport Hatchback is fun and looks very nice and sporty. The 2014 model looks really nice and sounds modern too, even though very basic to some. I think Hyundai has made progress in the recent years. Whether it's viewed as a rental or not, it's a nice car.
How long have you had the car? I may look at a used one. 2012 with 49K miles. $7995. A little higher price than I think for a 2012. Anything to look out for? Is it an all around good driving, lower maintenance car? It is the SE automatic in light blue.
As usual Kyle, your reviews are stellar and comprehensive. Looks like a fantastic car for those looking for good value in the sub-compact market. Again, a really good review. Thanks.
I once fitted an aftermarket radio to a 1.3 auto Hyundai Accent Mk 1 and it took me about 3 hours because it had a load of non standard brackets and physical headaches. Three thankless hours messing about in a hateful pile of metal and plastic. I vowed never again would I get close to such a creation. This video is as close as I have come since. I simply couldn't find anything to love about it and coined it the Hyundai 'Effort', a sarcastic slur suggesting a lack of love.
Got this car too. Nice take off. I got the 6spd SE. Gas is nice and the look. The only thing is getting use to using my side mirrors to change lanes. Limited visibility for the back takes getting use to. Satellite xm radio, cruise control, bluetooth, came standard. Smooth clutch i got to say. And the price 16k...is amazing for what you get. I average 28-35mpg since my foot is heavy on the gas at times..hehe. That's why I got manual...
Keep sending good ole Hyundais over to Australia, we LOVE them cannot get enough AND we love Koreans!! I have an accent and they are such great value for money. Hyundai on baby!!!! LOLZ....
@RetroGamerVX The 'tappet' noise you're referring to is the noise direct injection makes in this car. DI is naturally louder. It has nothing to do with efficiency.
I have lots of experience with some older Hyundai products, and I can't believe I'm saying this... but Hyundai is actually starting to put out some respectable products.
Great video dude, but have you been doing something different with your transitions in your editing program? They seem a lot loss smoother between shots
took a look at the fiesta yesterday and was not as impressed and with the honda fit, but i also really wanted to check out the new hyundai accent but they where all sold out. seems like its a popular little car here in the west coast. hopefully i can test drive one soon to compare.
@saabkyle04 I'm so sorry that such a stupid argument is going on for this video. Thanks for your hard work for these videos! They're some of the best on youtube!
You're right. Chevy is Canada, Mexico, and barely US, and Toyota is Japan mostly. Hyundai and Kia have more plants in the US then anywhere else. Long live Hyundai and Kia! (:
I want to see you test drive a manual trans car again, you haven't done a vid since the last time with the Eclipse, or was it the Honda. Either way a vid with any 2011 vehicles with a stick would be fine. Thank you.
Can u get it with a sunroof because if u can i really like this car but i heard the kia rio is supposed to be the more sporty one with leather seats and navigation!
Hey kyle, i am wondering, can you show the price for each one you do at the end, since each car comes with diffrent packages and its really hard to picture the price with either alot of gadgets or less
@paintedd With the ventilation system? That recirculates cabin air rather than taking it from outside. Pretty sure every car has had it since at least the mid-eighties lol
@Ferrariman601 2004 Hyundai xg350 didn't have the annoying "bing bong" chime though. So not all had them, from what I know only the elantra and the accent had them.
its not laziness. some people actually get stressed driving stick because it adds that much more stress to the roads. And as for people who live in the city, its a huge pain to constantly have to shift gears. and how does it affect YOU?
I need help. I am trying to decide between the 2013 Hyundai Accent SE, 2012 Kia Rio 5-Door Ex, or the Honda Fit Sport (with navigation). My biggest priority is reliability. I want my car to require no maintenance for at-least five years. I also want the car to have a roomy interior, especially in the back. I also want the car to have a lot of features, and I am willing to pay extra money for this. Gas mileage is not a huge concern.
Haha. When he reached for the shifter he started talking about the transmission and what not. Then he reached for the parking brake I said out loud, “don’t Even say anything!!” Haha. this some good smoke boi, gang gang.
@GeneralGHustler I have a Lexus IS, but either way, Hyundai's come a long way. I just don't understand why people can't understand the fact that just because something was bad before, doesn't mean it can't be better now.
@DetroitBORG I partly agree. I agree that the Fiesta is much nicer. In fact I have yet to find a better sub-compact in North America. But I think the Accent is much better than the sonic. I know cost-cutting is common in this class, but the Sonic is truly built to a budget. It has rear drum brakes for example, even on the highest trim. (From what Ive seen)
All 3 have their ups. if you want comfort, all three are good. like you said, you want a lot of features, i would advice you to pick the Honda. for reliability i would go for the Hyundai. and for a flashy car i would go for the KIA(i have used a 2012 KIA Rio LX hatch with A/T).
@FrenchValleyAirport The odometer on the car had 7 miles on it... something about that struck me as weird lol. Nobody I know has ever owned a car with less than 40k on it lol
@mel2171994 An SE 5-Door with automatic costs about 17K, but you can't really get any options on it, so Its fully loaded. You can get a GS for a bit cheaper though
Just picked up this car today, I must say... I love it!!!

How is it?
Every time you say "Let's check out the exterior, shall we?"
I repeat in my head "We shall."
What a great little car. Such an improvement in design over the previous generation. Hyundai is really impressing me with their new lineup.
test drove this today, purchasing it tomorrow !! I Love Love Love it !! !
Do you still have it?
I admire Hyundai's designs. In a couple of years they'll be a leading manufacturer I swear it!

I have this car! As of February 2021, it has 108,000 miles and the only maintenance I have done so far has been tires and brakes.
How long have you had the car? I may look at a used one. 2012 with 49K miles. $7995. A little higher price than I think for a 2012. Anything to look out for? Is it an all around good driving, lower maintenance car? It is the SE automatic in light blue.
Hyundai really did it right with this generation of the Accent.
Great video as usual!
1st Ride: 18 August 2021
its a 6 speed, i just bought a 2012 rio 5 door for my wife and it is mechanically identical to the accent. great cars
I love this car! Definetly want it in blue! :)
While Indispensable is only for the sedan, for the hatchback is Gold In You only

This would a great first car. It's perfect for something cheap but new

Looks good. This little car has come a big way design-wise since it first came to the US.
Hyundai is dominating!! Their new Genesis is BEAUTIFUL!! It looks just like a fancy Mercedes or Lexus, but without the price tag!
Keep sending good ole Hyundais over to Australia, we LOVE them cannot get enough AND we love Koreans!! I have an accent and they are such great value for money. Hyundai on baby!!!! LOLZ....
nice car... look forward to test drive it...
nice videos man!
You sure get a heck of a lot of features for a sub-compact. Nice little car.
@RetroGamerVX The 'tappet' noise you're referring to is the noise direct injection makes in this car. DI is naturally louder. It has nothing to do with efficiency.
Hurm. I like it. I like they got rid of the chime too. Great vid Kyle!
I have lots of experience with some older Hyundai products, and I can't believe I'm saying this... but Hyundai is actually starting to put out some respectable products.
Great review bro. Get me one super cheap and I'm sold.
I have this car July 2024 with 110k miles I love it great on gas maintenance excellent 👍🏽😊
Nice Hatchback
Great video dude, but have you been doing something different with your transitions in your editing program? They seem a lot loss smoother between shots
Im gonna buy one by the end of this month!

very very nice little car.

Great video.
You're correct, the Australian version Accent has a different power-train and transmission than what is offered in the US.
I want to see you test drive a manual trans car again, you haven't done a vid since the last time with the Eclipse, or was it the Honda. Either way a vid with any 2011 vehicles with a stick would be fine. Thank you.
I love their gear back to check the car
HatchBack Is Better Then The Seden Version
Dolfy Gaming Nah
Newman757 _YT most definitely, I have one too
DerpyBellic Gaming _YT in my opinion the sedan is has the better looks
Can u get it with a sunroof because if u can i really like this car but i heard the kia rio is supposed to be the more sporty one with leather seats and navigation!
Would love to see a Yaris hatchback video, have one of those lying around?
kyle can you pliz do a review of the hyundai veloster 2012 ? nice vid by the way. thanks
Can u please do a video on the 2011 Honda pilot touring and a 2011 Honda accord coupe ex-l v6
Hey Kyle do you think you could get a newer model Scion tC? thanks love the vids!
1:03
All the 2012 accents come with a 6 speed manual, with the option of the 6 speed auto.
Cheers!
Hey kyle, i am wondering, can you show the price for each one you do at the end, since each car comes with diffrent packages and its really hard to picture the price with either alot of gadgets or less
Can you pleassss say the price of the cars in the vid or put it in description
Great car for the times, looks to be fairly roomy unlike some I have seen.
and the quality seems to be right there also.
can u do the all new Scion tC PLZ!! nice video too kyle!!
I own 1 just like that 1 and I love it
hey kyle how about doing a video on 2011 chevy malibu
by any chance can you do a review of the Lexus LX 570
@paintedd With the ventilation system? That recirculates cabin air rather than taking it from outside. Pretty sure every car has had it since at least the mid-eighties lol
@Ferrariman601 2004 Hyundai xg350 didn't have the annoying "bing bong" chime though. So not all had them, from what I know only the elantra and the accent had them.
It does remind me of the I30 Hatchback we have in the Netherlands
My dad told me that he might get me one of these for me! I have a few questions Kyle if you dont mind me asking?
awesome review as always kyle!
btw check out that video in the suggestions
"2012 Hyundai Accent Review"
Wow, I'm first! I love Hyundai's there are amazing!
What were they thinking with the rear?! AMAZING improvement, though.
But I'd still take the Fit or the Fiesta.
Best video
the previous generation accent had a 4 speed auto. the new 2012 models come with a 6 speed auto as an option over the standard 6 speed manual.
its not laziness. some people actually get stressed driving stick because it adds that much more stress to the roads. And as for people who live in the city, its a huge pain to constantly have to shift gears. and how does it affect YOU?
Nice car!
@Jakeman2164 How is it awful? It looks good and is affordable.
probably. not many buyers in the value segment want unneeded accessories. thats why this car is the best value for its class.
love it!! love Hyundai
This car was already made before the Fiesta was even released as a concept. It was in Korea for a long time already.
I love my Hyundai Accent 2014 Hatchback very economical. Do not hesitate to buy if you are fan of it.
how much is the starting price of this usually?
Why is that because the final assembly was in America? To see where it is really made check where the parts were sourced.
I need help. I am trying to decide between the 2013 Hyundai Accent SE, 2012 Kia Rio 5-Door Ex, or the Honda Fit Sport (with navigation). My biggest priority is reliability. how did a race arguement start on a car preview.
Hey Kyle, can you do a 2011 Infiniti QX56. Please tell me if you can't so i can stop asking.
Haha. When he reached for the shifter he started talking about the transmission and what not. Then he reached for the parking brake I said out loud, “don’t Even say anything!!” Haha. this some good smoke boi, gang gang.
Excellent review but no mention of the number of airbags. Or at least, if it was mentioned, I missed it.
there are 6.
How much would one of these cost?
You should test drive the cars.
@GeneralGHustler I have a Lexus IS, but either way, Hyundai's come a long way. I just don't understand why people can't understand the fact that just because something was bad before, doesn't mean it can't be better now.

How much would one just like this go for?
@markkjay
I thought the same considering my neighbor owned a 2000 Accent GL and the starter sounded just the same.
the transmission on the 2010-present Hyundai Accent/ Hyundai i25/
Hyundai Accent Blue/ Hyundai Accent WIT (Hatchback, South Korea)/
Hyundai Solaris/ Hyundai Verna/ Hyundai Grand Avega (Hatchback)/
Dodge Attitude (Mexico)
Transmission
5-speed manual
6-speed manual
4-speed automatic
6-speed automatic
All 3 have their ups. if you want comfort, all three are good. like you said, you want a lot of features, i would advice you to pick the Honda. for reliability i would go for the Hyundai. and for a flashy car i would go for the KIA(i have used a 2012 KIA Rio LX hatch with A/T).
I would like to see Honda cross tour
Honda Fit and Ford fiesta, watch out there's a new player in town :D
@saabkyle04 looks like an i30 haha but of course great review.
@FrenchValleyAirport The odometer on the car had 7 miles on it... something about that struck me as weird lol. Nobody I know has ever owned a car with less than 40k on it lol
@2Kriss2Kross I agree, I had a 2010 Yaris hatch, and this Hyundai blows it away.
no one has demonstrated the rear seat folded down to show how much room there could be.
why didn't they go for a key fob ??
@Jakeman2164 I beg to differ, the Equus was designed by the now head of designs for Mercedes Benz.
why are they still using that starter made by mattel????????
@mel2171994 An SE 5-Door with automatic costs about 17K, but you can't really get any options on it, so Its fully loaded. You can get a GS for a bit cheaper though
I love mine! 2012…67,000 mi. On her! Always garaged -no rust!!!!
I miss the old hyundai door chime😭😭😭
Same! It sounds very similar to the old Toyota/Lexus chime.
plz do a dodge journey video
@gardmans1
lol I hate gauge sweeps, especially the ones that take like 5 seconds to finish
@dave11686 Oh yes! That chime that I think most if not all Hyundais had for such a long time... it was so strange...
beautyfull car, but i don't know this car and elantra hatchback are the same car or diffirent
