- Many thanks to Bob Mayberry Hyundai in Monroe, NC for allowing me to make this video! I forgot to do my usual dealer intro so I'm crediting in the description. In this video I give a full in depth tour of the all new 274hp 2011 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T. This particular one being a Limited. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

Pretty good car. Only car in the history that is worth more than it is sold for.
I have this exact car and it’s my favorite vehicle that I’ve owned and I get a TON of compliments on my car. Mine is black interior and exterior but I don’t have a backup camera.
People love to hate on Hyundai/Kia but I think they are so stylish! It's basically like a luxury car at a cheap price. However, old Hyundais are not very reliable. Only buy a Hyundai that is 2006 and up.
I am almost 24 years old and I can not afford a car, any kind of car, but I still go online and watch stuff like this clip.

That is a beautiful car. Its amazing how the style/design, guality, and sandard, as well as offered features, has come to very nice levels. You always do such a good job showing the curves and angles, etc. of the body designs.Two thumbs up, my friend.

Very comfortable, interior space is huge,it feels nimble, doesn't feel like you are driving a tank(though it's a big car) . Engine sounds very nice. Dash at night is gorgeous, and back-lit with blue, fog lights are WIDE. This car is a winner. Nothing has been left out. Power, comfort, Economy. Etc. They had to cut costs in interior or there'd be no profit left in making a car this good to drive. They spent the budget on the important stuff, The 2.0T is QUICK! Stock brakes are awesome aswell.
I just saw this car in our local mall and I must say, WOW!! The model I seen had an all black interior and I very much recomend that colour for the richness it gives this little diamond of a car! The price I have seen here in Canada, under $34,000! Thats for a fully loaded version :) Sadly these are used as rentals in Canada, pity really! Way to go Hyundai you've sold me!
I just drove one of these yesterday. It's sweet. I had fun playing with the steering wheel shifter paddles. The turbo model performs really well. Giving it some serious thought.
I always wanted a new Accord but as soon as i seen this car it changed my mind about all other cars
this car is so beautiful I keep forgetting what badge it is wearing!! It seems like I have been asleep for 10 years and missed the process where Korean cars became good

i too own a 2011 sonata and it is amazing i am so happy with my car whats not to love about it. Hyundai is doing amazing and i would always buy one no matter what.
I would love to see what would happen if Hyundai updated the Genesis Coupe 2.0 with the 2.0 in this car. That car would be a beast. 270+HP from a 2.0 4 Cylinder is pretty crazy by today's standards. Well done Hyundai. They really did a nice job with this one.

thank you for posting this. i used to never give hyundai a second thought, and my last experience with a sonata was a forgettable rental... but now i'm totally surprised at what the sonata has become. unfortunately my local hyundai dealer does not have stock and i can't see one one person which makes me appreciate your video here more... if i were local i would have given you a call to come and see you LOL
Absolutely an AMAZING car. The way the doors sound when they close, is amazing, it sounds like that of a Lexus. Although I can't say how I feel about the piano black trim, because of their reflectiveness, I like it more than Hyundai putting cheesy fake wood. I like the turbo whistle too.
Very nice. Hyundai has really stepped up their game in such a short amount of time. The 271HP for the 2.0T is undoubtedly impressive, especially when compared to the power output of 2.0L turbocharged engines made by Europeans.

The back side of this car is amazing, sadly my dad didn't trust the brand I didn't either but I would have gave it a chance but my dad got me 2012 v6 Altima yess

Ahhh! I have this car, except mine is gold, and I don't have the navigation system or the back camera! All around, I love my car! Great in gas if driven right! I average about 36, but due to the turbo and me being young and speeding a lot, I usually average around 26 mpg! My car was 31k, and every penny was worth it!

That was very clever, how they made it so when you close the visor, the light turns off. Interesting looking car. 2.0 Turbo must be fun, even better with a MTX!
The Optima looks better inside and out. The newest Sonata Turbo is a real disappointment with cheap-looking center stack and gauges, above-average road noise and excessive hard plastic. And did i mention the downgrade from 274 to 245 horsepower?
Like I said in a previous video, these are what I call "throwaway cars". I know that sounds bad but what I mean is, you probably won't want anything to do with it once the warranty has expired. Mine has been reliable, but for a 4 door sedan there's not much room in width. The seats go back far enough for me to get comfortable (6'2 190lbs), but my leg is constantly leaning on the console and it actually makes my leg sore after driving for half our or more. But these are decent reliable cars.
If I were in the market, it would be between this or the Ford Fusion..both great cars!

Anyone who thinks Hyundai's quality isn't up to par with Honda and Toyota are mistaken. Hyundai has caught up and even surpassed them on some things. Not only that, but most Hyundai cars are $2-3K less than their competitors.

Do a tour around the Equus! My parents just bought the Equus for Christmas and it's truly amazing. They were thinking about getting the Lexus LS460L, but they didn't care about the name brand.
@crackparty Yes that's why the sonata has better front leg room then the accord and camry. Also it has more width then both the camry and accord.

Excellent review with one missing point: are the dashboard and door surfaces hard or soft? Might want to include that in your future reviews.
Also, please pan the camera a little slower so your viewer can understand what's being shown. Edit if it's too long. I felt dizzy following the features you wanted to show.

@hms888 What i mean by saying that this car has potential is that this car, unlike other cheaper cars in segment (accord, camry) actually looks great, has good engines, and doesnt make you feel depressed every time you see it.

I was choosing between a Ford Fusion Sport, Chevy Cruze, and Hyundai Sonata. After looking at all, I ended up leaving the dealership with my 2011 Hyundai Sonata SE Turbo... I couldn't have made a better choice in my life! This car looks, feels, and that turbocharged engine is just beastly everything seems 10x better than the competition. Go with the Hyundai Sonata and I can guarantee you will not look back, I love my car!
distance to empty : 105 miles! for once it has some petrol in it! that's one generous dealer!
The only things that bother me about the new Sonata are at the rear of the car: gooseneck trunk hinges, instead of the nice struts of the last generation, and no LED taillamps like the rest of the world gets. That and a panorama sunroof would be nice on the turbo models.

@michael1215 the Power Tilting and Telescopic Wheel in most cars equipped with them automatically moves to the set position when the car is Started,i know in some cars the auto tilt away can be disabled,such as in a 1990 Lexus LS 400....not sure on this one.

@hms888 Ok, read what i wrote again....i've said that this car has POTENTIAL to be as good as premium cars, and its a shame it hasnt been made to compete in premium segment, but instead it was made to compete with cheap cars. Understand now? If they put just a little bit more effort in the design and quality of the interior, raised the price a bit, it would be able to compete with acura tsx, lexus is etc. And yes, i30 interior has better plastic inside even though its cheaper.

if you compare a toyota camry with the hyundai sonata, the sonata is cheaper for all the goodness and options.
it is also faster than the camry (if you're into that kinda stuff...)
it would've been nice if you talked about the safety features like how many airbags it has
I personally think the Optima looks better... But I was the last person to expect Hyundai to build something so striking.

In India the Sonata 2.4 GDi costs Rs 20,000,00 which is about 40,000 USD.
Really a nice car but i also noticed that this car has some similar features as kia optima or kia optima has some features like this for eg engine , heating Buttons for front seats placed on same spot, rear door looks same with each other and also open the same and the trunk space and the buttons for folding seats to increase space in trunk r same,but i really wanted to know the price for both the cars.....

@22josejf There is a compelling story going on at Hyundai. Hyundai has gone through many tough times in the past but one thing that you can count on about Hyundai is that they will never rest on what they are as of today. I am certain, Hyundai will be the biggest car company in a few years.
Gotta tell ya, Hyundai and Kia is making big moves.. and putting pressure on the others in the car world...

I think the Sonata is great, it's just that they need to refine their electric power steering as well as transmissions.
