Chris Eubank was one of my favourite fighters growing up he was savage in the ring but a real gentleman out of it, a lot of people mock him for his voice and his obscure personality but that’s what makes him so unique and interesting to this day
I met Chris Eubank years ago. He was getting his crocodile shoes fixed in Brighton while I was being served. We started chatting, had a photo together and said goodbye. Later that day he spotted me and my husband from the other side of the road and shouted across heavy traffic just to say hi to us again. He was really lovely, such a unique character and so interesting.
In a two second window, Greg's face says 'yeah, right, Chris Eubank is here' immediately followed by 'oh shit, Chris Eubank is here'. Everyone took it well though - genuinely tough people don't get touchy about their reputations, they are secure in themselves and can take a joke.
I'm from Brighton where Chris Eubanks lives. I used to hang out with his nephew when I was a kid. He's completely eccentric. Woudl drive around town in his giant pimped out truck in full horse riding gear.
He's the kind of guy who, if he were poor, would be called insane and unstable but he's rich so he's eccentric. I'm sure he's a nice guy, but he's as mad as a box of frogs.
Eubank was an incredible fighter, you wouldn't know it just from looks and the way he sounds. He's had lots of people parodying him over the years on T.V. and never seems to let it bother him.
Eubank was the best fighter of his generation, I know a lot of people wonder why Gregzilla was so terrified of him, well watch Eubank Vs Benn and you'll know why. Total gent, lovely person. Met him a few times, you know when celebs are short with words to get away, Chris is the opposite, he'll talk your ear off if you have time. Legend.
Part of my brain still thinks of him as 'Malcolm' lol, because whenever he was on Celebrity Juice, Keith Lemon would say that was his real name, I've not watched Celebrity Juice in ages....yet I still see Danny Dyer and think 'Malcolm' 😂 (I hear 'Maaalcolm' in a strong cockney accent as well, which is all the funnier because I'm Scottish 😆)
Chris Eubank is one those eccentric Brits that brings a smile to your face, unless he's punching it. He went through a time where he was dressing like an English squire with a monocle and riding boots. He also owns an American Mack truck which he drove around in for the fun of it. ✌️♥️🇬🇧
When you know that the person you've made fun of is now there and is only half your size yet can snap you like a dry twig... Well done Greg and Chris 🤣
@@4Kandlez Sorry, should there be an apostrophe? Other than that, yes, The Boomer's. They might not always be on screen together, but I trust that they are a tight, loving, fun filled unit. Have a lovely evening. xx
How funny would it have been if Chris, after the quotes were done, turned to Greg and said "I'll thee you outthide in the carpark, Davieth, you tother!" :)
The first guy is Danny Dyer, he's an "actor". He's more known for playing the character Danny Dyer in real life, he's a total caricature of what a Cockney geezer is like. He's funny and harmless, but he's also a bit of a clown, but in a likeable way. Him saying he was on a comedown means he's recovering from a drugs high, so was more emotional. Also, Chris Eubank was a fucking great boxer in his day, he was undefeated in his prime. So the fact he took it so well and joined in is amazing. He could have easily got offended and knocked Greg out but he just appreciated the fact it was making people smile. Eubank's always been an interesting guy, very eccentric and odd but a nice guy.
The guy at 2:55, Danny Dyer, was a voice actor in the game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. He played the character Kent Paul. Just a bit of trivia if you like gaming.
Eubanks v Benn or Watson from the 90s well worth a look. Brutal. Sadly Watson was disabled after a fight. Eubanks sons have had problems too. Massive problems. Chris is still considered a great English legend.
Chris Eubank Jr is a decent boxer himself though. I know he's had his critics but you don't hold a boxing title unless you are somewhat competent and he's had several. It was such a shame that his fight with Conor Benn was called off last month - Eubank v Benn in 2022 would have been such an event - 2 title holders going head-to-head just like their fathers
Always had a soft spot for Chris Eubank - the idea of the eccentric British gent - and he lived it. 52 professional fights, 45 wins (23 by knockout) and 2 draws. I watched most of his fights in the 90's.
Actor you didn't recognise, Danny Dyer, London hardman characters he plays usually. He did a show Who do you think you are, and his ancestors were Royalty back to I think Edward.

Just to put you in the picture, if you didn't know, out of 10 does Countdown is a comedic take on a serious, rather high brow show that's been running since 1984 on Chanel 4 (the very first show on the channel as a matter of fact) in the UK.
