Just release RHDTM once again in theatre,you could see the cult still persists.
When practicality doesn't matter & you dont care.....
It was a different era , people were differently romantic 🌱 , emotions were very crude, practicality was very less at that time....people were full of emotions and heart was still somewhat pure...

@@Alcatraz19940he people who made this movie a cult are millennials like me who were barely 8-10 years old that time. Life happened to us much later and that's when we realised the beauty of this movie. Today we have money as well, let the movie release...we are not that old. :)

The songs of this movie are amazing. They make you feel something though the south version of this movie is better starring Madhavan itself. The storyline is better in that one. Maddy’s character is so so much better and less aggressive. He also does more efforts for Reena in that one.

The love at first sight scene, the Maddy’s character, the simple girl character of dia, Saif’s character, the college rivalry, the friendship and off course the evergreen music by Jayraj . Everything makes this movie iconic even though the story was mediocre at best but the elements surrounding it was just wow. Hence it’s a cult classic. It’s a emotion ❤️

We were in school when it released. Hit or flop..we got totally hooked onto it. We used to do "maddy style" n try on girls you kow what I mean. This movie will forever be so so close to my heart. Now I am in middle age but still whenever rhtdm comes in mind..flashback..flashback..
Maddy RHTDM was actually never been flopped it simply digged out the wooden souls and it heal it infact it created a magic just a whimp their are some movies which narrate it such a way that generation after generations will remember it and recollect and cherish some romantic memories from them 💙

RHTDM was released in year 2001. That time there was lots of romantic movies. Plus it was competing with Lagaan, Gadar, Dil Chahta hai, Tum Bin etc. lots of other movies also failed like Ashoka, Indian, etc.

At that time single screen theaters were there.

I still remember when "RHTDM" was released around same time with "Dil Chahata Hai". There was one pirated channel and they always put the new released movies. When I watched RHTDM on that channel I was in love with the movie. Everyone was talking about Dil Chahata Hai but I really feel RHTDM is way better than Dil Chahata Hai and deserves more as well.

We saw it in a theatre & liked it so much. When we came out we saw a guy tearing his ticket & saying what a waste of money. At that time we were looking at each other & said may be this guy had a bad taste. But we didn't realise that he's a common man we always talk about. Cinema is. Made for such ppl who want paisa vasool entertainment & these guys makes Sme1 hero. 😊

I disagree with Maddy here about the album. The songs were a hit instantly, one of the best selling albums that year.

Being a 90s kid , I can for gaurantee say the film was not at all flop yes average maybe but by new comer standards it was a hit. And the songs were instant hits even before release, I remember we used to get irritated by the Nokia ringtones everyone had on their phone " sach keh Raha hai dewana" and "Zara Zara" that was every couples anthem in college..
