Hi everyone! Just getting back to filming since getting back from out of town (that vlog is coming tomorrow!) I ordered all these products so quickly when they came out, but to be clear (which I wasn't in the video), there is the Fall-Winter 2023 Collection that I first start using. And then the Byzance Quads are part of the Fall 2023, and that is not available online in the US yet. I purchased it through the Miami Chanel Boutique. Thank you!
I purchased 402 and 412 of the loose eyeshadows. I scrape, not too hard, but also not delicately, the applicator against the inner part of the shadow, both sides, and have zero fallout. I think that makes the difference. I still get GREAT color payout, so it is a win for me. I think I will purchase two more colors. 🥰
The loose shadows are great and so wonderful for mature eyes, no mess if you just put your shadow brush to the applicator or put the applicator to your eye and dab but then spread with your brush or your finger. I’m pretty sure you’ll love them once you play around with them.❤
Nope, not for me but I understand what your saying
Thank you!!
Hi Michele, I was told by my Chanel SA to place the powder eyeshadows on the back of my hand or a makeup palette and then pick up the pigment with an eyeshadow brush. He advised that is the only way to avoid fallout with these shadows. Hope that helps. The colors are very pretty but I don't quite get the packaging. I would much rather just use a eyeshadow quad or palette. Great video as usual😘
I have them as well and I’m enjoying them on my mature skin. I simply tap the top prior to removing and then use a brush or tap the nib on my eye lids and blend with my brush or finger. I don’t have fall out using this method and it doesn’t take me any additional time.
Hi Michele, thanks for reviewing all these. My worry with the loose shadows would also be that the applicator will pick up natural oils from the eyelid or product if applied beforehand as a base. These oils/product will then go back into the container of loose shadow each time which not only seems unhygienic but may also shorten the life of the product by compacting the loose particles. Maybe I’m overthinking it?! But that plus the fallout and fuss means I’m really not tempted by these. Much prefer the simplicity of the classic quads!
I saw someone else use them that way and it looked incredible ❤
Can’t wait to watch this, Michele!! Just like sitting down for a great chat with my most fun friend🥰😊
Thanks Teresa!
beautiful look Michele, wow, those eye shadows are amazing. can't wait to try them. ty
I’m waiting for the Byzance eyeshadows. I hope it will be available soon. I bought both blushes and glad I did. Thank you Michelle 🥰❤️
Cheri Voyage has a great tutorial on those loose pigment eye shadows.
Thanks. I’ll definitely look that video up
I love Erin Nicole! She struggled with the loose eyeshadow formula as well. That coral blush is gorgeous and right up my alley! Can’t wait for your vlog!🤗💕
She's the best!!
Stila used to make an eyeliner/eyeshadow duo product, and similar to the new Chanel it had a pointy sponge tip that dipped into loose powder shadow in the cap. The eyeliner and shadow coordinated, and it was marketed to use the powder to smoke out the eyeliner, not for regular eyeshadow application. That pointy sponge tip applicator worked well for that purpose!
The gorgeous terracotta hue that blush imparts is stunning!
Thank you!
You can use a mixing fluid to work with the loose pigments or use a setting spray on your eyeshadow brush to reduce the fallout.
Hi Michele! I bought the loose shadows too-- I think 402 and 404. I got a ton of fallout on the first use, but the next time I wiped them off like you did in the vid AND i tapped them off, like you would do with a regular brush dipped in a pan of eyeshadow. That pretty much took care of the fallout for me. I also saw another TH-camr put some of the pigment her hand and then use a brush. I do really like the formula and the 402 is so great for a one and done...
Love love love your make up videos!!!!❤️❤️❤️ even I already bought fall collection, I still was enjoying so much to watch your video!!! Thank You! About eyeshadow at first I was very disappointed, it’s so messy, but after I play with it couple days I actually very liked, I pick up product with brush from the applicator and it’s the best way to use it for me, color not unique but beautiful and and I can say it’s last on me for 12 hours without fading, as well as blush. The lipsticks colors are gorgeous, very warmer ton, truly autumn vibe, I like coco blooms in general.
Oh that's great... I'll try that next time!
The coral blush is everything. After seeing it on you, I went on a crusade to find it, and was able to get one. The moment I applied it, I was in love. Thank you for showing it to us!
That blush looks so good on you!!❤
I know a lot of people haven't liked these because of the fallout, but I loved them! I just tapped them gently on the eye and then used a brush to blend them out. Any fallout came off quick and easy with a clean brush. I thought they looked elegant.
I just ordered 2 of them, I figured they are perfect to thro in the bag or travel when I don't want to bring my eyeshadow palettes.
Thank you so much! I was so excited for your review🫶✨
Thank you!
Beautiful! Love the blush. ❤
Thank you! 😊
Omg, your skin looks so good, I know you said it was feeling dry but it looks so pretty.
I'm interested to see how the topper shades work for each of the quads. I saw someone else, who only had one of them, use the topper and it really transformed the colour of shadow beneath it.
Michele, I know the loose powders are messy but those colors are GORGEOUS!!! I'll purchase a couple and see how they work out. Also, the whole look you did with your makeup is BEAUTIFUL!!!❤️
Wonderful review! The blush looks great on you as well as the eyeshadows! I am very curious to try the light color 402 of the loose eyeshadows.
Thank you!
I got both…highly recommend both!!!
Wow! You have a very nice look, dear Michele!! I saw it in another vlog, the same problem with the new eyeshadows' applicators. It's not only you! 😉 The colors are so nice. I want to try the Byzance Quads eyeshadows, the colors are very beautiful too and I love the case with gold inside😍 Thanks for the rewiew!! Have a nice day!! 😊❤
Appreciate your honesty about the loose eyeshadow powder.
I’ve found tapping some of these shadows on the edge of the palettes or tubes . A beautiful look for fall🍁
Thanks!
Claire obscure is my all time fave too. I have Parura crystal, absolutely loooove it!
Open the eyeshadow flip it upside down use a brush to swipe of off the applicator onto the eyelids works amazing no mess at all!!!
I bought 4 of them and I really don t use the applicator to put the powder on, I use a little brush to put it on my lids and then blend out. I already love them
Hi Michele! Hope you are having a good weekend! I agree with you completely on the blush (looks beautiful) ❤ and the loose powders appear to be messy, but gorgeous shades. I likely won't purchase these after watching a few reviews now that all had the same results with the Eyeshadow. I'm still thinking about the Quads....the Ombre Clair Obscur honestly looks like one I'd use more often. Thank you!! 😊
The Clair Obscur is such a good staple to have!
Sounds like a winner!! 💞🙂
I love the loose eye powders.... I can handle them...without fall out... ❤
Bare Minerals did something like those loose eyeshadows years ago and I LOVED them. The applicator was a bit smaller and longer so it was easier to apply.
Thanks for sharing!!
Omggggg. Thank you so much @themichelewang. I have been waiting for your reviews! Love it ❤
Hope you like it!
I tap the applicator on the back of my hand and use a brush to apply. Then I have no mess. They are incredibly soft and easy to blend and perfect for mature eyelids.
Very beautiful eyeshadow 😊👍👍👍👍
Beautiful Michelle!
Thank you Yulia!!
Love the texture and finish of these loose powder eyeshadow! Bought 402. Yes there is fallout, need to dust them at the rim of the container before using, imho, the finish is worth the hassle
I skipped this whole collection except one of the Coco Flash in Warmth. The single powder eyeshadows didnt really excited me. But I always want to see your review. Might pick up one if the quads.
My suggestion: use a clean brush or ring finger (if you're on the go) to pick up pigment from the applicator, then dab excess off on a tissue or the back of your hand before applying and blending. That's how I would make good use of all the money spent. Hope this helps!
Hi I wonder if you dump some of the eye shadow on to tissue and use a brush if that would be better for fall out? Great video!
Probably! Going to try using brush off applicator next time!
Got 402 412, and the darker blush. My skin tone is close to yours, maybe a little bit darker- the blush works well on me. It’s not too heavy.
Try tapping the tip of the applicator once over the opening of the bottle, or take an eyeshadow brush to the tip applicator and there should be no fall out. The colours are beautiful and worth playing with.
I would dab the powder shadow onto my finger and apply that way. I love the colors. Ease of application not so much.
I love it
I didn’t purchase any of the powder eyeshadows in this release…thanks for the heads up! Byzance 328 is the only one I’d like. Wish they weren’t so hard to get!
Hi Michele! I think I am way too clumsy for those loose shadows.😂
I am going to tip one of those tubes over one day 🤣
Thank you Michele 😊👍👍👍👍
Hello! Have you bought the clé de peau eyeshadow yet?
Did you buy all the liquid shadow powders😮?
Hi Michele, can you tell me what number of your favorite Chanel Quad is which you showed in the last minute of the video please? I just got 328 and wondering how t o play it on yellow tone skin, and so happy I found your video. Thank you for the beautiful illustration!
A cosmetics company (Max Factor, Cover Girl, Clinique???) came out with the same eyeshadow packaging sometime in the '70's. I bought 1 or 2, don't remember which company it was, but it evidently wasn't a big hit. I don't recall it being around very long.
Oh amazing - thanks!
Does anyone know if the byzance quads will be available on the website?
The loose powder shadows looked tempting but after watching some reviews I am glad I did not get them. I do want to pick up one of the Byzance Quads though. :)
I would love to see a tutorial on natural vs synthetic brushes. I’ve got all the Rephr brushes, all BK, all Wayne Goss and a scattering of other brands. It’s a bit overwhelming.
The No1 Day looks glorious on you.
What did you think of the new Chanel Skin Enhancers? I haven’t heard you mention them. (They are beautiful!!)
I haven't tried them!
Is the eyeshadow quads available in U.S ? I haven't been able 2 find them,i have tried both of the blushes & i love the beige coral shade & can c myself getting alot of use out of it, however the roay beige shade,no matter how many ways ive tried 2 wear it, i cant make it work, ive had them 4 almost a week & im not sure y it looks so good in every1 doing reviews bc i cant make it look right on me, i wear a b30 in Chanel foundation,& other people with skin tone similar 2 mine have made it work but 4 some reason it really looks like a dark purple bruise on my cheeks lol & in the pan, even tho it says its a mauve color which i usually like mauves ,it looks dark purple im sorry i feel bad bc i love Chanel & i love the embossing also mauve shades have been a favorite of mine my whole life & i almost just got the maive & not the coral bc i thought i may not like that 1 but 4 me the coral is the real winner outa the 2 & the coral looks so natural,it reminds me of wen i used2 let my skin tan in the sun,the color my cheeks used2 get naturally from the sun & a lit from within glow, the coral is beautiful 2 me,its funny how im at 2 ends of the extreme with these blushes,i absolutely love 1 of them & wish it wasnt limited edition & the other i literally dnt think the best makeup artist in the world coud make it work on me,but im glad i love at least 1 of rhem so not a total fail bc i was looking 4ward 2 rhe bushes the most,i would say bc they're expensive if any1 can try the mauve shade in the store b4 they buy it would b a good idea bc im thinking Chanel made the Rosy beige shade 4 darker skin tones bc it woud look nice on a som1 with a really deep skintone & rhe beige coral can b worn by people with much lighter skin.
Hello Michele. I love 318 and 328. Hope I get them as for the powder shadows not for me. But I saw someone on YT. Using a makeup palette and putting some of the powder on it and then using a brush for the application. She even mixed two colors in the palette and it seemed to work. But like I said not for me. 🥰🥰
I cannot for the life of me get my Chanel blushes to show up. I’m tanned skinned but I got so frustrated with them that I put them away…I almost THREW them away. I have two. Can anyone recommend a brush to use?
Are you considering the Eyeshadow 5000 tag? I thought there were some interesting questions and I would love to see your luxury take on it.
We need more Michele reading in French. 😂.
🤣
So much interesting new eyeshadows are being released (YSL, CDP, etc.) but I only have eyes for the new Natasha Denona nude palette. I hope you review it! I love all that you do - including your Chanel reviews.
Hello greetings from Mexico, I like your videos, thanks
Glad you like them!
Maybe using a small mixing palette to deposit the loose shadow, then you know exactly how much you’re using on your brush with zero cross contamination. I really thought the shades were very pretty 😍 🤗🙏💜❤️
Your look is stunning! That eyeshadow is ridiculous 😂
Thank you!!
What if you use an eye brush to pick up the color from the sponge applicator, then tap off excess before applying with the brush…🤷♀️they look very silky and appear to apply beautifully!
Night star beauty recently did a podcast on the loose eyeshadows. She had zero fallout doing it her ‘nail polish’ way :)
If you have any suggestions on how to get Dior to bring back their Airflash foundation, I am on board and will gather the troops. I have met so many women/men that just cannot believe that it has been discontinued.
I believe you have to invert ita couple of times then apply... I could be wrong
The loose eyeshadows are to messy and hard to use plus they are like fifty shades of brown. I know you love brown but I’m almost sure you will not use them after this review because you have tones of brown eyeshadows much easier to use. For me they are an easy pass.
The quads are nice. I just bought Parure Cristal and I love it.
The blushes are beautiful and they will be available in Australia at the beginning of September. I think you will like the mauve one too. I like both and can’t wait to see them in store.
Thanks for sharing!:)
❤️ ❤️
The quads r pretty my lady, I’ll chk it out. ❤️😘😘😘Sandy
Why you don’t use Chanel brush ?
Morning michele ❤
Morning!
Since the applicators are so short, I would swipe a brush on the applicator.
Blush was lovely.
All the reviews I’ve seen regarding the powder eyeshadow has had fallout. The way around this that I have seen work is to put the eyeshadow on the back of the hand and then to use a brush to apply. This is a kind of why?
when are you reviewing the prada makeup?!!!
th-cam.com/users/shorts9cK2S6TCmqk?feature=share
Have you seen Cheri Voyage explain how not to get fallout from the powder eyeshadow. She has a technique from Chanel and didn't get fallout when using them during her video.
Watch how Cheri Voyage did it! She experienced 0 fallout and her video convinced me to buy the eyeshadow 🎉
Michelle that powder eyeshadow application looks like an awful lot of work. Love that blush though. Just looked online and the plum color sold out! I noticed there was a le tweeds for eyes? Are you reviewing those?
I've reviewed the tweed quads - if that's what you're referring to. th-cam.com/video/onw2PwJa0ak/w-d-xo.html ❤️
I just looked up the word Parure. It means a matching set of jewels or ornaments. How appropriate!
Oh yes - for sure!! Thank you for that!
To use the loose shadows you’d almost have to do your eye makeup first. The colors are gorgeous. It’s a strange concept for Chanel.
❤
I have to give Chanel beauty one more try, I usually get allergic reaction to their eyeshadows but maybe they changed.🤷🏻♀
💜💜💖
Are you ok? You seem like something’s not quite right. Don’t mean to pry. I just care. Devoted Wang watcher 😊
I love the colors and the concept. I have seen reviews. You have to be so careful taking the Nub out. There is tons of fall out if your not careful. I would tap bottle and wipe nub and use brush. I think they are too fussy , although pretty. Lexi Jong thinks the formula is rough But to each their own right ?. ❤❤❤❤. How can you get all the product out at end with a short applicator ? Weird
I wonder if the deeper shades are rough... I have to keep playing with them and see if I can find a good way to use them for myself. Thx Louise!!
The loose shadows are a MESS! I played with them at Chanel beauty. Cute idea In theory, but the fallout is intense. Might pick up the quads.
Erin Nicole experienced fallout as well. What a waste and hustle for an eye shadow…the short handle is way too annoying, you can’t see what’s going on..at least for me..not user friendly and expensive…thanks for showing me not wasting my money on Chanel Michele.
👍🏻 👍🏻 👍🏻
Another review showed tapping on edge of sink. She then was able to apply without fallout. Her other suggestion was put on back of hand and use a brush.
@@annedarby ya, but honestly I prefer going for a straight forward pressed eye shadow powder. Imagine trying getting all the things out of this Chanel bottle..hmm..messy probably.
The hassle of opening every bottle just to get one color out will tire me out . Palettes are the best , open once and get into an array of eyeshadows 😊
Yeah I skipped this collection because I saw Erin's review on IG. I only got one of the Coco Flash in Warmth.
Великолепно ❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I think they were trying something new, but I need easy ready to go products.
thank you for featuring this collection. The colors of the eye shadows are beautiful but the packaging seems a bit gimmicky. I can see me dropping that tiny top/applicator all over myself and getting quite aggravated. As much as I adore Chanel, the Fall/Winter collection just doesn't do it for me. It could be that it is 95 outside and I'm not in Fall/winter mode yet.
The pronunciation of the shades made my day 😂😌. The loose eyeshadow is a hard pass for me, but the rest looked nice. 🙂
New subscriber Hi - Makeup Story: Wore little to zero makeup most of my life. (Many women who grew up in my era eschewed makeup as "un-serious"). I was lucky: good skin hair etc. After 40: I relented and used tinted moisturizer (even out the skin tone and also in the US women tend to wear a lot of makeup so I looked too informal without - and lipstick. ➤ Then the pandemic came and I realized how washed out I looked on video and using Zoom etc. Matching tone - with the help of a great lady at a Chanel counter I pulled together a set: Foundation, blush, eyebrow pencil and a few nicer lipsticks. (I wear glasses and lack the skills for eyeshadow / eyeliner etc and mascara and I do not get along....so I left my eyes alone...I looked better immediately on those videos and Zoom calls.....then a few TH-cam videos and another lady at a Chanel counter later I discovered how much more I could do when I added some color around the eyes...(still no skills). We are of a similar age.....I love the way you teach: yes I take notes. One question: why curl lashes? Mine are short...How does curling lashes help? (YT searches have not really answered this....). Delighted to have found your channel - inspiring.....thank you G
This vlog has an echo with the sound. Unusual for your videos. Great video in all.
Tania B. Wells had the same fallout issue, and she'd a working MUA, so it's not just you.
Whew - ok good to know!
The loose shadow is disappointing. At $40, they need to make it an easy yes.
Every video that I have watched everyone complains about the eyeshadow component/application. For that price it shouldn't be that cumbersome.
