First time seen ZZ top when I was 15 on Pinkpop 1982 in Holland, I was a big fan since.
You blew all artists away, Mink De Ville, Saga, Y&T, The Au Pairs, Kid Creole & The Coconuts,
Best performer ever seen, God bless you.

@@Pinkpalmpuff332 the true fans all know- dusty is the MOST irreplacable bass player ever. the first time i saw them, in '74, he made me want to sell my bass and move on! (which i did, a year later!) 4 fingers, so fast and tight. any faster- it would have been just a blur!

Yeah, it could take a while for Dusty's 'unexpected' death to kick in...sad beyond words. Meanwhile, Billy Gibbons decided we - Dusty's real FANS/family - didn't need any time for all that grieving shit - back on stage within 48 hrs! But it looks and sounds like a whole different band.
Gibbons is gonna have to rename it: The Billy Gibbons Band...cuz that's all it is now

I live in a very small French town far from the big cities, when I was a teenager these guys from Texas made me dream with their first musical era as well as the Eliminator adventure... Impossible for me at that time to see them in concert, it was not even thinkable. It was just on TV, with the records, and some magazines. And then in 2016, a big concert producer who lives in my city, to please himself, decided to set up a big festival in a castle in the middle of the fields..... and for the first edition: ZZ TOP, SCORPIONS, JETHRO TULL, TEN YEARS AFTER... !!!! I thought when I saw the ads, I thought it was a joke! But no, they all came, it was insane, I never thought I would see these bands here! It was a bit like our local Woodstock, the revenge of the small towns where culturally nothing ever happens! Since then, BOC, NAZARETH, RIVAL SONS.... and maybe next year ALICE COOPER have also come. Even if I lived in Paris and was a record dealer, it was a great honor for us to see these artists come and play in our lost corner! My only ZZ TOP Show.
The concert was RETRO C TROP Tilloloy (a village!) in 2016! What a memory! R.I.P

I saw an interesting documentary chronicling the three iconic videos "Gimme All Your Lovin", "Sharp Dressed Man" and "Legs". They made more money out of the "Zee Zee" key chains than the records, and the whole idea was nothing to do with the band - but they were sure smart enough to run with it!!! The rotating guitars is pure genius!

I think of the hours of my life I’ve heard Dusty playing music and the joy that ZZ Top’s music has brought me. The “younger generation” needs to understand what just happened with his passing. It is a profound loss not only to the band, but the rock world in general. I had the joy of seeing them live 5 times, owned countless albums, listened endless hours. Only 1 band did it like Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill, and Frank Beard. RIP Dusty, all respect, ZZ TOP forever.

Dusty was the humor and beer-buddy laughter in ZZ Top. A true cavalier. RIP

I’m getting old 😲 I remember when this amazing trio was mostly local, like George Strait, Austin City Limits, we were young and life was endless! Goodbye old friend, keep playing them tunes

My very first favorite band as a kid. I saw ZZ Top at a old wooden bar in Florala Alabama called the beach club on a old dirt road in 1979. The ticket was $5. I will NEVER forget. RIP Dusty. We will always miss and love you. Your music will live on forever. My condolences to Frank and Billy. They have to be completely lost now. I know I am.....

Caught up with these guys in 1972. Fuck, fifty Years?! Never thought I'd out live these guys! You were a genius Dusty, with your mix of lead and bass with BFG! I'll miss you Tuesday when I go to the concert. R.I.P. Dusty. Have a shot of the Devils bourbon for me and save me a stool! After all, it was you and a Jack Bruce that taught me bass guitar.
