  • Learn how to make a beautiful boho DIY macrame plant hanger (without a tassel) in this easy, step by step tutorial for beginners!
    One of my favorite macrame projects to make is a plant holder. First of all, plants. Second, it's an easy and quick project to add lots of boho charm to your decor!
    This hanging planter is made with beads to add a little natural touch to the design, and it has a wooden ring at the top as well to finish it off. No tassels necessary! But it does have a little optional fringe at the top.

    Great video. I am near retirement and macramed so many hangers, wall decor in my younger years. You did a splendid job showing the knots and necessary information. Thanks for sharing!

    This is exactly what I was looking for. I have a 30” creeping inch plant that I will need to weave up from the bottom, and this will allow me to accomplish that without having to cut any tendrils. 😊

    Thanks for the really neat pattern. I enjoyed making it and I know I will enjoy using it. I made it in a curry yellow color and will be using it for my bowl that I keep my potatoes, onions, and garlic etc.

    Love this idea, always wondered how to finish these off with the cords at the top. I learned the hard way that over time the wooden rings don't hold up to the weight when using real plants, so I always go with metal rings unless using artificial plants and never outside. Thank you for sharing this, my mom is a plant fanatic and loves hanging plants, just not a big fan of tassels. Now I can make these for her. You can even add small beads at the top if you want to on the top strings. Again thank you.💖💖💖💖💖

      Yes some wooden rings don't last at all- I've had some break and it's the worst! These ones I'm using I've had good luck with so far, but they're WAY stronger than the other ones I had that broke. Metal rings are always a good option though, and you know they shouldn't break on you! And yes, beads at the top would look really nice- that's a great idea! Thanks for stopping by 😊😊

      Was it just style that made you end it in square knots? I like it a lot, but you could still do the usual gathering knot no?

    I’m so glad you posted this one. I’m not a fan of the tassels so this pattern is great for my personal tastes.
    Thank you❣️

    Thank you! I’ve really been wanting to try macrame; but I haven’t been able to find a tutorial that doesn’t have a tassel at the bottom. I have 4 cats, and anything with a tassel dangling won’t last very long. 🥲

    This tutorial was great! You have a kind, patient way of explaining things. If I want' to make a slightly smaller hanger, just make the knots shorter? Thank you--want to create a hanging garden of catnip on a catio.

    Oh well, first time tryer. I had 3mm paracord. did two armlengths and I have only done the first 2 rows of bigger knots and have run out of cord. I guess i have to find proper macrame cord. I used 3mm paracord and clearly this is no good :(

    What kind of cord is used in this? I know you linked one but it seems to be more stiff than the one in the link you provided. It almost looks a little shiny as well and not soft.
    Thanks!

    How much weight will this plant hanger hold? Will it hold a large Aloe pot?

    Hi Crystal! Awesome video, I originally found it in a google search. I have a question. Is it possible to undo the bottom of an existing macrame planter that has fringe and 1) enlarge the basket and 2) add a ring like this? If I could only do one I’d like to add a ring at the bottom. The hangers are already finished, I use them outside. I need to size up my fern pots and would like to use these same ones. Thanks for any help you can give me!

    does the size of the pot matter? I have a 6x5x5.5 pot

      As long as it’s relatively close it’ll work, you can also space the knots out a little differently if you need to. I recommend doing a test fit before moving on to the next section.😊

    Is it possible to do the same thing but without using the wooden ball? I don't have any and would like to try without 😅

    • @ColFlustered
      @ColFlustered 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In case you haven't already tried, you can make it without the wooden ball. It's purely decorational and can be removed. 😊

      Hi, I worked it out to be 340cm per cord, too, but that is much longer than 2 arm lengths like she said in the video?

    • @DollfaceAnn517
      @DollfaceAnn517 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@shaylinsteyn3178 Yeah! I'm literally sitting here with a measuring tape and it comes out to 67 centimeters not 67 inches per single arm length. So it's actually about 67 inches for two arm spans which is about half of 340 cm (170 cm). So glad I didn't waste material!
