    Readings: Numbers 11: 25-29; Psalm 19: 8, 10, 12-13, 14; James 5: 1-6; #Mark 9: 38-43, 45, 47-48.
The readings for the #26th_Sunday_in_Ordinary_Time Year B, invite us to reflect on the spirit of inclusivity and justice in God's mission.
In the First Reading, from the book of Numbers, we witness the outpouring of the Spirit upon the seventy elders. Yet, when Eldad and Medad prophesy in the camp, Joshua expresses concern about their unauthorized actions. However, Moses, in his profound wisdom, embraces a spirit of inclusivity and unity, recognizing that God's grace is not limited by human boundaries.
The psalmist praises God's law as perfect, trustworthy, and pure, offering wisdom, joy, and enlightenment. It reminds us that God's word, which includes his will for how we are to live, guides our hearts and actions. The psalmist prays for protection from sin, especially from hidden faults, and that one's words and thoughts are pleasing to God.
This psalm echoes the readings, reminding us that aligning our lives with God's law allows us to live in harmony with God's will, no matter where or how He chooses to work.
