This video really took me back. Thats exactly how I remember the pulls back than. I was about 10 years old, running around the pits. I can still smell the vinegar and ketchup on the fries. Thank you for this upload!
I have old super8 reels of tractor pulls back when my dad pulled in the Nationals in the 70s. Even have the reel of a 560 flipping over at Louisville before dolly bars were required. Danny Dean, Kimber Wilson, Bobb Brothers, Norm Koch "Cook" and Al greens SS AC D21 with their infamous Quad turbo setup. We ran all over the country with our #7000 SS 4010.
thanks Bill, I am in Italy , now i see in your videos lot of commons tips that You used 30 years ago i have do the same in my fiat tractor whitout money and only using brain ,scrap parts and learn from mistakes with melted pistons ....now pulling scene is only have a wide wallet and competition to who get away much money...I would be honored to see your work in person and exchange opinions
Just came across your channel. So great to see hear the stories. Have you ever pulled in Canada.. our big track was twin creeks Ontario. My neighbor Jack Grant with the Screamen demon pull a fair bit in the US back in the day. A good friend of mine makes the aluminum pulling rims he ships to US. Thanks for sharing the great stories and spreading the word. From one farmer to the next be safe.
Hey Mike! Welcome to the channel! No, never pulled in Canada, farthest l made it in that direction was Ohio. But l certainly remember Jack Grant, never pulled with him but saw him in "the Puller" plenty. Great to hear from you, stay in touch!
Yes another great video. Love the pulls from the past, rather watch them than today's pulls. Love to see the Deere tractors with the yellow rims than the polished aluminium rims.
Oh wow. I remember when we went to Laurel Delaware to a tractor pull meeting and a mosquito bit on my arm and I smashed it and all this red booed came out. I told one of the Tayman boys that he didn't bite me and he said how do you know that. I told him I only bleed green.
I can't believe that I never knew they had pulls there in Laurel. I'm sure I'd have been there watching; I never used to miss Tuckahoe. I have a short video of "One to Go" pulling there in the 90s that I need to upload.
No roll cages no safety equipment except maybe a helmet at all. It is amazing more people weren't seriously hurt or killed. Back in the days of hang on and hope for the best. I don't think the tractors were quite as powerful back then like the ones competing now but still so dangerous.
Love the old pulls, thanks for sharing

l'll find some more.

That was great
What happened to the tractor of Robert Turner you helped work on
lt's in pieces here, waiting to be updated and reassembled. A local guy bought it.
I grew up at that track, now I’m going way back to when Coleman drove a modified M.H. . I think it was the early 70s, Chitty Chitty Bang Band
I met you a couple of times there and once or twice at Bridgeville De. You were running I think a 730
👍👍
