My dad was a HUGE George Strait fan (he thought he could sing like him, lol) We played this as the final song at his funeral & this is really the first time (it's been almost 2 years since my dad died unexpectedly) that I could listen to this song without crying my eyes out :)
So wholesome, I’m just now noticing that he actually broke a string in his guitar, no running it back, no replacing it. Just decided that what he had at the moment would do, great men do that.
Easton Corbin has some songs that are good too. His voice is very similar to George's (Obviously George is still better, but I find Easton's old music to be decent.) :)
FlyWingZ how is Easton Corbin's voice at all like George straits? It's not nobody's ever will be. He shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as George
this was his sign-off song each time he ended his concerts . Yes I Know this because I am a true fan of the COWBOY . I had the pleasure of seeing him 3 times in my life time . Thank you Thank you Thank you Mr. Strait .
And that People is why he is the King Of Country Music Hits after hits. Look how that awesome man treats his fans .. That's a good man right there pure soul ..
My son was a George Strait fan. This one is a favorite of his. 2yrs. Today my son made his journey. Son you are always in my heart. I miss you dearly. I know you and dad are together. R.I.P. Sonl❤❤❤
Come August and after serving my country and Army in and out of Uniform for 40 years, this Cowboy rides away and goes home to where my life began, TEXAS !! :)
This was the last song he sang in concert in Austin Texas, and I fucking was IN AWE!!!! We love you George!! You're sorely missed!! However you did leave a LASTING impression in country, and guys like Eric Church, Milton Patton, and many others are carrying your legend. HOWEVER nothing is better than the original!!
This is such a beautiful song & sorta sad as it was George's last big concert. He will always be my favorite country singer. I love you George! Thanks for sharing it Winston.
No. His last big touring concert was Dallas, TX. I have the collectors dvd. This Adome concert was better in my opinion. In Dallas he promoted too many other singers on stage which detracted from his performance. Sorry Vince Gill you should never have taken the stage. Several other were a big disappointment as well. The farewell to Astrodome was pure perfection.
My favorite Entertainer and singer.... amazing... many points in my life... hung by a thread by his songs... and actually made many of those moments possible... thanks... George....!!!!
I just watched the CBS Special, I have always loved George Strait. He's so down to earth and seems so personable. I think Brooks N Dunn had the most memorable tribute. Amazing.
Just love you always King George, can't stop listening to your very amazing beautiful talented voice, and the amazing beautiful talented band, wonderful,
I love how at 0:50, there's a shot of the male background singer (Wes Hightower) taking off his ear monitors and wrapping them up at the base of his microphone stand. It's almost as if he's saying "Well, that's it for me. It's Miller time."
So sad let him go. He left the stages but will perform always in our minds and hearts. The end and the beggining of new era. Thankx GEORGE STAIGT for beeing the way you are, enjoy your life, as we enjoy your music. Don't wanted to, but i did it, yes tears hard to see it, but it is the time. Although it happen while ago, whatching this video looks like it happen yesterday.
Saw this artist in Evansville Indiana when he was brand new I cud see the Wrangler logo on his backside women were passing out I was mesmerized I lost my heart that night!!!! Its in the back pocket right below the Wrangler logo!!! God Bless you n urs !!! Thank you for lighting up country music!!!!
I would give anything if he would come back to Evansville Indiana. Or anywhere in Indiana for that matter. I have never seen him in concert. It would seriously make my life complete!
All my life I've been a hugh fan I would have love to have been to his concert but with my health being sick all the time. The only way I see him sing is on TH-cam or his 💿...
I never thought that I would be such a huge GS fan. I saw him a few times at the MGM Grand in Vegas one with Josh Turner and the other with Reba. AMAZING! AMAZING! His songs are always playing in the car every road trip to the river, Vegas etc. and I can watch Pure Country over and over. I am not a star struck person (I've lived in CA all my life) but put me in a room or near him ... hahaha. And It doesn't hurt that he is such a handsome guy!
@George Strait no.. kind of number 1 on my want to see but haven't. I had tickets for your Vegas show couple of years ago but got ill last minute, and wasn't able to make the trip. Still hoping I'll make it happen... hear Foolhearted Memory and The Cowboy Rides Away in person
I grew up listening to his music and LOVED every song he ever made. I wish I could have seen him in concert. The only country star I've ever seen and met was Joe Diffie. He put a concert on at our local high school and I went with my mom. She made me go up and shake his hand. One of my best childhood memories ever with her.
You haven't been to a Country Concert until you have been to George Strait concert . If you don't leave out of that building feeling good, find your way to the nearest hospital . Lol . I have seen him 3 times . I represented well if I have to say so myself . Had my Jeans, Boots and my Stetson on. What I say. Lol
Celebrities somentimes worth much more when they die, than when they were alive. We know he isn't dead yet, but persons like him deserve the way we love him. As much as he love us. Don't forget he's not a celebrity or an artist, he's a true legend, a phenomenon still alive.
No big stage...no fancy lighting..no dancing...just the best damn artist country has ever seen. Crazy how its still just as entertaining
He is the King!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My dad was a HUGE George Strait fan (he thought he could sing like him, lol) We played this as the final song at his funeral & this is really the first time (it's been almost 2 years since my dad died unexpectedly) that I could listen to this song without crying my eyes out :)
I know how you feel, It was the last song played at my dads funeral this week...George is the real deal
I love this song...Thank You
This is what a country artist is. No running all over the stage. Just sings a great song.
So wholesome, I’m just now noticing that he actually broke a string in his guitar, no running it back, no replacing it. Just decided that what he had at the moment would do, great men do that.
So called country artists of today need to take note, This is country.
agreed. id rather listen to George and Alan Jackson than any other new "country" artist
Easton Corbin has some songs that are good too. His voice is very similar to George's (Obviously George is still better, but I find Easton's old music to be decent.) :)
so right
FlyWingZ how is Easton Corbin's voice at all like George straits? It's not nobody's ever will be. He shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as George
+Austin Dalton what you say.
this was his sign-off song each time he ended his concerts . Yes I Know this because I am a true fan of the COWBOY . I had the pleasure of seeing him 3 times in my life time . Thank you Thank you Thank you Mr. Strait .
I agree that and I have seen George Strait and it was in St.Louis Mo on 2/17/2012
George Strait is one of the Best. He won't be retiring any time soon. His fans won't allow it!!!
And that People is why he is the King Of Country Music Hits after hits. Look how that awesome man treats his fans .. That's a good man right there pure soul ..
Allen Jackson
My son was a George Strait fan. This one is a favorite of his. 2yrs. Today my son made his journey. Son you are always in my heart. I miss you dearly. I know you and dad are together. R.I.P. Sonl❤❤❤

r.i.p George
This is real Country and I got see George Strait live in St Louis
a historical event right here
hey my friend
35 people probably never heard of the best country singer to ever live
That would be Hank Williams, George could be second greatest.
More like 35000 people if you know what I mean
One regret is I am too young to have seen King George, Alabama, or Hank Jr live... I am greatful I got to see Garth live.
@@colkidglen8802 hank williams did not get much of a chance to be greatest he died 4 years into his career and george is better no matter what
Hell yes

Yeah you're right about that.
@George Strait no I've never had the privilege or honor yet sir.
@George Strait maybe try having more subscribers and looking more legit before trying to answer as the man ..
Man with class and integrity
His retiring breaks my heart....but he has given so much for so long....he is LOVED
Deb Enright I hope that he's only retiring from touring. I hope he still does the occasional TV or concert performance.
Pelo palco com aquele sorriso lindo que só ele tem
An act of class, the true king of country
real music in general, everyone can learn something from that man
You can see in his eyes he’s sad that will be his last time performing inside of the Astrodome
Great video! Thank You for sharing.

King George. Accept no substitutes.
Why are you talking like he's dead? He's 64 today, May 18,2016. Still a young man.
And still not dead he probably chilling at his home in texas
Celebrities somentimes worth much more when they die, than when they were alive. We know he isn't dead yet, but persons like him deserve the way we love him. As much as he love us. Don't forget he's not a celebrity or an artist, he's a true legend, a phenomenon still alive.
