I don't care what anyone says woman and men are not physically made the same whether you want to accept it or not if that was the case you would see a lot more woman wanting to be in more physical roles in general. Yes, there are woman who can bet out men physically but those a far and few and by all means if you are woman who can then go right ahead and there is nothing wrong with it, but understand that you are the minority of woman.

Exactly. I was in the Army from 94 to 98 and was all for women in the military. However, I attended a combat lifesaver course in my last few years and it was clear that none of the females in our training group would be able to carry me or any of the other men, if injured, under virtually any circumstances. I know that we live in an era of equality now, and that’s a GOOD thing, but there are some things that are just not equal and never will be.
That said, I have a ton of respect for women in the military, and even more so for women willing to join combat arms, but man, I just don’t know if it makes sense.

I served in the Infantry Bco. 2/7 3rd BCT and Aco. 2nd Bn 124th FLNG. I also worked as a security contractor, none of the women we had lasted long on the teams. It did not mean they were less brave, in fact, I'd say they had even more heart for attempting to be there. But...We would do casevac drills with dudes upwards of 6'2 220 lbs on the team, the struggle to drag a big guy in full kit out of a down vehicle to cover was hard for some men...impossible for most of the women or probable if they had help which is not guaranteed in battle. Afghanistan is a poor test for this metric, The war is all but over and there is no uniformed, well-organized opposing force...IN MASS. God forbid we ever face a well-trained, well-equipped uniform military on the field again, many battles will be lost because of the unisex disadvantage.

But, is infantry loadout is always that heavy?
Maybe because doctrine and standart, but when i see many media and documentaries of ww1 to vietnam show lighter load for many infantryman.
Apart from body armour which i think will give heavy loads which differentiate from older war, is there many 'strapable" Weight there as in its good to have but not abolutely vital?
Also, is there part of infantry that pack light? I think women or not so fit men can be conscripted or drafted then given minimal loadout as to compensate their ability and stamina, in emergency ofc.

I wish them well, as soon as the new gender neutral fitness test is implemented (currently women's standards are far below men's fitness, men 17-21 must do 35 pushups, women in the same group must only do 13, you can see the major discrepancy and how it would effect combat effectiveness) they will no longer be infantry, that's a guarantee.

I am a Marine automatic rifleman. I've been afraid for my life numerous times, but the only thing that kept me sane in those fateful moments was the fact that I had a man next to me who I knew for a fact was capable of carrying my 220 pound body for 3 miles if I got my legs were blown off. I'm not saying this to be mean, but I would be a nervous wreck if I had a female Marine/soldier next to me in combat. I don't care if she was a pro UFC fighter. Female hormones and bone structure are not cut out for the job long term. Not even female Olympic athletes can sustain being in the infantry without getting injured after the first few months.
Please, for the sake of my brothers in arms, choose an MOS that your body will be able to handle. There is still plenty of honor in such a role. Everyone says, "Follow your dreams and ignore the haters." Yeah, that's true, but the infantry is life and death. It is not a social experiment.

C'mon....do you know when the clamor to get women into the infantry units began? It began after the 1st Iraq War. Why you might ask? Because we decimated the Iraqi military in a "conventional" war which resulted in about 80 American soldiers KIA instead of the expected tens of 1000s of US KIAs.
Essentially war became safe enough to allow females into combat units. And so here we are. China is on the horizon. They are a conventional super power. They have conventional technology.
