He looks amazing, but starting with the toy color means I'll have to wait for the toon version. MS could honestly do some great work in the MP area. I'd love them to do toon accurate Dinobots since no one has really done those. Good to seem them doing more MP and I hope they continue it.
God I need this to open the door for more Legends scale figure upscales. Need Magic Square to upscale stuff like their Dinobits so we can finally have G1 Accurate MP Dinobots. And maybe get them to push Newage to finally start upscale some of their stuff like their Arcee. Probably won't happen but would love to see something like the Newage Omega Supreme upscaled as well
Like the multiple releases Magic square is just the best transformers company imo. I might not like the multiple releases but you can't deny the quality. Great video and great figureb🎉
Don't forget their pricing makes sense. They don't bloat the price like XTB or Fanstoys, but still deliver good quality figures! MS could dominate the MP market if they wanted to upscale their legends figures.
I'm really glad to see you uploading again, love the content! It's crisp, clean, and professional beyond comparison to be honest. Hope you're doing well and keep it up Legend!
Thanks! Ever since I started my own business, I had less time creating youtube videos, but when it comes to Magic Square Toys, I don't want to miss, tried my best for the production, and really appreciate that you liked it!
And now I have to say this! Knowing how good Brawl looks in this I'm now trying to imagine how Swindle, Vortex, Onslaught and Blast Off are gonna look!
Magic Square makes some of the best looking Legends Scale figures that's only hindered by the gummy nylon plastic and lack of paint. This figure looks like they actually listened to their fans and gave them / me what we wanted in a Masterpiece scaled figure. I'm jumping on board and can't wait for this figure to arrive. Hopefully within the next 7 - 10 days.
Really excellent review! Thanks for highlighting so many good aspects of the figure. I wasn't too excited about it at first (I don't need another Bruticus), but I'm really excited now!
So will this be the "toy version" release of him and a "toon version" of him will come out soon, or will this be the only release of him, and the toon parts come separately later? If Magic square can be transparent about this, theyll get my money right away.
Mind blowing figure. It’s a much welcome addition for MP combiners. I’ll buy the whole set and MS will be my combiner goto if they can maintain this standard throughout all future MP combiner bots and individual MP bots as well. When I finish with MMC Defensor I am done with MMC for many reasons so this is perfect. One thing I really wish for is if MS can make an LED eyes for either Onslaught or Bruticus either would be a dream come true. Good video!
Can't wait to see reviews of the rest of the set from you! This is truly the future of masterpiece transformers! You mentioned that the foot is grey, its interesting that they've gone with the color. I really hope MS only makes one version for this combiner, so we don't have to spend a car's worth of money on reissues of the same combiner.
Thought it was weird that they chose this character to do this after Optimus, but think they chose this cause not really much competition for a Bruticus Combiner in the Masterpiece space as well as if they hit it out of the park with this release not only does it show they can do good G1 Masterpiece representation, including for lesser known or appreciates characters, but it'll generate hype for yet another company that can do Combiners well
Looks amazing. Will wait for a box set when they inevitably release it with cartoon accurate foot colors (should match the tank's green, not be grey like the toy). Of course that's only if it's good enough to replace my Zeta in combined mode. This bot mode is WAAAAYYY better than Zeta individual bots but their combiner looks so good.
@@OptimusLegends indeed; got him from a UK store (not sure if that makes any difference). First MS figure i get and I am really impressed. Feels like a more refined version of MMC. If MS keeps this up I can see them taking over the Masterpiece scene.
@@TheDarkSparkVault My joke is that he pretty much was "hit with a ray that grows people" with a few changes and upgrades, since he is an upscale of the core scale version.
My only question is when will we finally get a new legends mold? Seems like legends are being put on the back burner but there’s still lots of characters to go!
man thx to this channel for introducing me to magic square. first figure was the legend scale bruticus. now hearing theyre making a mp scale with more improvement... wallet going for another fasting. by the way, hows the leg combined mode? is it similar to legend?
Hoping for a 2001 RiD Ruination repaint down the line. I hope MS tackles the MP Dinobots soon. They need to improve the neck and tail articulation on the Dino modes.
@@OptimusLegends Oh. My. God. YES!!!! Please also tell Magic Square we need a good MP Megatron! All of them either have problems with accuracy, or a pain in the ass.
@@OptimusLegends I just want to double check, do you mean MP dinobots right after these or Snarl and Swoop to finish the set they started at Legends scale?
I hope MS mostly sticks to Legends scale tbh. Their Masterpiece figures like this guy or the Optimus ones are good from what I've seen, but their niche has always sorta been Legends. Also, just a very weird choice of figure to make Masterpiece scale lol. I like the original Brawl a ton, one of my fav MS figures, but... he's not exactly a super popular character, is he? Something like their Ironhide feels like it would make more sense for an upscale, but I guess I haven't done the market research to know for sure.
Definitely getting this set.. They will be my first MS line in my collection... Now i gotta deal with zeta bruticus, what to do with him.. i was thinking alt mode for zeta but they not toon accurate so it might look weird..idk but I'm getting all these, might double up for alt mode as well if i sell my zeta bruticus... Any one know the prices on these?
Ok due to Legend scale Onslaught being as tall as Brawl's tank barrel and him also having barrels, I'm guessing that Onslaught's gonna be...uhm....as tall as Jetfire? I'm not quite sure. I've never seen their Legends scale selves' side by side together.
MMC is probably about a head taller, based on that comparison with Thundercracker. Also MMC is a different design philosophy altogether being all-in-one vs partsforming. Not that I’m a partsforming hater, it’s just worth pointing out.
I have finally bought this figure to myself. As awesome as it looked, I was hesitant to order it initially because I want a cartoon coloured combiner foot, and I didn't know if Magic Square was going to release a separate version of the figure with such a part or not. However, now that MS has announced a separate accessory pack with cartoon accurate combiner parts, my worry about wasting money on the wrong version went away. Having a chance to personally feel it at last, I have to admit that it is a figure of good quality. The plastic in most parts feels really sturdy, and when transformed to the alternative mode, all the parts stay sturdily in their supposed places. It feels like a Fans Toys figure without any die-cast parts. The articulation is great, as was pointed out in the video, and I especially like the hands. The hand can be bent upwards and the fingers are on ball joints, so they have some limited splay. This means that Heavy Gunner can do a stop sign of a traffic police and even the Vulcan salutation. That's quite rare even for a Masterpiece scaled figure. I have a couple of nitpicks, though. Firstly, I don't like ratchet joints being used for sideways movement of the legs, as it limits their posing somewhat. Yet that is what MS has done for this figure, although fortunately, there is some movement play in the joints' positions, so the limitations of posing the legs are not quite severe. Secondly, contrary what was said in the video, there _are_ spruce marks, namely in the nylon wheels. When the hands are closed inside the caterpillar tracks in the tank mode, the wheels' spruce marks take contact with them, which hinders their rolling movement. Also, since the figure is supposed to represent Brawl's cartoon version, the face mask should be coloured dark purple instead of crimson. By the way, the transformation was indeed quite challenging, frustrating even, in the first time, but the second time was already quite easier. So it's not that bad at all, actually. Overall, this is a great representation of cartoon Brawl, and I am definitely going to acquire the rest of MS's Combaticons as well.
He looks amazing, but starting with the toy color means I'll have to wait for the toon version. MS could honestly do some great work in the MP area. I'd love them to do toon accurate Dinobots since no one has really done those. Good to seem them doing more MP and I hope they continue it.
