Christopher Seider, 11 years old was one of the first casualties of the Revolution in Boston. It happened weeks before the Boston Massacre when a crowd of angry residents mobbed a Royal Tax Collectors house and he shot into the crowd killing the boy. It helped ignite the Revolution and he was later buried with casualties of The Boston Massacre. He was listed as being "German" but the last name of 'Seider' is likely German Jewish meaning "Silk Merchant/Upholsterer" (near exclusively a Jewish trade in Europe for 100's of years) who specialized in "side beds" or couches. His first name was Christian but many underground 'Crypto-Jews' took/gave Christian names for their children after having to convert in European countries. Many then came to the Colonies to live a more open life.

This is an interesting and informative presentation. Thank you for posting it. For the past year I have been researching in great depth many aspects of the American Revolution period, focusing on the years from 1760 to 1790.
I am sure many Jews living in the Thirteen Colonies in 1769 adhered to the counsel of "Seek the welfare of the nation you are in" - Jeremiah 29:7. Thus, it was natural for them to align with a pro-independence patriotic/nationalist cause fighting against a foreign based oppressive power. They also wanted to be on the "Right Side of History" for pragmatic reasons, e.g. The Title of the land/properties of the colonies would switch from the Crown to the new nation. (I believe this "opportunistic" aspect of the motivations of the American revolutionaries is overlooked by many scholars and historians.)
I also maintain that the best description of the religious/spiritual belief system of the Founders like Madison, Washington, Franklin, Adams, Paine et al. is "Monotheism". The Christian or Deist labels are inadequate.
BTW, I'm sure Adam Jortner has an opinion about the current Israel-Gaza Conflict. Any parallel between the confusion and turmoil of the Shay's Rebellion period and the subsequent clarity/problem solving nature of the Constutional Convention and the current geometries in Israel-Palestine? He must also be aware of the "maxim: All behaviour is a result of mindset and setting".
What is the best setting, design, management structure/template for the Holy Land?
A Holy Land Commonwealth with it's own Constitution.
    Moderate, Pluralistic, Traditional, Monotheistic.
    Six Zones/Provinces:
The Temple Mount/Haram al Sharif "Crown land reserved for a special crown" 👑
    Jerusalem
    Israel
    The West Bank/Judea and Samaria
    The Golan
    Gaza
More details to be revealed in time. 🤔 Stay Tuned...

America is because of the language of The Declaration of Independence, a people of the covenant since God is invoked and invited to protect her in covenant and we use famously God loved ideas to entice the Lord to accept that covenant.
This would famously lead us to repair that covenant during the Civil war and God punished us justly for the greivous national sin of slavery.
I believe that our Jewish fellow citizens are an integral part of our relationship with The Creator and that our treatment of them will reflect God's mood for all of us as a whole.
Its not for nothing that more of the world's Jews live here than in any other country...even Israel must accept second place in lands where Jews are counted.

What a coincidence this popping up with Israel's controversial actions in Gaza.
