I have a trailblazer ss and will be installing one of this...still have no idea how im going to get it done but i know ill get it done and is going to look sick! Glad i saw your video. Already picked up a few ideas..🙌🙏 thanx for the content
Since you eliminated the original duct air intake how is the engine going to get air when the shaker solenoid is closed? Normal operation of that solenoid was during a WOT situation.
The door on the shaker is held shut by a very light spring. It swings open gradually by itself as the engine demands more air, then is forced wide open with the solenoid at WOT.
So where does it get air from when the flap is closed? Also, have you checked the clearance between the air cleaner lid and the inside of the shaker? It can be very, very tight with a 3" tall air filter like the one you have in the video. A 2.5" tall filter will give you enough clearance for air flow. I think the way you have it set up is going to choke your motor.
@@johnh6532 the air flap is held shut by a very light spring. It opens up gradually under load as the engine demands, until the solenoid forces it completely open. The filter only comes to the top of the air cleaner housing. The shaker sits about 4 inches above that so there is plenty of room for air flow.
It's nice when rust cooperates 🤣rare though. Looks good!
For once in my life, rust did me a favor. 🤣

I'm really liking what you are doing to my new car. I can't wait for it to be finished and delivered.

Where can I buy the after market seal for the shaker that gets pinched on the sides?
