For those wondering, I do not have my car Loki with me at the moment :( I’m only temporary staying in this apartment until YC ends. Don’t worry he’s doing well just staying with family. We’ll see him soon. I miss him too
Marcos you're a huge inspiration dude!! Couple questions about your startup out of curiosity: 1. How do you plan on differentiating from Cursor or competing with them if not? They just raised $60M from a16z 2. Will you use an external LLM like Claude 3.5 Sonnet or have your own? I believe Cursor uses an existing LLM, and the cost of inference makes it very hard for them to make money Thank you!
Wow. U have a super healthy work life balance as a founder of an early stage startup. Wake up at 7:30, start working day at 9:30, and u even have time to cook. Lol. It doesnt sound like the "founder mode" that i know in Silicon valley
Amazing, Marcos! Commenting on youtube videos is not really my thing but I do think that this one deserves. Keep on updating us with your journey. I believe it is not only helpful for you but also for everybody else who is living the same dream of having an athlete/entrepreneurial life balance. Kudos to you!
Marcos just wanted to say this is an absolutely great idea!! I just did a software engineer internship recently and I found the codebase really difficult to understand initially because of all the different components to it. This AI would be a game changer!!
hey man great job on picking up running. it just clears my head so well and refreshes me, especially morning runs (try them). make sure to stretch and not kill your legs.
I can't wait to see this journey unfold! Btw, your cooking skills are improving along with your work life-butter basting steaks with garlic and herbs? Yes please!
Does your AI collect data? How do you make sure that they are safe to use, especially professional wise? My company is wary of using AI as they could maybe build out something out of the codebases/snippets that are asked
Hey Marco! I just wanted to drop a quick note to remind you how incredible you are as a swimmer. Missing out on the Olympics is tough, but it doesn’t define your journey or your talent. Keep pushing yourself and remember why you started. Your hard work and dedication will pay off in ways you can’t even imagine. We're all cheering for you-let's get back in the pool and keep that motivation alive! 💪🏊♂
Thanks for sharing! Especially under the high pressure, good luck and all the best! I applied for YC with my friends last year but didn’t get accepted. Will definitely give another try.
To be honest it is fucking amazing how even working so much, you still manage to do a double session of training with a total of 2h 30 when you are working so much
Great video. Thanks for sharing as always. You are an amazing person and will achieve great things because you're a hard worker. You also are very intelligent. I hope your start up does great.
It almost sounds like a mini Shark Tank without the national TV involved as far as your Y Combinator demo goes! I know you'll do well! All the best to you!
your y-combinator batch is 90% AI startups you should try to see if you can combine your team with another because a lot have decent amounts of overlap. the team with the most votes Vendra and your company both seem to be streamlining workflow / productivity.
While it is true a lot of startups are doing similar things, the startup journey is so long and most often than not, companies pivot or redirect based on their customers! I would love to talk to you Ryan about what you’re interested in using Palmier for :)
Definitely looking jacked Marcos! We need to get you up on stage competing in a physique show?!?! Great idea for your company man, that is totally NEEDED!! OMG dude, that's one heck of a lunch! WOW!!!
Good question! Palmier isn’t for the development process, but the 70% of time software engineers spend outside of actually building: reviewing other people’s code, waiting for their code to get reviewed, writing up documentation and descriptions, fixing nits and other optimization, debugging issues, etc
Hey Marcos, its great seeing you undertake these new challenges! You're kind of motivating me to take on something new myself. What motivates you when going for such goals? Best of luck on them nonetheless ;)
defo need to incorporate more exercise in my founder routine! if you ever come by marina or want to work from the office let me know! i moved from Spain in january! 🙌
As a fellow big techie and long time follower of the channel, I also aspire to get into start ups one day. You’re an inspiration Marcos, especially with the Olympic prep discipline you had going. Respect 🫡🫡
Not quite! Source graph is to find snippets of code, mainly through semantic search. With Palmier you can search through your code in natural language (where is x feature implemented) and have Palmier review your code changes for any mistakes, security vulnerabilities and/or optimizations! (Also write the pr description for you)
@@marcosricopeng I see. Makes sense! Doesn't sourcegraph include Cody AI which allows for natural language search (I use it at my internship a lot)? The rest though seems really useful! Best of luck!
Hey there Marcos!! I'm Enrique Mateos from Spain. I've been following your channel for quite a long time now. I'm also swimmer here in Spain and I'm currently starting my PhD in Software Engineenring (focusing on Reinforcement Learning). First of all good luck for the journey you are stating with the startup. With the PhD I will be writing a lot of code and surely it will get a bit messy so a AI to assist understanding and bug-fixing my code is really interesting. I would love to give it a try and help with anything is in my hands. Hope to hear from you and good luck!! 🤗🤗
Hats off for that dish alone. Got me hungry. Okay, but Palmier, I don't see how a professional could rely on AI to tell him what the code base does. Simply because, again, the dev can be made responsible for the validity of his code, AI cannot be made responsible for anything.
I hope you do not give up on your dreams to be an Olympian. You are only 23 years old. You still have a lot of 'gas in the tank.' There is LA 2028 which is right in your backyard. Cheers and good luck!
Thank you marcos. it's been a while since I last saw your videos. just wanted to say that I used to have a crush on you. thank you for reminding me of showing the true color :D
Ok, I am old and stupid. But that car, no one was driving it. That was so cool. Do it again please. Is that only in SF? So glad you are back. Enjoy SF my favorite city.
For those wondering, I do not have my car Loki with me at the moment :( I’m only temporary staying in this apartment until YC ends. Don’t worry he’s doing well just staying with family. We’ll see him soon. I miss him too
do you mean cat?
Car 🚗 💨
We all miss our cars when we leave them with family ;)
You don't have your car? Lol
Haber si Loki aún te recuerda. Después de un largo tiempo sin estar contigo.
Saludos.!
Let’s go Marcos !!! The strength that you developed during your Olympic preparation will help you to achieve this new goal !! 💪
judgmentcallpodcast covers this. Pivoted idea, update soon :)

Been rooting for you Marcos since you were still 10k-ish subscribers! Good luck on your AI Startup!
Wowwww that was a long time ago - thank you for sticking around!!
same. I’ve been here since you had the duel meet with Stanford

nice, but doesn't github copilot already do automated code PR descriptions?
All the best! Nice to see you back with a new AI start up.
always a pleasure when you see marcos posting a new video !!!!
as a fellow dev, this is absolutely inspiring Marco!, can't wait to see another updates and hoping to start my own startup also!
Good to see you! Just wanted to tell you that your videos inspired me to keep going!
Best of luck with the startup man, great content as always!
very insightful, thank you for this series!! i'm a swe and the idea for palmier is great! going to join the waitlist
hey man great job on picking up running. it just clears my head so well and refreshes me, especially morning runs (try them). make sure to stretch and not kill your legs.
That’s exactly what my start up does under the hood. You are so lucky to be there bro.

Omg I love Palmiers alot good luck with your startup wishing you all the success

Just another wrapper over open ai🙌💵
Dude I discovered your channel yesterday and I subscribed...
The quality you put into videos is great...
♡♡♡
*I enjoyed watching you*
💗😌
Could you please make a video about how you got into YC? and what improvements did you make the next time around?
How do you document every video so well😮❤ i watched all videos in just a week. happy n excited to see u back 🧿👍
Who paid for the apartment everyday expenses workstation setup ?
To be honest it is fucking amazing how even working so much, you still manage to do a double session of training with a total of 2h 30 when you are working so much
You kind of have to, how else will you overcome the stress?
Hey Marcos Really Like Your Video buddy, keep it up!
lets go Marco!!!
From flight to accomodation to food everything is free and provided by y combinator as part of the programme?
I hope in the next Olympics we can challenge each other. Keep going my friend, you are one of the best content creators I have ever seen. 🍻✌️
Wish you the best Marcos!
Will you keep swimming?
Great video. Thanks for sharing as always. You are an amazing person and will achieve great things because you're a hard worker. You also are very intelligent. I hope your start up does great.
Would love to see this in prod, but are all the codes and data secured, is the model trained from this code or are you sticking to local computation?
Is there a way to contribute?
I mean is it open-source or something?
Thanks for taking US along for the day in the life💪😎💪😎👍
I'm not a software engineer but I can feel this change my life.
Whaaa?? You’re not a software engineer??
Te deseo toda la suerte del mundo en tu nueva etapa y tu proyecto. Seguro que te va salir todo fenomenal. Un seguidor desde España 😊😊😊

Thank you for this charming food blog 😆
That’s a really great idea! Def would look forward to it !
Let’s go day in the life is back, you are a great role model!
It’s backkkkk
Im curious as to why someone would choose Palmier over the latest version of copilot and others / what is unique about it.
Good question! Palmier isn’t for the development process, but the 70% of time software engineers spend outside of actually building: reviewing other people’s code, waiting for their code to get reviewed, writing up documentation and descriptions, fixing nits and other optimization, debugging issues, etc
bro, can u guid how to apply for YC.
good luck, man
As a runner that can't swim, it's nice seeing a swimmer run!
Hey Marcos, its great seeing you undertake these new challenges! You're kind of motivating me to take on something new myself.
What motivates you when going for such goals?
Best of luck on them nonetheless ;)
is there any inter or entry level opportunity available for the role of data scientist ?I would be love to be part of your incredible journey
What is ur usp? Ur competitive advantage?
Good to see you my man!

So cool you're trying to run a sub 4 marathon!! Looking forward to some running vlogs :-)
Wait how's your product different from Greptile?

Great video!! Please keep making these

You can come to Shanghai and go to the Shanghai Park Hotel, they have a similar snack called 蝴蝶酥, and it is bigger than your hand
What's the tech stack that you are using to build the app?

I didn’t know Shakespeare was watching my videos 😤🔥
@@marcosricopeng I don't even recognize the comment as English, nor the logic of the response. I'm getting old 😂
What is your running schedule for 4 sub marathon ?
I love when you speak code 😊
Hey Marcos hello from Berkeley! Love your videos :) I am sure you will eventually succeed at whatever you do down the road!
Thank you!!!

@ishaanpuri perhaps it does, I would need to look into that some more!
What is the model of that soundbar on your desk?
Your initial product is impressive, but major competitors will likely catch up soon. How do you plan to address this challenge?
Missing seening you in your Speedo swimsuits...never give up swimming!
