It's funny how some channels have fancy editing with music, transitions, etc., and then there's Alan! Raw, no fancy stuff and you really have to appreciate the simplicity of his videos. .
You remind me of my Dad (RIP) who did everything his own way and that was that. He built his own dome-home complex from scratch complete with a hydroponic farm dome, solar space heating (air), monolithic foundation cooling, wind turbine (power), and had a dowser come and locate his water well to be completely off-grid. He also had propane for a refrig and the stove as well as gas backup heat. He was an interesting man. Like yourself, my Dad got a lot of teasing and sideways glances, but this was because no one understood him or his intentions. They were all lemmings running together to a distant cliff. My Dad set up his own camp and stepped away from the crowd, and lived his life out, his way. God bless him and God bless you. Be safe!
Your dad sounds like my kind of guy a man on his terms, reminds me of dick proenoeke he one day decided to leave his job moved to Alaska and built his own cabin to live the last 40 years of his life in nature. there is a documentary "alone in the wilderness" that was made using his old home videos ,it was on TH-cam for free .definitely worth watching God bless be safe.
Alan is a brilliant madman, and I'm here for it! Love this guy. You can tell, he's sunk EVERY penny into this fortress and it's all going to be worth it!
Something I have had great success with to make a strong repair on plastics is: Super glue with, either graphite lead Pencil shavings) or powdered charcoal, sprinkled on top of the glue as quickly as possible !! I know it sounds crazy but works like a dream! Makes the repair as strong as the original plastic!! It’s a cheap, fast fix! Nothing to lose!
To be Alan’s age and working all week for Diesel Bros then work all weekend on the fortress is amazing I hope he gets it done so he can enjoy what he has built. Also get some security cameras up to help protect the place
I love how he jumps off the tractor and says “ahhh Shoot, I broke one of my Bolts” trust me Alen one broken bolt on that truck is the least of your worries… Friendliest truck in town. You drive down the road and it waves to everyone. Fenders flapping, doors flapping..
This is what hard working crazy people build. I know because I dug a 32 ft cave into granite with 1 room by hard . A hand held air chisel in about 6 months. It is awsome , 38 degrees cooler in there than outside. 108 the other day & 70 degrees f in there .
I wish there was a way you replace some of the tools he he lost and now needs. I wouldn't know what he is talking about but sure would help if someone did.
❤ You amaze me that you have done mostly all of this build of The Mountain Fortress by yourself over the years. Myself would love to hear you're backstory about how you got the idea and how long you have been working on the build. I would like to see a more detailed tour of the cave systems you made along with the inside rooms of The Mountain Fortress. ❤❤
Are you guys thinking at all. You build up a mountain Fortress and then plaster everything inside of it all over the internet. What is smart about that?
@@delbutler885 He never put anything on TH-cam when he was building his Fortress until Heavy D seen it and gave him and his crew a tour. Heavy D hired him after he sees all the equipment that is on the Fortress property and the knowledge that Alan has. Heavy D has like 1.4 million subscribers and they wanted to know more about The Mountain Fortress so Alan is trying to make a TH-cam channel.
Alan I am so glad Les was able to help you with the second wind turbine frame. They’re looking good up there at the top of the fortress! Alan you sell yourself sort, your content is always amazing and interesting. One great thing about your channel is the wonderful variety you provide! Looking forward to the cave exploration video! ❤️🙏
Tp help glue plastics back together, superglue and bakingsoda. Apply glue first then sprinkle bakingsoda to add strenght. Ive used it to repair a carbon fibre prop for my buddies paraglider!!! Ontop of dozens of other things
Allen, I was not putting your idea down I have been watching you since you started your videos I am a builder and have built some wild things for people myself I have often told people you dream it, draw it, I will build it and I love your dream and pray for your plans to come true be safe god bless
This video contains so much gold! The gloves (just like in dumb and dumber) might be my favorite scene in that movie. The rag for a gas cap. Endless gold!
Finished, I think the wizard has more creative visions then the time needed to complete them all. I am amazed at his creativity, his ability to design and fabricate is beyond measure. I truly hope that he creates a foundation or trust so that his work can be studied and preserved for future generations. Alan, nothing you do is ever boring, it's inspiring as much as it is educational, both in the content of your posts and the comments of many eager fans you enliven!
I love watching your videos for a lot of reasons but, probably the main one is getting to see that incredible view you've got up there. I find myself wishing I had a nice little mountain top, away from everyone else just like it. Apart from that view, you've got such great power options too. You've got so much wind and could potentially have acres of solar panels too if you wanted but, that view is priceless.
I love your vision, tenacity, and can-do spirit! I can’t wait until you finish this entire project and if there is ever a zombie apocalypse I know that you will be able to survive! 👍 😂
I think an A-frame with rollers that is retactable and removable would be a wise item for the I beams that extend out where you where lifting from. Simple and very handy if you are lifting large or heavy items to the roof top.
Your fabrication and abilities are great. The view from the turbines was breath taking. I know your mind was going loading all the equipment where you rode the stainless mixer. I'm waiting for the next episode of the Fortress.
Alan I been watching your videos and you Sir have a awesome attitude and there is no “Can’t make it happen” in your vocabulary ! Your down to earth and so fun to see what one man’s will and determination CAN DO. Have two questions! How many years ago did you start the fortress ? Second we’re can I buy a hat like yours. I seen some close but there too small? ❤
Can we imagine what the wizard would come up with if he got to gether with other great inventers of the 19th & 20th centuries!!!!! Those are the men & woman we need now a days.
Dave sparks just picked up some interesting equipment you could use to put heavy items on the top. A deal to be made and then Dave helps drag equipment up mountain.
Extremely interesting and amazing. I would Love to come up to your fortress and meet you in person and check out everything you have going on and help you work on it for a couple days. Keep the video coming; I think this one of the most interesting projects on TH-cam. Stay healthy and well.
THAT'S GOOD WIZARD you have a good friend in Lance to help you lift up the turbine frame up in the Fortress - you make me feel so giddy looking over the edge of the Fortress - but you both got the frame up to the very top safely - now talking about grinding back the bricks to install the window frame to fit - if you do grinding make sure you wear a mask you don't want that dust in your lungs. Stay healthy Wizard, stay healthy. You're just amazing Wizard working from your head without a structure drawn-out plan like many approved plans are required by a Building Inspector - is that required with your Fortress? But I guess you know what you're doing so far. Enjoying your progress - thanks for the update!!!
Ditto: I'm hoping Alan is only taking the mask off for a moment when making the videos however even that risks Concrete Dust Silicosis which is harming so many its considered the "New Asbestos". Would hate to see the video of the housewarming party when the Fortress is done with Alan sitting there in a Wheel Chair hooked up to an Oxygen Tank. See too many Widows selling their Deceased Husbands pet project that he never got to enjoy because he didn't wear his respirator and died of lung disease. Wouldn't be mentioning this if we didn't care about you Alan. Best!
I enjoy your escapades AND the views of the geology around you! You live in the Disturbed Land of UTAH. The Midas Comet shoved Utah over a hundred miles toward the southeast, then the Laramide Orogeny shoved ancient rock layers over younger rock layers, pushing everything up to 50 miles at a time toward the east. That first time took perhaps5 minutes, the second took millions of years.
Alan, I look forward to seeing your videos because I never know for sure what you will be working on. It won’t be long until your fortress will be finished and the inside work begins. Looking forward to it. God bless and protect you always. ❤️🙏🙏👍👍🌟🌟❤️
alan you might think some of the stuf you do its boring or it doesent have anything special like dose center blocks but i always wonder how you cut that bloc like that and when i saw it i thought that it had a very special way to do it and its real simple when some one like you teach other people so please please dont skip any part of the prosses so we could all learn toughether great video take care see ya soon

On my 3rd video here and this is quickly becoming a favorite channel. Because I not only feel inspired but also admire what I see as meditative hard yet relaxing and fulfilling work . Love to spend a month meditating with you working on the mountain top! 😊
Allan, I know you are really focused on getting your Fortress livable, but you should focus on getting a reliable work truck up and running. Something that isn't literally falling apart. Also, I can't remember how your shutters are going to be, but if you are able to make them like the steering vanes on a Swamp Buggy, you could have wind directing into them even when its blowing 90 degrees off, might not be 100% as going the proper direction, but more then what would make it in there now. And for when you need them totally shut, they could still lie flat against the building. Just Ideas, that I hope you find useful. Keep up the great work!
I liked your poured block cells and rebar. I’ve built government buildings and they are fortresses! We had to test all batches of concrete for extra strength testing. Concrete company had to pay for replaced weaker concrete that failed as you can Imagine.

I agree!
I could watch Alan all day, he is a man who always thinks out of the box
his thinking is like a fart in a frying pan
Agreed. I love it when the Diesel guys edit in complex algebra and formulae, when Alan is deep in thought or explaining something complex. lol
