@@missingremote4388 For sure!! I’ve flown over it and you can’t possibly imagine the amount of old equipment he has… it’s almost like a wrecking yard for old machines.
Alan I’m with you every video step along the way. I think you could make lots of money selling some of your equipment. You need to take your track loader or the Michigan up your rode and widen it. You have a huge inventory of valuable stuff that you don’t need. It would allow you to finish the fortress.
Just rub a little dirt on it ☺️. Actually when I get oil spill or oily tools and away from supplies I do put dirt on it and allow it to soak up the spill. Rub your hands with dirt and it cleans up great. Good to see it fire up and run so well.
Sorry Alan about the oil bath the car took, but could have predicted that with the position/elevation of the Michigan, all that snow/rain. Still at least you got her running before the hose went. I bet that hose will cost more than you think too. Still if you can afford to replace both, that will just leave the others to go soon I suspect. I don't want to sound negative, just realistic. Thanks for all the good work you do with Big D etc, always enjoy your appearance on the channel. You are a magnificent example to youth that the more you learn, the more you can do when you have the knowledge!
Sometime while thinking what to make a video about here’s a few I would like to see. How you came about getting this property & when , a what you have on the lower property of equipment & stuff and where you got it.and why you have it.? Love your channel.
When I was about 14 Allen I remember the very first piece of heavy equipment I ever ran was an old Michigan rear steer no cab no wraps canopy but I grew up on that thing and ran it a lot when I was 14 thanks for getting that old thing going man I'm not kidding you that old stuff is cool Keep On Keepin On Ellen you are really cool man oh yeah thanks for all your videos I like them
Yea I thought it was going to run away on ya!! Dud i hope the tree Huggers are not watching there heads will explode with that oil every were. may not want to show much of that. Great video keep them coming!
Hey Wizard!! How great to hear that old Michigan start up and watch the bucket in action!! Wow, that’s some high pressure in those lines. Hope you got all the oil off your car and it’s all right!
I didn’t know if I should be shocked and sorry for you or laugh when the bucket went down and what I thought was water showered your car. Only after you started talking about the hydraulic fluid did I realize what really happened. Thank you for mentioning the prices. I never thought having those kind of toys was so expensive. It puts it all in perspective.
Oil line went on hlab (knuckle boom) , took the fitter 2 hours to get to me, 30 minutes to replace hose. Took the house holder 4 days to shift the oil off her windows, neither of us were happy that day 😂😂😂😂
My hydraulic systems teacher once said that in a hydraulic system, there are two kinds of pressure: PSI and PSO - Pressure Staying In and Pressure Squirting Out. You had way too much PSO in that loader.
What is Alan's background? Was he in the military as a mechanic because he's smart as a whip when it comes to motors and fixing just about anything he touches! The Master Wizard 😊😊
Dude if you ever wanna get a TON more subscribers just start rebuilding some of those cool ass trucks... People will watch that for Sure! Good luck bro!
One time I was operating a forklift on an (indoor factory being built) construction site, picking up 55 gallon drum, garbage containers :) I pulled back on the tilt lever, but use the Auxiliary ever by mistake. There was no "Auxiliary" function attached to it, and it sprayed all oil on the lunch table and everyone's coats :( In my defence, standard procedure is to PLUG open lines like that :( .. I was also an apprentice.
That's AWESOME you got it running, but it sucks you blew a hydraulic line! They are expensive these days! They used to be half the price just 10 years ago!
Hey Allen , you should try the new hose place in town. I bet they can fix you up and probably alot cheaper then the big city. Elevated is the name of the place.
❤😮 At least you know the hydraulic pressure is great lol. Sorry about the line but keep the original old one that is still good just INCASE. I know you will because you keep everything and that's a good thing.
Alan, have you ever thought about leasing a small portion of your mountain fortress to a cell company or any firm that could erect a tower up there? Could probably be a good source of additional income.
One man, One Fortress. Allen whats your schedule to finish the fortress? I mean to a livable home? Dry walled, plumbed and electrical ready for the market if you ever wanted to sell? Or is it just some place to put all your stuff and it will remain a cinder blocked box for your stuff to live in? Asking for friends who say its just a hobby you'll abandon as you age.
When i was watching Alan going up to the fortress i was thinking like "it would be crazy if he gets up there and everythings gone and the top is just perfectly flat"
Slices of bread clean up oil really well. People who had to repair machinery in bread factories found that the oil on their hands was all gone by the end of a shift, after handling all the bread. 😅
HeY ALAN , THATS THE THING WITH THESE MACHINES , rams, hydraulic lines and hydralic fluid costa a lot, not just the engine, keep going love the content as ever 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
Alan... Is hydrualic oil a synthetic or a petrolium based oil? The only reason I ask is most heavy equipment have so many hydrualic systems on them and there is a large quanity of oil involed. I know from my time in the Army as a truck driver we had to be very careful when ever we changed oil and if oil was spilled we had to use clay based (Kitty Litter) dry sweep to clean it up. The we had to properly dispose of it. The only equipment we had in our motor pool that required hydrualic oil was our 10K pound RT fork lifts.
great as always ............. from items seen in the background of the video, you seem to have lots of old machines and vehicles, and scrap that you may not need., couldn't this be sold or scrapped to help with funds to keep the things you need, and require to keep going, and to forward your fortress build ...... I'm not preaching or telling you what to do, its a serious question, from here in the u.k / England
Great job. Got a question for you would you sell one of your 6x6s my wife and I live off grid up in the mountains near Troy mt it would be a great help
lol what luck you have. Think will start calling you schlerock instead of Mr wizard. Just kidding you’ll always be the wizard. Love the channel ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Oh, c'mon Al, you just wanted to rust proof everything, we know the tooth lol. I guess the distance it went, especially considering you were always at pretty low revs, means the hydraulic pump has good pressure and volume at least.
Always love seeing Alan out there in the middle of nowhere making ancient pieces of equipment work like new again.
The road is a high climb. would get newer tires for non slip traction
@@missingremote4388 For sure!! I’ve flown over it and you can’t possibly imagine the amount of old equipment he has… it’s almost like a wrecking yard for old machines.
reminded me of a excavation site@@RealRickCox
Michigan is running, and the Nissan is shining. Sounds like a productive day.
Lot of the old equipment has alot of use left In them keep up the hard work
Every time I watch one of your videos my daughter-says. this is the castle guy. Makes me smile every time
This is what I always think, I was 50 on Monday, I still think maybe when I grow up I could build a castle... 😂
Alan I’m with you every video step along the way. I think you could make lots of money selling some of your equipment. You need to take your track loader or the Michigan up your rode and widen it. Agreed..
But it is evident that Alan has caught the deadly hoarder bug!😅
He ain't parting with ANYTHING😊
Just rub a little dirt on it ☺️. Actually when I get oil spill or oily tools and away from supplies I do put dirt on it and allow it to soak up the spill. Rub your hands with dirt and it cleans up great.
Good to see it fire up and run so well.
I love what Alan calls a "mostly clean trunk"
A "mostly clean" trunk? LOL That Michigan sure sounds good running!
Man that was unfortunate, the hydraulic failure . Nice Work Getting It Started Up !!
Well Done, for getting the Beast going. What a moment !!
Great to see Les back on the scene too.

I love all of those old Dodge pickup trucks that you have I'm a big fan of the old Dodge
What a fantastic view of the sky. The top floor of the fortress would be a great place to look at the stars on a clear night!
Wizard, I love watching you get your work accomplished!
At least Alan your Car got well lubed and anti rust protection for other things!!!
Sometime while thinking what to make a video about here’s a few I would like to see. How you came about getting this property & when , a what you have on the lower property of equipment & stuff and where you got it.and why you have it.? Love your channel.
It's awesome watching you and Less
There’s something just so relieving about watching your content. Thanks as always.
A good attitude for the situation. Good to see
When I was about 14 Allen I remember the very first piece of heavy equipment I ever ran was an old Michigan rear steer no cab no wraps canopy but I grew up on that thing and ran it a lot when I was 14 thanks for getting that old thing going man I'm not kidding you that old stuff is cool Keep On Keepin On Ellen you are really cool man oh yeah thanks for all your videos I like them
14:48 .. you could reuse the protective "spring" stye line cover! ...
Yea I thought it was going to run away on ya!! Dud i hope the tree Huggers are not watching there heads will explode with that oil every were. may not want to show much of that. Great video keep them coming!
Love that sound when it starts up man
Hey Wizard!! How great to hear that old Michigan start up and watch the bucket in action!! Wow, that’s some high pressure in those lines. Hope you got all the oil off your car and it’s all right!
Dang! Post pt2 soon. Inquiring minds want to know what prompted the fix and what project is next with that giant rig
Alan, glad to see the loader is running, sorry it blew a hose and sprayed your car.. better it happened now than on your next work day with it..
“Luckily my trunk is mostly clean,” 😂😂😂
Organized chaos 😂
Well you got it running. Great job. Thanks
I didn’t know if I should be shocked and sorry for you or laugh when the bucket went down and what I thought was water showered your car. Glad you got it running Alan That sucks the line blew
The Wizard can do it!
Wizard, you are just the best type of person there is. You bring much joy Thank you
Oil line went on hlab (knuckle boom) , took the fitter 2 hours to get to me, 30 minutes to replace hose. Took the house holder 4 days to shift the oil off her windows, neither of us were happy that day 😂😂😂😂
Hey, Alan. From Alan. P.s. love your videos keep on keeping on. And dang that's impressive how far that hydraulic fluid went. Take care and God bless.
My hydraulic systems teacher once said that in a hydraulic system, there are two kinds of pressure: PSI and PSO - Pressure Staying In and Pressure Squirting Out. You had way too much PSO in that loader.
good to see another wizard job.
Hey Alan !!! Well ,, At least it runs with "TLC" !!! 👍👍👍👍👍
Great to see you back at the Fortress Alan
Wizards don't need familiars or minions when they have friends. Friendship is a powerful force.
Glad to see you out at the fortress
Good job Allen, enjoy watching you bring Old Iron back too life.
“My car got lubricated.” I dub thee ‘QuickSilver’!
Good luck buddy, love the page! Much love from Oklahoma
Wizard gettin' it done!!!
What is Alan's background? Was he in the military as a mechanic because he's smart as a whip when it comes to motors and fixing just about anything he touches! The Master Wizard 😊😊
Your perseverance is amazing, and inspiring.
Well at least it's running ! But what a mess !

That's an awesome looking machine for sure.
Les is right shiny car and the window rubbers will stay soft at least on your drivers side.
I know it’s good practice to oil your tools, but DAMN!!!!
Your the greates Man in the Mountains.
You keep making progress.
Bad luck Alan
You have some amazing skills.
You have a great compound
Wizzy’s been munching the ‘schrooms again. Dumps a bucket of water in his trunk and doesn’t anticipate hydraulic lines breaking. Wizzy, just say no!
Always something. Sorry. Good luck. Thank you 😊
❤😮 At least you know the hydraulic pressure is great lol.
Sorry about the line but keep the original old one that is still good just INCASE.
I know you will because you keep everything and that's a good thing.
You might think of keeping a bottle of dish detergent around for cleanup hydraulic oil spills.
All that oil should give the car an extra MPG boost. Helps it slip right through the air.
This is what I came to say but I knew someone else was going to say it great minds think alike.😊😊😊😊
Happy valentines day.
I haven’t seen a gusher on a car like that since Prom night 😂 18:05
Alan you at the best!
The wizard is a national treasure
Thought I saw a on top of the oil filter housing you could put that gauge in. I would not call it a oil bath just a coating of rust inhibitor
I could hear that line spraying the minute you started the machine

Rust Prevention. might want to get tome silica packets to dry that up. lol
Hey Allen at timestamp 10:36 your car in winterized
