I've never realised until now that when adding a new monster from deck to hand, in the anime the duel disk just spits out the correct card from the deck for you to pick up. So it's a brilliant idea to include a space for your hand while you need to take out the deck and manually search for your card to add. I hope in the future we could integrate some sort of auto-shuffling mechanism. Amazing work on this duel disk!
This is by far the most interesting thing I've seen! Even tho it's kinda big and takes a huge space for a duel disk, but a genius like you could definitely find a solution for that!
In order to store it or not-in-duel form, maybe you could make the field fold as a triptic using something like door hinges so each part only flips one way
This is actually really impressive. It may not be aesthetically pleasing but the amount of forethought is obvious. I kind of like not having a field because they’re cumbersome and pointless when a $20 playmat can do just the same. Thanks for the inspiration. I’m going to something similar.
Whay type of magnets did you use because my original duel disc was inspired by your version 1 but when i made the 6th incarnation it was more anime accurate and just too bulky i feel like if i usd magnet's i could finally get kt right
Glad it inspired you! They're neodymium magnets, size is here: 16:28. I can't assure you it would be lighter, because every card would need magnet-receptive inserts/sleeves
If they made magnetic sleeves, insert card sloths like in atms for GY, maindeck, extra deck etc, the dual disk would be a real succes. implementing augmented reality so that we could put in the codes of our cards in a dueldisk program so thay we summon pre-programed cards they would appear in augmented reality. Also that dueldisk could comunicate through phases of the other so that one could press a button for end phase so the other dueldisk would go to draw face and automatically give you a card.
The use of magnets here is ingenious. Perhaps if the board could also retract and slide in on itself to save space, while still maintaining its ability to magnetically hold the cards, this duel disk build would be MUCH BETTER; Then combine that design idea with augmented reality glasses.......im kinda excited about the possibilities here.
Something that can help if the cards fall out of the slots is to glue a small cardboard circle cut out to a spring then glue the spring to the top inside of the slot. 😁
Amazingly done! Though I think sliding parts like with the konami model field spell zones might make the balde a bit more wieldy! Like slide out extra monster zones as neededz
Very nice. It'd be cool if you could get the software to keep track of each player's graveyard so that you wouldn't have to hand it over every time your opponent wanted to check it. I suppose it might be more obnoxious to update in real time as you play, though
@@ToaBastignika or may be putting some form of qr code in the sleeves, but not visible enough to be perceived so you know the card, though i don't know if it would work.
I think the biggest problem for the duel disk concept is the cards themselves. They need to all be almost metallic in structure, each with their own digital code of some kind so the duel disk itself could be upgraded to read these codes, that way the disk could just spit out the card your searching for and also be readable by the disk itself.
That sounds good, you wouldn't worry if they get bent if they're not real cards, you could even make these cards smaller so the disk itself and the blade are smaller
Look for "phone holder sponge tripod". I unscrew the tripod part, (it broke actually lol) and the circular pieces were made with cardboard and painted with light blue acrylic :)
I really wish there was a way to implement a shuffle or a thing where the Gy would take your card so you don’t have to put it in there like in the show where the just feed it into the slot and it goes in but that would be complicated cause of the tech you got to put in and where it would go on the disk
Pretty cool, now just work up the size, but you're really in the correct path. Also, patent it before some ass profits of your idea, especially for fuckers as KONAMI.
Better then v1 , for v3 I'd try to copy from the original duel disks and cut down size of the blade by making magic & trap card slide in under the blade like in actual duel disks lugging that massive blade around would be hard also keeping it from getting damaged. Then I'd add a layer over the white areas of the blade and make inserts to hold cards in place magnets are cool and all but impractical. Having to sleeve all cards with magnets also carrying a magnetic deck around do I have to say more.
the level of craftsmanship on this is out of this world! awesome work!
Thank you!!!! 😁

Amazing work on this duel disk!
Right? Anime duel disks do magic xd
Thank you!
Magnetic Receptive Inserts, coolest thing I have heard all week, what a sick idea
I hope it's strong enough to face outside conditions like wind, if so this is pretty amazing =)

The field looks like it can also be used for a rush duel in VRAINS.
10/10 Hope you can put up a tutorial one day :D
Awesome!! I like the “hand” slot but maybe have it to expose the hand, to prevent cheating
NGL, make this design looks more badass and it'll sell for sure. Love the layout and the magnetic inserts is a dope idea
Thanks!!
I liked the magnetic field the most.
Thank you!
the side-squeezing deck holder is also a really good idea
@@SurrealKeenan Thank you!!

this is super cool! i thought about magnets myself but wasn't sure if it would make everything bulky

Good work, man.
I think a gauntlet that keeps all your card is already a good idea.
The magnet thing, just brilliant
Thanks!
Somebody give this legend a gold star
Thanks!!
This is honestly epic! I would really buy this. Konami needs to hire you to make this for them! Great work!
Thanks for the kind words!!

Thanks! I considered that in 15:55 but didn´t want to add more weight
Now you only need an opponent(probably a friend). With a duel disk as well. Then DUEL!!!
Something that can help if the cards fall out of the slots is to glue a small cardboard circle cut out to a spring then glue the spring to the top inside of the slot. 😁
I'm sure a lot of card games could have duel disks if the idea of magnet cards caught on
I love this video great craftsmanship 👍🙂

Sorry for all the typos, sleep deprivation and fat thumbs does not a good comment make.
Now if only we can put this in a motorcycle
i would maybe try dulling the edge of the box cutter blades so you would not damage sleeves and cards
The box cutters was a proxy solution, a thin metal would be better :P
@@ToaBastignika why not small washers?
@@miracult Didn't thought of that! Might work, but it could leave a round mark on your cards

Thank you!!!
Amazing !! Kickstarter ?
We need this to trend like asap Konami just make a fucking duel disk your fan base has asked for over 10 years now
Thanks! You can share if you want :p
how did you get the cards to be magnetic

What phone holder was used in the production of the duel disk? I love the circular design, but I couldn't find anything like it on Google 😅

dam i wish i had a phone holder then i could make one too because this is the coolest thing ive seen today and i searched up a cat on a skateboard
lol thanks!
Can you do a tutorial on how to make this spectacular duel disk
Thanks! check 7:22 onwards
Where you get the materials, I wanna build one
Art supply stores, they sell paper, glue, paint and cardboards, at least here in Chile
Looks epic
Thank you!
Where can I buy this? XD
Sweet, instead of a blade for secondary protection you have a whole shield.
Lol xD
This is awesome!

Get this man a job at Mattel or something

Gotta play magnet warriors!
