Brilliant Brilliant Review! I bought a 1 year old 1.6 TDI on the basis of this review. And I was not dissapointed! Well done. You have the ability to describe, car reviews, in a very clear, understandable way. SEAT should employ you as their Sales Exec! Thanks. Keith
Thinking of getting one of these, second hand. After watching this excellent review all doubts have been removed. Someone said it’s a “Jack of all trades”, I can see why now. Great job, have subbed👍
Thank you for the comment James. At first I was hesitant about reviewing this spec but in terms of what you get it is perfect and very reasonably priced.
Really enjoyed this review. My son has just ordered the Arona FR with 115bhp engine. Very reassuring to know that he's chosen well. One more subscriber !
I have the Xperience with the manual 6 speed gearbox and 1.0l 115PS engine. It is a brilliant car, all you say and more. The Xperience gives you the added extras you mentioned. It really is an undiscovered gem in its class of small SUVs as there are, even now at the end of 2020, very few around.
Great comprehensive review. Seriously contemplating getting one of these. You have made it possible for me to make a proper informed decision. Thanks a lot for posting.
Really enjoyed your review of the Seat Arona, you say it as you see and feel it As im changing my car come the end of the year, i now think having watched your video, i will have to give serious thought to buying this car. The main reason being, is that i need an Suv.or a Cuv.type car, as being pensioner's, my wife and i find it difficult to enter and exit an ordinary vehicle, so having been impressed by your do and dont's of this small car. Ive a feeling it suit our needs, as i mostly do very low mileage city driving, and on an occasional duel carriage way jaunt, every now and again. Thank you for your explicit review and honesty re this car.👍🤘
James Ure thank you so much for your comment. I’m genuinely touched that this video has given you food for thought in purchasing your next car. If there is anything else you wish to ask James please do so. I do recommend having a drive in the Arona.
@@AutoBears Thank you very much for your reply to my question, i will probably try and book an appointment for a test drive of the vehicle mentioned.i.e.the Seat Arona.nearer the time im due to change my 1.4.turbo.Moka.Elite. once again Thank you for your expert advice, very much appreciated.👍🇬🇧
I think this is the best ever review I have watched on cars and the models I am currently busy taking on my radar to lease or buy very soon this year and given issues most designers of such cars in such segments forget to pay attention to, being that drivers are women too and not every woman is like whatever, but some are critical too, and let me be honest, I understand zero of the engine and all that, but as a woman who dresses up and is in heels and likes to at times drive long distances visiting places and friends in France or Austria and Italy, where roads can be very different or difficult to manouvre as well as bumpy or high and low and hilly etc etc, parking in small villages or spaces in also bigger cities, all things to consider when willing to drive in both style as comfortably fun while having a trustworthy engine that is intuïtive, responsive and fast as well, and trust me, we do forget things when driving and having our brains going a thousand places and multitasking too... for me, I wish this car had more plush and lush interieur and feeling to it, especially the design of the dashboard and the arm rest which isn't there, but I think all these will be dealt with by Seat in future models of Arona which is why I can rely on getting me a private lease of a full option model and trust on the upgraded improved future model.... I just hope that automobile designers for once better listen and look at women and what is important to add or adjust in cars...like the small detail of glove box in Volvo XC40 to hang a small bag or handbag to, or a better bigger arm rest and vanity mirrors of better light and visibility both front and back seats and a small compartment for scarfs and such, cause being also a woman in certain Muslim nations, some of us need to have our abbaya or designer or any other scarfs beautifully stored and always with us, but I can never find a place to have those and must always reach on the back seat and ..... anyhow, this is a female friendly car so far but could be a whole lot better .... otherwise we must continue to look for German or certain British cars that do provide a lot more space and features for women to drive both funnily fun and stylishly good as well as safe and sound
Excellent review, as others have commented - and you’ve got me sold on the Arona. Liking the colour scheme too, but will be going for the 115psi model with DSG. Many thanks. 😀👍🏼
Thank you for the comment Sherrie. I’m glad I have been able to answer your questions. I’m sure you will really enjoy the Arona. This year the face-lifted Arona will be released.
One of the main reasons I like this car is that it doesn't have shiny black plastic everywhere, or indeed anywhere. So for me it's not an interior lacking excitement, but sensibly designed. I'm totally baffled why most cars now have the irritatingly reflective, scratch-prone black plastic. Looks terrible. Thanks for the review.
I’m new to Autobears and enjoying the no nonsense reviews. I would like to point out one thing that rarely gets mentioned on reviews though. When talking about road noise it is important to take note of what tyres the vehicle is shod with. Some tyres are much noisier than others - and nothing to do with the vehicle itself. Low profiles and low rolling resistance tyres in particular are, I think noisier than other types. Just saying... Thanks for some great reviews and I’ll be sure to be checking your videos out in future.
Hi Eric. Thank you for your comment. It’s something I have mentioned a couple of times with cars and I’m thinking of noting it from now on. My Corolla video I do mention road noise and the tyre make. Thank you again.
@@AutoBears They are pretty much the same cars to be fair, I had the Ibiza FR 95 found it out when it snowed, just picked up my Arona 150, love the car! It pulls well in 6th to! Great reviews!
42hill hi there. Thanks for the comment. The Vitara feels a bit more rugged and has the potential to go off-road with 4x4. The Arona doesn’t give you that option. The revised Vitara does now come with a plusher interior with a few soft touch plastics.
Great review, I have the Xellence Lux TSI 115 DSG on order, hopefully delivery mid May. My only issue is even the top spec doesn't have grab handles and no rear compartment ceiling light, but I'll live with that, mine is Desire Red with Black roof😃
Interested Bystander thanks for your comment. Yes every video I learn something new and put it into the next video. If I get another Arona I will of course rectify that.
mohamed hadjsaid thank you for your comment. Armrests are a nicety to have. Being based on the Ibiza you know the armrest will be same which can sometimes obstruct the handbrake.
Awesome review ! Is there any difference in suspension setup between the se tech and the fr ? Since in the ibiza the fr model has stiffer suspension than the base model is that also true for the arona or is the fr just for looks and equipment?
Sead Candic with the 95bhp being only a 5-speed manual you’re at quite high revs when at motorway speeds. The 115bhp 6-speed manual has the additional refinement.
@@AutoBears I have another question. I would like to buy a Seat Arona 1.0 tsi 95hp. Are revs high at speed 130 km/h (80mph)? Or is it related to higher speeds? Great review and thanks a lot!
Sead Candic it can be at high revs at 80mph. However, European cars may have their engine rev differently compared to the UK. Another reason why I’d recommend the 115bhp.
Thank you for your comment. I will do my best to get something arranged after this current situation is over. In the meantime please enjoy the i30 Fastback N review which has recently been uploaded.
At 0:30 you say you don’t have to pay any more money than for a regular hatchback then at 0:39 you say for just a little more money than the Seat Ibiza?
Jez Stokes hi Jez. Thank you for your comment. Yes i did say it like that but I meant you can get the Arona for the price of a current hatchback. Not pay huge amounts of money for one.
The Procrastination-ator thank you for the comment. The FR is a great spec and does come with a lot of standard kit. I always recommend having a test drive at your local dealership and seeing the different specs up close.
You haven't tried out the 1,2 130 HP Three-Cylinder in (for example) the Peugeot 2008 or 3008, haven't you? It's the much more refined, smoother (and therefor better) engine
Thank you for your comment. I’m guessing you haven’t looked at AutoBears reviews have you? I’ve driven the 3008 and new 208. The engines felt very alike to be honest.
@@AutoBears You're right: I didn't watch these reviews. I was surprised about your verdict on the VW engine. Don't get me wrong: It's not a bad engine, not at all. But compared to the PSA-engine, it's by far less nippy and less refined. I've tried out the VW-engine in the new Kamiq (95 HP) and the T-Cross (115 HP), and I wasn't convinced on that engine. Especially in terms of vibrations when idling.
That’s something I will look into. But found both engines very good. Yes the PSA engines tend to be more powerful than their rivals but lose out with the gearboxes and dependability. It’s a tough one.
Hard touch plastic, no arm rest and no alarm!! Would be nice to know if they come as options or not. What else don't you get??? It's a 'no' to this model from me
Thank you for your comment. If you go up to the FR spec you do get leatherette on the dash to boost the quality. The SE technology is still a very decently specced car.
Got the 115 with 7 speed dsg se technology all in black. 2019 bought in 2024 with just 23k. Amazing car. Enjoyed the review
