I love how so many people here are oblivious to the fact that this is based on an actual children's song called 'My Grandfather's Clock'. Mcgee and Scott simply made creepy remixes of it, no-one copied or stole anything from each-other.
+Garner465 although I agree it was Chris Vrenna from NIN that did McGee's version. I know the point was that it was a child's song but just wanted to put that in there :) again I agree with you .
This is even more eerie when you know the song behind the tune. I can't remember the whole thing, but the beginning went "They bought that old clock on the day he was born, it was always his beauty and pride..." and the chorse was "90 years without stumbling / his life seconds numbering / but it stopped / short / never to go again / when the old man died"
I came up with this tune a year back that I remembered. "On the first trip to Wonderland, she fell down down. On the first trip to Wonderland, she fell so far. She was mad, she was mad, oh dear little, she was mad. So insane, that she killed the queen."
The knocking sound effect that starts at 2:04 is incredible when listened to with headphones. I honestly thought there was something knocking on the wall in my room the first time I heard it.
Well, the song has My Grandfather's clock in it. Which is a very popular and relaxing type of folk song. The song is kinda sad, though, if you read the lyrics to the song. And it's theme does fit very nicely in the game.
I always imagine a child playing with a toy train set. A peaceful setting, just a child and his train set...his little cuckoo clock ticking away till it rings for afternoon tea time with mummy and daddy... hmhmhm... :) Great job! :D
well when Mr.bumby ( I say that name in disgust) met his last train you can say that Alice finally had her resolution so I guess everything went back to normal ( maybe not as normal then before) but at least no one is hurting anymore
@Allaiyah Weyn The toy you mentioned was the Fischer-Price "Grandfather's Clock" Teaching Clock from the 60s. There's a clip of one up here on TH-cam. ;)
By the way, this is kinda like Asylum Playrooms from Shadowman. Unsettling noises? Check. Spooky interlude? Check. Distorted classical music that would later be used in a Five Nights at Freddy's sequel? What a coincidence.
I've only just discovered this rapper took the song sang some words over it and copyright claimed it as their own... alice released in 2000 with this song and the rapper released their song in 2005 and so far it seems to have struck every single version of this song with a copyright claim.... how rude.
Traumas de Fnaf 2. Desde entonces siempre que quiero jugar Alice y llego a la parte donde suena está música me da bastante miedo, cosa que nunca pasó cuando jugaba Alice de niño

thank you for clarifying! I thought I recognized it!
It's also used as the Puppet's song in FNAF2.

I'm playing this song over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again. And then I play it again.
I hate how almost everyone is obsessed with fnaf and also fnaf came out way after American McGee's Alice
Me too
Realized
I can actually imagine the original Alice from the books saying "I'm not edible". Sounds like something she'd say.

I always found while playing the game that music was the creepiest. It has that 'little child' feel that is so unnerving. Amazing level, too.
The knocking sound effect that starts at 2:04 is incredible when listened to with headphones. I honestly thought there was something knocking on the wall in my room the first time I heard it.
The music: **stops**
Puppet: So your choosing death
I love how it starts becoming creepier and creepier. Gives me chills...

"ill have that turtle shell now you disgusting ogre"
"Over my dead body!"
"ill try to acomadate you"
I only wish EA makes more of these amazingly fantastic creepy Alice in Wonderland games, but no.. EA has gone rubbish
Worse; they're preventing American McGee from making another one.
♫♪♡when she grow up, up, grow up, up; she has gone mad, mad, gonne mad, mad; after some fire and dust mad, mad, gonne mad, she has gonne mad♡♪♫
OMG Stringed instruments + Music box twinkles + vocals= EPIC
Tick. Tock. Feed the Croc.

Great job! :D
For some reason this track makes me think of the insane children and makes me wonder what kind of fate they suffered...
well when Mr.bumby ( I say that name in disgust) met his last train you can say that Alice finally had her resolution so I guess everything went back to normal ( maybe not as normal then before) but at least no one is hurting anymore
boy Alice Madness Returns is the sequel to this game.
Uh no duh :v
Not sleeping tonight yay
I never sleep at night uwu
Almost

@MosoStuff This whole game creeps me the hell out. Some of it's just creepy, and the rest makes you want to sleep with the lights on.
@LikaLaruku The tune is My Grandfather's clock...and the toy...it was this clock toy thingy...
@Allaiyah Weyn The toy you mentioned was the Fischer-Price "Grandfather's Clock" Teaching Clock from the 60s. There's a clip of one up here on TH-cam. ;)
Yeesh, that cat sure scares the heck outta me, eh? D:
Wow the music has such an ominous and suspenseful feel to it, eh?
You're thinking of "My Grandfather's Clock." If you look it up it has that in the chorus, so it's probably called by both names.
Or ended up being one of the Duchess's "light snacks".
And besides from that it makes me sleepy ^~^
yea, i thought this plays for the first time in the pale realm. this is why i could never find the track, lol.
By the way, this is kinda like Asylum Playrooms from Shadowman. Unsettling noises? Check. Spooky interlude? Check. Distorted classical music that would later be used in a Five Nights at Freddy's sequel? What a coincidence.
The tune is "my grandfather's clock". As for the toy I don't know.
It sounds exactly like the music box from Disney's Magical kingdom online LOL. I know because the music box version is in my favourites :>
Amazed that Nobody has noticed Beethovens Fifth in here...
8:40 m.th-cam.com/video/EQIVWhKhwPA/w-d-xo.html
Reminds me of the insanity of doing drugs and being mentally abused
@LikaLaruku I think it's a tune box that you are thinking of...
I've only just discovered this rapper took the song sang some words over it and copyright claimed it as their own...
alice released in 2000 with this song and the rapper released their song in 2005 and so far it seems to have struck every single version of this song with a copyright claim.... how rude.
qué bonito
The first minute of this track is my ringtone! ;D
Omygo I love messed up stuff
@LikaLaruku Maybe your thinking of a Metrenome.
@Phantomsbreath I've seen the gameplay, and I couldn't have typed it better myself. DX
Darkness...
Claus what are you doing here aren't you supposed to be COMMANDING AN ARMY?
I'm sorry but.... I love this game.... I love it.....
Oh
You're forgiven, Commander.
my grandfathers clock..
Technically, you are edible in some respects, Alice. But it would be rather barbaric to do so.
@RoseBunny117 Do you mean that one from Pandora Hearts? I love that manga, possibly the best Alice adaptation out there.
It isn't from anything. I just randomly made it up XD.
The melody is based off of On the first day of christmas...
god stop the knocking its freaking me out!!!
I'm making this my theme song
Traumas de Fnaf 2. Desde entonces siempre que quiero jugar Alice y llego a la parte donde suena está música me da bastante miedo, cosa que nunca pasó cuando jugaba Alice de niño

Hehe, more creepy than FNAF's take on it.
IM DONE! NOPE!!!!!!😤
the video isnt even about the game its about the music -.-
Where is it from? o.o
Make that two.
@owlsandwalruses I do :)
we're all mad here
It's actually got nothing to do with Korn.
so yea me thinks Scott ripped music box theme from this game (trying to be at least the smallest bit agreeable).
Scott cawthon didn't rip it from this game...infact, the sing isn't even American McGee's. it's a nursery rhyme called grandfather's clock...
mindfuck shows its example here. lmfao
...is this the puppet music from fnaf 2
No American Mcgee's Alice came out way before fnaf 2. The actual song is called My Grandfather's Clock
Gronkh
FNAF brought me here
How!? Fnaf has nothing to do with AMA, AMA came out way before fnaf.
Alpha Mega Fire Folf The Guardian when did they say it originated from fnaf? Chill lmao
This is the music box theme from Five Nights at Freddy 2
It's The other way around actually
Alice Liddell ***** Yeah, American McGee's Alice was out WAAAY before FNAF2....the music box btw, is My Grandfather's Clock. Charming song...
american mcgee's alice was out even before 2000 if i'm not wrong
Actually, i think it was released on december 6th 2000, looked it up to be sure but yeah
