      @@Cyrusmagi sorry about the copy here but I think this explains it well. what does the Bible teach us about our need for Mormon temples today?
      FIRST: GOD INSTRUCTED HIS PEOPLE TO BUILD A SANCTUARY THAT HE…“MAY DWELL IN THEIR MIDST” (EXODUS 25:8).
      But because of their sin, God’s people were prohibited from entering into His presence. So God commanded that the sanctuary be divided by a floor-to-ceiling curtain which served as a physical reminder of the spiritual separation between us and God.
      SECOND: GOD ALSO INTENDED THAT THE TEMPLE WOULD SERVE AS THE CENTER OF THE OLD TESTAMENT SACRIFICIAL SYSTEM.
      Forgiveness of sins was dependent upon regular sacrifices being offered there. The Bible says that,
      “…under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins” (Hebrews 9:22).
      It was impossible for a man to be seen as right before God apart from these regular blood sacrifices. The presence of a Temple epitomized our separation from God, and our need for continual sacrifice.
      “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).
      CHRIST’S DEATH CHANGED EVERYTHING!
      The entire OT Temple System was designed to point us to our need for Jesus! The Bible tells us that
      “…in these sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins…But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God…For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified” (Hebrews 10:3-14).
      When Jesus went to the cross, He was offering himself up as our ultimate, fully-sufficient sacrifice. When Christ died, the Bible tells us,
      “And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom” (Matthew 27:51).
      In His crucifixion, Christ not only fulfilled our need for sacrifice, but also provided a way for us to have access to God. The Bible tells us that we can now,
      “…have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh” (Hebrews 10:19-20).
      THIS IS WHY CHRISTIANS DO NOT ENGAGE IN TEMPLE WORSHIP ANY LONGER.
      Instead we celebrate how Jesus replaced the Old Covenant (with its temple practices) with a New and better one!
      “In speaking of a new covenant he makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away” (Hebrews 8:13).
      The Bible teaches that we no longer need a physical Temple because the purpose of the Temple is now fully and finally satisfied in Jesus.

    What a beautiful video! Each Temple that is built brings hope to a dark world. We are like mariners lost at sea, and the Temple is like the fresnel lens which is what was installed inside of lighthouses to gather, and focus light farther away at sea. The light is like the light of Jesus Christ, as well as the eternal hope, that comes from holy ordinances and covenants we partake of inside the house of the Lord.

      @@Cyrusmagi I think we are all prideful in certain ways. I try not to be but we all face it even if we dont admit it. As far as the lds church goes it seems to reinforce a sense of pride over others. To attend the temple you need a reccomend and to get one you need to be worthy. When I was lds I was proud to be a temple recommend holding member. I never realized the struggle of those who for whatever reason felt unworthy to obtain one themselves. In reality none of us are worthy and we all fall short everyday. This includes president Nelson he also is unworthy in the eyes of God because we as humans are a sinful people. Thankfully we have Jesus Christ and His gift of Grace. When I see a lds temple I see pride.

      Not Pride but Glory to God, the house of the LORD. There is no pride in doing that which the Saviour commands. LDS temples have always been built upon the same reasons as the temples of old. There is no pride in my heart about being a temple recommend holder, the recommend is a piece of paper. In my heart it is the acknowledgement to my Saviour that I feel worthy to enter HIS house. Worthy with a little w - because we are not required to be perfect to enter the temple, just to be living as the saviour would have us live. You know this. So perhaps the reason is the pride you felt that makes you feel the way you do now. I am not worthy if worthy is Perfection. In Temples there is the opportunity to receive - teach, remind, prompt, love, show kindness remind us of how far we have come and the willingness to travel further. Be ye therefore perfect the Lord teaches - I like Elder Holland would add - Eventually. Much love.

      Monuments are there but not in the temple. They are there not for worshipping them but as to evoke the teachings of Christ and the apostles, to honor them for their sacrifice in that land. That exodus passage in the scriptures were given to the Israelites because they had a hard time stopping the habit of making Idols to worship to create other gods and religion. Example: The story of Micha on Judges 17. The church of Jesuschrist of Latter Day Saints members do not worship images, we just have mementos to remember Jesus’s teachings.

    • @rocks7126
      @rocks7126 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SLynn-ud6vg I think you don't understand some parts of the scriptures. If that be so with your understanding of that scripture I'll bring to your attention about the Ark of the Covenant, what did the Ark of the Covenant have upon it? We read in Ex 37:7-9 " 7 And he made two cherubims of gold, beaten out of one piece made he them, on the two ends of the mercy seat;
      8 One cherub on the end on this side, and another cherub on the other end on that side: out of the mercy seat made he the cherubims on the two ends thereof.
      9 And the cherubims spread out their wings on high, and covered with their wings over the mercy seat, with their faces one to another; even to the mercy seatward were the faces of the cherubims."
      Now these were graven images where they or where they not? They were made to be upon, apart of and adorn the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord and be placed in the most holiest place within the Temple of the Lord, the holy of holies.
      These cherubims dwell in the presence of the Lord in heaven and serve him and have received there glory from the God of heaven. Moses had seen them in the heavenly visions of the Lord. The Lord showed Moses and gave him the pattern and manner of the construction of the Ark of the Covenant, the tabernacle etc..
      I can go on and on and open up the scriptures further but this will suffice; now even of the engravings of pomegranates and the baptism fount which rested upon the twelve oxen representing the twelve tribes of Israel were all within the Temple. These were things which are in heaven and upon the earth and so forth.
      These Temples are the most holiest and sacred places on earth for all of our Heavenly Father's children to come and enter as guest according to our worthiness and faith in Jesus Christ his only Begotten Son. These Holy houses of the Lord are dedicated unto the Lord and has inscribed upon them that all can see which is " Holiness to the Lord
      The House of the Lord"😊😊😊.
      Just as the saints in the past were commanded to build a house unto the Lord, the Lord commands us in our day to do the same. It is a symbol of our faith, love and devotion to God our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
      If you have a chance to walk around the grounds of one of the temples, I'll invite you to do so and also to really and deeply contemplate and ponder and feel the sacredness of the House of the Lord from just being upon it's grounds and looking unto Jesus Christ as you do so.
      I know these temples are sacred and are truly the Lords house and are the most holiest places on earth, Jesus is the Christ our Savior and Redeemer of whom and in who's name we worship God our Heavenly Father.

    Congratulations from the son of Nimrod Alexander, the man who created the CIA in 1906 to prevent the Jews from extinction. The grandson of Malik Kambar, my father was the most successful film financier of movies as he invented the art of movies. The US failed my father by not recognizing that as the man who had created the CIA, he had to be given the All American Passport that recorded his place of birth as the United States of America, and because of that the US is still suffering the Wrath of Nimrod. However, congratulations on getting the Mormon Temple close by to Rome. If you want the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints not to be blown to bits by the Muslims, better advisers the leaders of your Church to insist that a Mosque of equal size to the Vatican Catholic Church to be built. The Mosque must not be lower than any Church of temple in Rome. Then the call to prayer in Arabic will be heard every Friday, and all Muslims will be able to live in equality with all other religions. In this way Rome shall be finally the Center for all Religions. Victor Nimrud Alexander the Peace Maker.
