When I was in Afghanistan I was attached to the Australian army and a couple of their guys brought their ball gloves and would play catch with us sometimes. Really solid ball players. They said they played since little league. I was surprised to hear baseball is at all popular in Australia with cricket being so big.
I think CPBL is a little bit better than ABL. Some CPBL players go to ABL when they are too old to play in CPBL. So I think CPBL->9 ABL->10 will be better.
Great article and great documentation on the number comparison. The only thing that I would change is the #3 and #2 Rankings. Even tho LMP have done Great in recent Caribbean series (solely because MLB Teams DO NOT allow DR prospects players to participate past the LIDOM National title, where in LMP they from a selection of said tournament best players) you have to Factor in the avg Speed of the pitchers in both the LMP and LIDOM. In LMP they are more offspeed type pitchers and rarely break 94-95 mph, contrary to LIDOM where is very common to have 95+ MPH pitchers and occasionally triple digits throwers. Other than that, GREAT VIDEO.
I love LMP but i agree with most here that it’s probably a bit to high at 2nd. 3rd or 4th would be more accurate imo. Still there’s good baseball overall in all these leagues mentioned
Here are just some current mlb players that have played in 2023 in LVBP (venezuela): ronald acuña jr, andres gimenez, salvador perez, freddy fermin, orlando arcia, oswaldo cabrera, oswald peraza, jose quijada, silvino bracho... these are just some of them, and then you have top prospects like jackson chourios and a bunch of former mlb players like Odubel Herrera. LVBP should be ranked higher now.
Further to the comment re the Australian League being only ten years old...Yes, true for the current League BUT there was an earlier version that operated 1989-1998. Many players from the earlier League also played in the MLB and number of coaching staff came here with afffiliations with MLB Clubs also set up. Numerous Aussies have played in NCAA, Minor Leagues, in Asia, Germany and Frramce.

Dude Lidom is the second/third best baseball league in the world... our prospects are top in MLB we have won more Caribbean Series than anyone and add a World Classic to that... And add to that our low budget to sports.
Do the leagues outside of Korea, and Japan provide a full time salary? Can players make a comfortable career in those leagues. I know it’s not millions but do they make money equal to middle class people, or higher? Great video thank you 👍
Not really fair to include Indy leagues. If he did, at least 3-4 other leagues wouldn’t have been included at all. You’d have to put the American Association and probably Frontier League too.
Bro, Lidom is definitely better than the Mexican Winter League, it should be second place. You just have to look at the performance, this year Lidom won the Caribbean Series undefeated. Man the game is good in DR, and it's very competitive.

I don't think that's the case, if you have time, you can Google the list of 2019 and 2018 CPBL foreign players. You will find a lot of them are actually former MLB players. A lot of them do play winter balls in the Latin America region during the CPBL off-season, so you can even get a direct comparison with their performance in the CPBL. As for why not that many CPBL export to MLB? It is more of a policy thing, unlike Japan and Korea, Taiwan have no system in place to prevent amateurs from signing with overseas organisation. But that's another story for another time. A few examples of CPBL direct export to MLB are Ni Fu-Te and Tsao Chin-Hui. Both of them jumped from CPBL to Triple-A then to MLB.

Hopefully Wang Bo- Rong will be the first CPBL's native player to make an impact in NPB.

While the LMP has players such as Efren Navarro and Daniel Nava, who both aren’t good enough to make it into the MLB either, they have players like Esteban Quiroz, Joey Meneses, and Luis Urias, who can definitely be good players in the MLB. Still I am a fan of both leagues, both have great hitting, great fans, and they are both very interesting.

I mean the MLB, if they are to expand internationally, they are to go to Mexico first before any other country, excluding Canada. That proves that Mexico as a whole is more advanced than the DR. You don’t see teams dying to go the the DR for a few games. The stadiums just aren’t ready for anything big like that

The fact that Panama wasn't added to the 2019 Caribbean Series until less than a week before it began and still won the title (even though they hadn't sent a team to the CS since 1960) seems to bear this out. For what it's worth, the LMP outdraws every league outside MLB in the Americas for average attendance. In terms of overall fan support, there's no argument.

CPBL provides a full time salary. Players are paid every month in a year despite they don't play for an entire year.
