A cool mechanic you can do with Handmaiden is while reviving someone, you can hold E to start reviving them, then press your ult to dash away from the horde, CW or boss putting pressure on you, while still reviving your teammate at the same time.
Handmaiden mains are so dedicated to their dash that they can revive people remotely. W

"Tanks" in this game fill their role a little differently than in many other games
Handmaiden is my most favourite class in the entire game specifically because of the "survivor" nieche it fills. When everyone is dead or downed, it's Handmaiden chads who save the day. Though I prefer to run with the two handed swords and skills that help with damage, so I suppose that's less of a tank gameplay, but it makes for a fun waveclearer.
Same reason I love her!
Shame most handmaidens I saw only use her skills only to run away from danger because she charges in alone

My preferred waveclear combo is heavy>light>light. don't have to deal with the awkward block canceling and if you fumble it with extra light attacks, the first heavy is always the sweep.
I never thought about that combo! I'll give it a try next time I play HM!
HM with extra revive speed in a trinket is fun as hell. The revive is so fast that I'm quite sure many people might not even realize that they were downed for a moment before they are up again.
So my HM trinkets are either Curse Resistance + Revive Speed or Revive Speed + Crit chance/Stamina recovery.
same here, but sometimes its confusing so they get recked shortly after the rezz because they didnt realize they are up again
Interesting how my favorite careers are polar opposites when it comes to clutching. Handmaiden can survive any situation as long as no special comes in to ruin the day. Bounty Hunter deletes any special and tough elite in his path, but is quickly overwhelmed by hordes out of control.

overall the whole video is the reason, i only hop on legend games as kruber and most of the time i see a handmaiden i see her eternities away from the rest of us

For hordes, I also like to use pushblock light light mixed in with heavy1. It's 2 stabs, light cleave and a heavy cleave while the mobs are still down thanks to the attack speed talent.
Also I prefer Moonfire Bow, even tho I absolutely love the javelin.
In clutch situations, when you have every enemy following you, you can dash and while invisible, unload fully charged Moonfire bow shots into packs and easily deal with them due to the splash burning damage.

I believe you should take revive speed instead of crit chance. It lowers it to a literal second to revive
You may as well take the javelin instead of long bow because it can actually pierce super armor meaning it can damage those pesky men in armor.

Edit: I have uncovered the source myself. Let me clarify my previous statement:

If you put power vs. skaven on your weapon and charm and use enhanced power your push staggers all elites out of all attacks except for easy to dodge chaos warrior overhead/uppercut and chaos berzerker jump attack. 90% block cost reduction is total overkill on a shield weapon that has inbuilt reduction anyway.
*and opportunist instead of swift slaying
Asrai alacrity is nuts, the strong attack, block, strong attack combo works well for hordes but I like to put 30% push/block angle on my spear and shield and do push attack, light attack, light attack for dealing with hordes. It works really well against hordes that have shields or armor mixed in because everything lighter than chaos warriors will be stunned and the bonus damage and attack speed shreds through the enemies. The same push attack, two light attacks with asrai alacrity lets you do quite good boss damage if you aim the stabs for headshots. Also I like to take moonbow just because you don't have to fear being out of ammo in clutch situations.

I'm not very good at combat in this game, when more than 3 rats approach me I don't know when to hit and when to block.
Luckily Handmaiden exists as a career so I can drop the responsibilities of a carry, take every support/utility skill in the tree and hold my shield up while I let big damage carries do the heavy lifting.
Handmaiden is perfect for people who want to heal revive and rescue runs.
Iron breaker is also great at doing this

Step 1. Abandon your team
Step 2. Run to the end, or cheese the objective to squeeze by with mobility.
Step 3. Pretend you are good at the game when your team logically calls you a piece of shit.
Repeat.
im so glad you said wraith walk one of my biggest gripes with people is when they say willow stance is superior to wraith walk when me as someone who mained IB and FK tank characters and saved hundreds of games knew the biggest issue was being boxed in, sure handmaidens dash does let her go through enemys but only every 20 seconds and a common response to that I get is just shove and swing, every clip you used of being boxed in shows why you cant just do that theres to much to deal with to try that. Also for trinket I actually recommend you use revive speed mostly because of how funny it is to see players stand up and die immediatly afterwards and type in chat "I did not expect to come back that fast" always gets a laugh. I also recommend moonbow over jag on handmaiden since you can quick switch fire and switch back.
I agree man, Wraith Walk is slept on. I've thought about revive speed before and how funny it would be, I'll give a try next go around!
it's really good for those situation's but it's a situation you shudn't be in 99.9% of the time if your doing your job so i just find it's a dead perk most of the time and would rather have some attack speed

great build man. only criticism i have is the swift slaying on spearNshield. i used to run it until i found opportunist. opportunist allows you to stagger lock zerkers and chaos warriors. really clutch when that pack of zerkers which could otherwise wipe the gang instead gets staggered until they are ready to be dealt with.

Agreed on this. I'm mainly a Waywatcher elf main but the Handmaiden has been really cool, if also more stressful, career that I'm starting to enjoy so far. The Opportunist trait simply sends even berserkers (the units that typically hit my team hard) staggering. Her talent that increases attack speed every block/push is all I really need for attack speed.
I love this career. Speed and fun :)

She almost becomes like a heavy support class. Very cool too see
I prefer opportunist + 60% block/push angle. With just +25% power you get a sweet breakpoint to staggerlock monks for days.
What primary would you recommend for someone without dlc? I just started playing not long ago and am pretty broke

Handmaiden is so much fun, spear and shield (and jav too I guess) is the only reason I play the elf. I love playing tankier classes.

Good video but i gotta say ur wrong at 1:18 as a iron breaker player playing in high weaves consider as one of the hardest trial of the game, you need that lill tanky dwarf if you wanna survive more than 30s.

I personally quite like the one-handed sword on Handmaiden. There's also sword and dagger, which is very much overtuned.

What weapon should I be using if I want to tank but refuse to get Winds of Magic for the spear and shield?
Little bit late of a reply but the elven spear is absolutely godly on handmaiden. It horde clears very well with a push attack light light combo and can be repeated very easily and consistently due to your stamina regen
I generally don't dislike tanks or tankyness in general, but I just don't think it really has a place in V2 as most damage can be avoided or mitigated one way or another and the ultimate goal is always, in any circumstance, to stay alive... which you accomplish by killing anything before it kills you. The game just doesn't have the proper mechanics to justify going tank over damage, as there is no clear aggro mechanic for tanks (it's usually the DDs that pull aggro from monsters) and enemies can cleave through you just like you can, so even standing infront doesn't work. Only DD and support roles make any sense and since there are basically no support end-of-game stats most people don't like playing it.

the only reason because handmaiden is useful is because having her in team always leads to wipe but she can clutch.

nah you missed a way to play handmaiden, mentally unstable tank maiden, slitting the jugular of everything in a 10 mile radius with the shield and spear. I roll into a game half way through, bleed an entire army of skaven and get more dmg and kills than the host xD
Conservative Shooter on the Javelin makes no sense, 5% ammo on crit is Like 0.1 ammo back

I hate kerillian so much, daaaaaaamn. She is just so unbalanced in every way. An ultimate melee hero with oneshots, survivability and waveclear, a fuckning nuker and annoying kill stealer as a more range option, and now - a fucking more that utility uber-soak tank (like IB), more then support CC tank (like Foot), but a mobility tank with perma-block, mobility and utility package. The fuck?... And also LaMbErFoOtS.
