Love your channel! I have the Rega Elex mk4 powering my Magnepan 1.7i speakers. It's the best amp pairing so far, and I have owned Kinki Studio XM1+/Denon A110/Vincent Audio SV700. I am a fan of the Rega sound. Wondering how different the Elicit Mk5 would sound and what the main deference would be apart from more power (which I feel I don't need).
Thank you! The Elicit mk5 brings more realism, resolution and exacting imaging IMO. Watch my review here: th-cam.com/video/KUvhQPsjKOc/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
There is no doubt in my mind that you’re the best TH-cam reviewer that I’ve seen. Love your reviewers and presentation style. You cover what we all want to hear
Thanks for the review, good to hear it still sounds great. I do think it's the wrong strategy for Rega. The all analogue market is very uncrowded; it's not a bad thing to be one of the few to offer that, rather than join the pack who already offer built in dacs. I personally prefer to source my own dac, so am put off paying for the one they put in. I'll be sticking with my unfashionable 'r' dinosaur.
I like the imprrovement of the presentation in your reviews, I am not saying that I did not like the older videos, they are great and reveal a lot of necesary information. Thank you for the review, and also for music I know thx to you
Hi Rohit. Thank for this Review. Excellent coverage of all areas including built in dac and mojo 2 upgrade option. Also appreciate the comparisons to other amps that gives a more realistic yardstick of the performance of the Elex MK4. I wholeheartedly agree with You on the Elex MK4 being a sweet deal.
Hi I have the mk 3 only listen to anologue is their any reason to buy a dac and what would you recommend I listen to streaming through Ifi zen blue v 2 Thanks
On the inexpensive side, brands like Topping and SMSL etc offer good value but I personally find them a tad analytical sounding. On the higher end, the Chord Mojo 2, Chord Qutest, Benchmark DAC2 or 3 are fantastic DACs.
Great video as always! Have you got any experience with the new Arcam Radia series? If yes which is the better amp in your opinion? Rega Elex mk4 or Arcam A15? (paired with Neat acoustics Petite Classic) Thank you!
Hey! Do you view the mk4 as a progress/amelioration of the elexR or just different ? (or maybe even not that good ?) Also for the dac if I understand you correctly you recommend the mojo to add a bit of warmth to the mk4 ? I did tested the mojo on my mk4 but I had the feeling the dac of the mk4 was in some way better than the mojo 2
Hi, superb review as always. How do you thing it could match with Wharfedale Lintons? Although tthey're superb and very engaging speakers, I'd like to match them with a little more dynamic or maybe a little more aired trebble presentation. Should I look somewhere else or this could be?
Hola tengo un espacio pequeño y tengo un rega elex r. Deseo adquirir el Rega aethos,¿ consideras que en mi espacio se notará la diferencia de sonido entre ambos?
Yes, but with some qualifications. The Aethos brings more to the table than power. It also brings amazing tonal vibrancy and “you are there” sensation. Extremely resolving of detail in an unforced easy manner. But it depends if your source and speakers are capable of reproducing that realism as well. I hope this helps.

Not for me whatsoever, I love my Aethos amplifier with nothing added, like my DAC etc separate, each to their own. I had the Elex 4 and wasn't fully happy with it, the Aethos on the other hand drives the speakers much better.

The ElexR is still a solid amplifier, no doubt about that in my mind!

My pleasure
I've already got an outboard DAC with the Elex 3, and I like what I hear. No doubt the version 4 sounds even better. I will say I like the new look.
Thanks for the review. How would you say this compares to the Topping PA7 Plus?

I feel the the Mk4 is an improvement over the R in terms of detail and dynamics. The mojo 2 does bring more of an analog flow to the music IMHO.

The Elex will bring dynamics for sure. Not entirely sure if you will get a treble lift. Perhaps the older Elicit may do that?!
Was the synergy better with the Rega speakers than the others?
Yes, there certainly was that synergy. But the Elex did the AEs, B&Ws, Vienna Acoustics, Harbeth, Vandersteens, etc full justice!!!
@@analogholic_reviewshi, and with wharfedale lintons? Good match? Thx

@@liamkcrs2879very welcome, and beautiful setup. I think the Aethos will improve sound quality at low volumes.

I wonder how well this amp performs at mid to low volume.
Does well at low levels. That’s how I mostly listen at night.
Arcam a25 vs Rega elex mk4????????????????????? Trying decide which one. Don't care about the phono stage.
I have not heard the A25 as yet
The Rega for me. I tested both.
