I've had my Pixel 3 XL for about a month now after being an iPhone user for about 7 years. I will never EVER switch back to iPhone. Apple only does minimal changes and you can't customize anything. Why pay more and more for something that hardly changes? Also not fair to compare the Pixel to the iPhone XS due to different price point. The Google Assistant is so much more advanced than Siri. I hardly used Siri but now I use my assistant constantly! ❤️ my Pixel 3 XL
I knew it would be great because I went to best buy AND I saw the xl pixel 3 and I was like, "i want this, oh my gosh, it feels and looks good" but I can't get because I have to buy it my own and I'm 15 years old. Never had a phone that could call or text
@Bryan Miller You can't definitely say that. May be the photo they showed in the keynote was shot in way darker situations than what Justine showed us in the video. Only way to tell is to wait and see.
The photos that Justine was saying where darker on the pixel were all day time shots not night time. For the night shot photo at the keynote Google would of taken that with a version of night shot that they have access to that we don't until later in the year. Regardless with out night shot the pixels night photos still looked better to me in this video
That is actually Night Sight which is not available yet, so maybe its not going to be absurd! They are google afterall, we can have pretty high expectations!

Well, it also have the on-body detection and area-unlock, just like all androids with Oreo, but this facial unlock isn't as secure or good as a hardware based one.

It wasn't faked, that was shot in the dark and without Night Sight, it's what an iPhone and a Pixel 2 or even a 3 for that matter will capture. Night Sight isn't available yet.

Pixel takes true to life photos whereas iPhone takes true to life video. Don't know why both can't excel at both photos and videos. iPhone photos look so oversaturated and over-processed in a bad way whereas the white balance in the Pixel's video is meh.
the Google pixel 3 and pixel 3 XL both have face recognition but the settings for facial recognition but they are hard to find in the settings app on the Google pixel 3 XL
@iJustine you can actually get a face recognition on the pixel. Just look for it on the settings, you can set it up. I was surprised that it works pretty well

You shouldn't have done that bcoz fokes at xda developers are working hard in turning pixel 2s to pixel 3s, and within a few weeks, we can download an apk which will give our devices the latest and gr8tst powers!!!!
I wish I would have waitied. I got an S9+ back in April. I jumped because it was on sale for 500$ It replaced my S6 and I had no idea finding a screen protector for a curved screen would be a pain in the arse! I refuse to use the phone until I get a screen protector that actually fits and stays on. Never buying a curved screen phone again.
It basically live streams the video at a certain time until it ends and then it gets automatically uploaded to the account, instead of just being uploaded.
The only differences i am seeing are a difference in lighting and contrast. Both devices have their faults. That can easily be fixed nicely in Adobe creative. If you know what you are doing.
Personally I dont think the cases had much to do with the pixel getting cracked and the iphone being a little more durable, Apple has incredible glass ( watch jerryrigeverythings video) and also a bunch of people have had issues with the pixels glass cracking (a bunch of other reviews had damaged pixels to lol)

i was turnedoff to the google pixel 3 bc i dont like the huge notch and i was mad that they didnt upgrade to at least 6 gb of RAM but honestly that feature where you can send a phone call to your assistant and identify things with the camera and google assistant might bring me back to the pixel

The pixels do have face recognition. - Go to settings and search up smart lock... Then you will see something that says "trusted face". That's the face ID. I have the pixel 5" and I love the face ID.
Night sight hasn't been released. That's why the difference in low light pictures is minimal. Maybe a quick video addressing low light pics when this feature is released?
Yes, Definitely A12 bionic 7nm chip does way better job than snapdragon 845 which is a 10nm chip. However, Pixel 3 fails with the ram management even with the OnePlus 6. 8GB Ram or 6GB Ram matters a lot in 2018...
Bigot Detector Google thinks they can run Android with minimum memory because Apple doesn't need a lot of Ram to be very snappy while still holding apps in memory. Look at any other flagship this year and notice the minimum amount is 6 and 8gb is becoming the norm. Google should know better than anyone Android likes to multi-task and that needs decent amount of Ram.
The night time picture comparison between Google's Pixel 3 and Apple's iPhone Xs is taken on a feature called "Night Shot" and it'll be released in an OTA update in the future
The photo from the Made by Google Event that you showed was actually shot at night using a feature called Night Sight that's being released soon with a software update so you wouldn't have been able to test that.

It actually HAS Facial recognition! It surprise me that just a few people know this, but the pixel has something called "trusted face" in Smart Lock settings, and it works SOO well, even in the dark.

That's why you use finger print unlock to make payment if the face one wasn't secure enough.
It was available in pixel 2xl but not in 3xl.

Night sight hasn't been released. That's why the difference in low light pictures is minimal. Maybe a quick video addressing low light pics when this feature is released?

Yes, Definitely A12 bionic 7nm chip does way better job than snapdragon 845 which is a 10nm chip. However, Pixel 3 fails with the ram management even with the OnePlus 6. 8GB Ram or 6GB Ram matters a lot in 2018...

Bigot Detector Google thinks they can run Android with minimum memory because Apple doesn't need a lot of Ram to be very snappy while still holding apps in memory. Look at any other flagship this year and notice the minimum amount is 6 and 8gb is becoming the norm. Google should know better than anyone Android likes to multi-task and that needs decent amount of Ram.

The photo from the Made by Google Event that you showed was actually shot at night using a feature called Night Sight that's being released soon with a software update so you wouldn't have been able to test that.

The night sight hasn't been enabled yet unless you have downloaded the prerelease, that is why the photos don't show as you see in their example. I have downloaded the prerelease and it definitely has similar results.

It actually HAS Facial recognition! It surprise me that just a few people know this, but the pixel has something called "trusted face" in Smart Lock settings, and it works SOO well, even in the dark.
It doesn't, I have a pixel XL and now pixel 3 xl, they have removed it now . Stupid, was as so handy, trusted face is not on the pixel 3 or pixel 3 xl
