We would have wood splitting parties .. my uncle lived in the middle of a national forest and would clear tagged trees .. family members would come, bring food and of course beer and we would split and stack wood .. those who came could take some of the fruits of our labor, but most if us just came for the food and fellowship!

Top man Josh, you hit the nail on the head!! Doing man stuff. That's why I go and climb trees and do some cutting, it's man stuff. And you can see some results, it gets you outside in the air and maybe gets you a beer or two. A firewood day would be awesome; keep the numbers manageable, maybe they could camp in the woods if they come a long way. Don't think I'll be able to make it though, a bit too far from the UK but maybe one year when we are over seeing the in-laws in Michigan.

Thanks for another great video always look forward to them. A little tip he might want to try next time though is to put the backfill blade down on that mini excavator, it will help to stabilize the machine and not make it bounce around in the cab so much when moving stuff around. 🙂

I wanted to make it to OWB open house (since he's only 3hr drive from my houes) but due to opening day for youth baseball and my oldest sons High School Prom... I couldn't make it.

A wood fair would be fun. The liability thing would be an issue. I worry about someone that hurts themselves but worry more about those that have the ability to hurt others. I am interested in participating but I would have to invest in all of the safety gear first. Been running a saw for 30 years but I just never used chaps. I never cut a tree for speed or to show off or without knowledge or concern of what may happen. if a tree doesn't look safe, we move it with our tractors until it is safe. so, I would have to use this as an excuse to chap up.

Adam, You and Doug should design and build a Doug-i-fied chainsaw attachment for your excavator, so that when picking up firewood poles you can grasp it near the location of the length of the section you want to fit the Japa and a hydraulically driven and actuated bar (copy the Japa design) comes down and saws it to length right over the pile or even on the rack to the Japa...then re-grasp and cut another section. Not thinking the super-pricey attachments that grapple, cut or do multi-function work, just saw to length hanging right off the side of the excavator stick. This would be great content for TH-cam and maybe some sponsors would help with the materials. Keep building your workforce (err friend network)...this friend collab stuff is awesome!
I'd come but I live in NC so that's out. But basically I have a chainsaw, love using it, but don't get that much chance to which is why I would come help. I'm always looking for opportunities to use it, but living in the city limits those opportunities. There's nothing like working hard outside doing something you love and then at the end of the day, relaxing and hanging out appreciating a full productive day. My guess is you'll have a ton of interest locally to come over.
The biggest thing is just to get everybody to sign in when they sign in. They're signing they're just closure waivor relieving you of all responsibil it and make sure that people work safe and use the proper safety equipment. And I have no date don't in my mind that you could have a great day. There and get a bunch of that firewood blocked and split. So it's ready to sound later this winner

I’m afraid I’ve cut enough firewood in the mountains of Colorado for my lifetime! And it’s a bit far to come over and cut real, hardwood timber. We just have pine here and a few odd aspens and miscellaneous small trees.

Now you hust need a firewood basket and sacks like we use in Norway. Then you can produse with your machine easy 3 qubic yards or 1000L sacks an hour.
