This reminds me of my rescue dog. Don't know what kind he is but is just 75 pounds of love. He has been a STRONG AND LOYAL PROTECTOR of all three of my grandkids. He even protects them from my leaning over and tickling. My granddaughter even introduced him to one of my wife's friends as her brother Nick.

He has everything a dog could want. He's loved, healthy, fed well, goes to a golf course and chases geese off the greens. Has a big backyard. Has another dog for companionship. Yet he's still a grumpy little guy.
When the pitbull breed came over from England, their main job was to be protective especially against infants and children. They were the "nanny breed". Helen Keller's pitbull saved Helen from danger when she got too close to the stream, other animals and helped find her when Helen strayed too far from the yard. Many years ago when the Shar Pei first came to the USA I had one. She was a perfect example of the breed and was a loving angel. People were frightened of her because they thought she was a deformed pit bull. Once a very little girl sat on her like the dog was a horse. Poor dog whined because she thought she was being abused. The dog shook her off, turned around and licked the girl's face as if to say "I want to play too, but not that game" . All dogs should be approached with caution.

My pits were very gentle. My children were raised with them. I had people tell I was in the wrong for having these dogs. When my twins were born. I was so tired I fell asleep holding one of the boys. My older pit came and sat under my arm with the baby on his head until I woke up. He was very protective of the boys. They could do anything to him, and he never hurt them.
Both of my parents got a German shepherd a few months before I was born, They named the dog Monty, my father who was in the police 🚔, could have taken Monty into the police as a police dog 🐕. Unfortunately I suffered epilepsy and dad decided to leave Monty at home 🏡 with me, Monty would not let anyone near me while I was in the pram except mum and dad. This is one more stereotype story for the breed that had the perfect ending and one more reason why we all need to look at this breed as individual dog and not lump each one into the bad apple category. I fully agree that there some bad apples in this breed but if you are real with yourself there are some in every breed big or small. The more we open ourselves to understand how they communicate with us the more we will see how they sense things we as humans so many times miss cause our senses aren’t as keen as there’s. Nothing physical about training. I don’t use force. Never. I use calm confident behavior and treats. She is a huge love bug. Trust and respect for the dog must be displayed in your training and you will succeed. The only dog I ever had that couldn’t be trained for anything was a toy poodle puppy. Max would not listen to me in puppy obedience training for nothing. He’d heel, sit, and the rest but not stay. The trainer said he would not be able to be trained. She said I could crush his spirit and fight against his need to be near me or just accept who he was. He’s the only dog I’ve ever had obedience trouble with. The only one I sought help with. He weighed 14 pounds. I ended up crate training him at home because he was bored and destructive. His mother, Bailey, an 8 pond toy poodle was an ideal dog. She could have been shown had I wanted. I didn’t. Max was just Max.

Best fog I ever had was an American Stafie he was the most placid beautiful natured dog.Good with little dog and cat.Great with children.loved him.

Pit bulls are not aggressive ...humans do make them aggressive...these animals have proved time and time again that they love and protect babies .....also keeping an older child from hitting them or whatever ...people just need to raise pits with love and when they have a child ...when paying attention to the baby ...pay attention with the pit too ...let it be a part of the babies life.....I will say this tho ...even tho German Shepard are good to train as police dogs but in my opinion Pitts would be the better dog to train for that type work because when humans do make them mean...they seem to be far more aggressive than Shepard's....but then a Chihuahua thinks it can whip the world too and that's before training...lol. Seriously Pitts of treated mean like my stupid nephew was with his pits ..they will chew you up and spit you out but then....is that not what humans do when someone is mean to them.....excuse the pun but it's a dog eat dog world out there ...this is including the humans....the most dangerous animal on earth....may e Ohio should bring back Pitts and ban the humans......

So, in the first minute of this AI story, I already see the BS. So, allegedly he rescued that dog “years before he met his wife.” But, the dog is supposed to be 3 and the baby is supposed to be six weeks old. So, there’s no way he had “years before” he met his wife.

I really dislike these stories. Especially the ones told by a third party that take liberties to embellish. Does the teller know all these facts in minute detail? I doubt it.
