    I never expected Mat to react to something that literally changed my perspective of life. OMORI is a beautiful and emotional game with amazing story, characters and twists included with with diff endings which can hve a drastic impact on the game. To anyone who has not played it i would rlly recommend it. Mat should play this game, won't spoil much, but the game has a lot of jumpscares(not too scary) and revolves around sensitive themes like S side and past trauma

And yet now her friend and childhood crush come back treating her as the villain, while the other churchgoers bad mouth her. She knows she won’t be welcome back here even though she’s only been just trying to do what she thought was right.

    What I like most about this whole video is that despite not having seen or played OMORI before, your reactions and analysis of each song is EXACTLY how it's meant to feel when you have the context of when these songs are played, and they were all composed accordingly to make you feel the way that you did. Your reactions to "It Means Everything" and "My Time" are perfect examples of that

      Thank you! I appreciate this comment a lot. Sometimes I get people annoyed about me listening to them out of context and I can't help but think how that's missing the point. I'll be there HOURS watching your gameplay because no matter how many times I re-watch the OMORI gameplay I never get tired of its story and peoples reactions. you should rlly listen to some songs from the Homestuck OST, some of the songs were by Toby Fox and they're absolute BANGERS. Homestuck is a webcomic that started in 2009 and lasted til 2016, and even then it's had different stories come out with similar characters for world building reasons.
    here are a few of my favorite tracks you could start with :D
    -Time On My Side
    -Derse Dreamers
    -Black
    -Oppa Toby Style
    -Sburban Jungle
    -Coolkid
    and if you'd like an animation to watch rex duodecim angelus was an animation by fans (the music and style is still very similar to Homestuck's usual animation style), or a song from the same people but a different story that being "[S] Ellsee: Dance out your frustration"
    the story is about some kids playing a game that takes them to another world, meeting "trolls" (grey people with horns and different colored blood) and needing to save the world from different villains, the big bad guys being Lord English, Jack Noir, and Calliborn. all making the others grow and learn new strats (with a bit of in-fighting to be fair but the trolls aren't the friendliest people most the time)
    that's all, thank you for reading this btw! i love Homestuck's music and i'd love to see you react to some stuff from it ^^

    SPOILERS!!!!
    I think By Your Side is so brilliant because they build it up so much, with it showing up every time there is a scripted event with Mari, like finding another one of her picnics, and then just before Black Space when you have to see her coffin, By Your Side is playing softly. Then they hit the pay off of By Your Side playing as you put all of the photos of Mari back in the photo album. When that scene started, I nearly fell apart. When I did fall apart was when I had a picnic with Mari at the graveyard and By Your Side played slow and soft in the background. It’s so simple, but it works so well.

    • @emesbee
      @emesbee ปีที่แล้ว +2

      100% agree, By Your Side was the first piece of music in the game that really grabbed my attention. The first time you hear it is when you see Mari at the playground in headspace, and so we always associate the track with her from that point forward. For me, I immediately thought it carried so much melancholy, even though I had yet to find out the events of the game's story as to exactly why there was so much sadness surrounding Mari. It always made me emotional hearing it as the game continued on, especially because whenever you hear it, you always remember her and the safety of her presence. The scene at the cemetery when you sit and have a picnic next to her grave with Aubrey, Hero, and Kel all back together again broke me down into tears, having the track play at yet another picnic just like the rest of the game but not having the one key character who we associate it with present, but instead having it play next to her grave whilst everybody else is sitting on the blanket as usual was so incredibly moving and so incredibly unfair on Omocat's part for making us cry like that 😢🤧
