    I own a lot of more expensive trucks, but I really dig my atlas! I modified it a ton, steering servo, steering geometry, shocks fusion 1200 and a homemade sway bar. And massive JConcepts tractor tires. What a fun truck!

      That’s awesome and I’m the same way I have a bunch of really expensive ones but this thing is so much cooler. What shocks did you end up going with?

    • @mikerainey3847
      @mikerainey3847 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @WingnutsRC I used some KYX 85mm shocks. There is plenty of shock for the tall fling kings.

    The night crawler was my first crawler 👍

      The original nightcrawler is an absolute classic. I need to get some videos of that. No one seems to have them on here.

    Did slt3 & 1080 on mine works great. No more noise from esc and runs smooth. Grease up the differentials, trsnfer case and transmission. They are dry from factory.

      Great information to know I haven’t gotten around to checking that so I guess that’s on my list to do this week lol

    Once you drop the 1080 ESC in there is makes a world of a difference. Made me very happy with the truck.

    These trucks look like good trail rigs & for the price & being 1:10 scale is pretty good.

    • @WingnutsRC
      @WingnutsRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely. With a few modifications and an upgraded ESC I think this would do awesome even has a competition rig which is what I plan to do with it this summer.

    Nice review. Looks like a nice capable truck. New ESC will bring it to life for sure. L8TR..

    The Altas is still my favorite crawler. I went with the HobbyWing Fusion SE 1200, some steel beadlocks and some real predator hyrax tires. it performs better than my SCX10.3.
    i will say that gearbox somewhat of a pain. its bolted to the motor, and I stripped the bolts taking it off and ended up having to order a new one. So be careful, the gearbox screws are made of cheese.
    My Atlas has survived some absolutely gnarly falls

      Thank you for the advice on the transmission. That will probably save me a big headache lol I absolutely love this thing the styling of it and the design let alone the awesome budget base price. This thing definitely is at the top of my list. I think I’m gonna go for more of an old-school look with the wheels and tires just because I’ve always had a soft spot for the power wagon growing up so I would like it to somewhat resemble those ones. How is the fusion SE working for you? I don’t know much about it. I’ll be honest when it comes to brushless stuff. I’m still learning and have a lot to learn. Lol I’m old-school.

      @@WingnutsRC The Fusion SE has been incredible. It has FOC and is super smooth and super slow low range as well. And its. 2 in 1 for $69 which is a steal. Luckily the Atlas has a separate receiver so im still using the stock transmitter too

    I love the 1080 but the isd70 is much cheaper and better. But I would put the FusionSE in it for $70

    I have this same truck. Shocks are junk, tires are junk, and esc is junk. Change these few simple things and it makes it much better.

    • @WingnutsRC
      @WingnutsRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. The shocks aren’t the greatest, but for the price I won’t complain the tires. I actually don’t mind I just don’t like the way the wheels look and the ESC is definitely going to be the first thing to be changed I believe lol.

    • @JP-qq2kn
      @JP-qq2kn ปีที่แล้ว

      @WingnutsRC Yeah, I went with a fusion se 1200kv brushless setup, 90mm desert lizard shocks, upgraded steering servo, and steel wheels with way better tires. Im now in the process of making a custom axle servo mount to get rid of that horrible panhard bar setup. When I bought mine, they were giving away a free fms magnum truck with it. So after selling the magnum, I think I paid $180 CAD for the Atlas 4x4. It's definitely worth it at that price.

    Hey Wingnut, does your wife RC too. I started to watch a video of yours but I can’t find it. It started out with your wife a little upset with you for buying another RC. I didn’t have time to watch it. It made me think we might be married to the same person. Hahaha my wife gets all crazy in the head. Can you help me out on which video it was.

    • @WingnutsRC

      Yes, she gets into it occasionally she’s not much for modifying them or being addicted to them like I am lol but she joins me on a lot of RC adventures in the woods. Your best bet is to get her her own. Lol.
