- In this video I share some clips, which were originally taken as slides in 1948 by my uncle. After receiving the slides I carefully processed them so they could be shared here digitally. This is what you are seeing here in this series, along with a part 1, 2, & 3 of Memories (which can be found in my playlist). This group of men (family & friends), got together and built this hunting camp in the foothills of Maine in 1948. It was a labor of love, and a place enjoyed by family for generations. While all who were in these clips are gone, their memory lives on. I hope you enjoy this short video, and if you wish to see Part 1, 2, and 3, please see the links below. If you click on the links, it will bring you there. Thank you so much for stopping by. God Bless!

Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting!
What a great share Kat this is the past where i am stuck on deer hunting. The wonderful deer camps of the great north east . The ones i have stayed in are all gone . the land as bought by the federal goverment and they have been removed.
Hi Howard, yes I don’t think you will find many of these around anymore. Not like this. I’m sorry the ones you knew of are gone. I’m thankful that a relative gave me all the slides. It’s been a process to digitize them, but so worth it, and I still have all the original slides just as I received them. They were better times I think. Thank you for stopping by!
Very cool Kat love the old pictures
Thanks so much! Thank you for stopping by!
So neat to see pics of them building their cabin. The old timers used to be so ingenuitive. My pap built their own home, too. Lovely video. God bless you, Kat, and have a beautiful week.😊🧡🍁🍂
So much money was saved by doing it yourselves. Growing up I loved visiting the camp in the woods with the family 🙂 Thanks so much for stopping by! Blessings to you and the family! ♥️🌻🍂
I don’t even know these people but the stories I bet they had. Thanks for sharing this !!!!

Thats pretty awesome to have so many pictures and film memories. We dont have much from our family history.
Thank you. Back then, people didn’t take pictures like they do now. So, I’m very thankful my uncle took these pictures all those years ago, and also thankful that they were given to me to share. Now all the people in these videos are gone. I thank you so much for stopping by!

Loved the pipes! My Pepere used to smoke one, it was usually filled with something sweet smelling…maybe cherry….
Oh yes, cherry has a wonderful sweet smell. My father always smoked Half & Half. To this day if I ever get a whiff of it, I think of my dad.
That’s so awesome sister! Thanks for sharing! I hope you have a wonderful and blessed day! ❤️🙏🏻
Thank you brother, I sure appreciate you stopping by. Have a blessed week!

Hello Kat in the Fall 😁
Hi Tony! 🍂🌻🙂
Very nice video Kat I can still see a few remnants of old cabins and camps on the way up to my own that are in very rough shape the stories they must hold in the past I wonder I was at my camp last week for the whole week I went to fryeburg fair twice lol had a great time take care Kat
Hi! Yes, if those old camp walls could talk! 🙂 I think that’s great you’ve been up there for a whole week. I hope you got plenty of rest & relaxation. We would love to of gone to the fair but the lines to get in are so long. We’ve not been in many years now. It sounds like you had a good time though! Thanks for stopping by & watching!
Nice
Thank you Ark! Blessings to you and the family!
Nice job on that place, my dad and my uncle built the house i grew up in for 14,000 $ Now its listed for 400,000. Crazy😊
Oh my words, isn’t it crazy how the price goes up like that? That’s awesome that your dad and uncle built the house you grew up in. I wonder if it’s still standing. Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate it! 🙂
Yes its still there, my step mom passed 2 years ago and now it's in probate to sell eventually.
@@elflordsjourneys I’m glad it’s still there but I wish probate wouldn’t last so long.
Gosh Sister, didn’t even know you had been posting 😢 no notifications at all 🤷🏼♀️
Boy was this heart warming to watch 🥰 Gosh how I wish we could go back to these periods in time. ❤️🙏🏻🤟🏻 Love This 😍❤️
I’m sorry you didn’t get the notifications. TH-cam can be so frustrating sometimes 😕 Yes, this was a part of the series I did, back when the men in the family used to go to the hunting camp they built, back in the late 1940’s, 50’s, & 60’s. Thanks so much for watching sister, and God Bless ♥️
Kat, this was great, love the photos. Is the Hunt Camp still in the family.
Thank you Daniel! It has new members in it now, and I’m not sure who all of them are. I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving! Thanks for stopping by.
Hi Kat! Is the cabin still in the family? They did a great job! Hope you're doing well.
Hi Deb, thanks! There are new members there now, so I don’t know much about it, but the old camp is still there and being used. Thanks for stopping by!
Very nice Kat! Are you still able to use it?
Thank you, no. But the camp is still standing and it is used by some new members I think.
♥️🤗
Hi Kat In The North, I am 62 and my wife and I are thinking of retiring in Maine. Do you have a way to private message you? Thanks Joe Quinn.
Hi Joe, what part of Maine are you thinking of moving to?
