Just a few fun facts… 1. Orange, CT was named for William of Oranje and was settled in 1822 (incorporated 1923). 2. Autographer John Ratzenberger (‘Cheers’ fame) was born & raised in neighboring Bridgeport CT. 3. The PEZ motorcycle was created by Orange County Choppers out of California. 4. Yes, it often rains A LOT here in CT, especially Fun video, Jake! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
i learned a bit ago, that when you are reloading your pez dispenser, you just remove the colorful wrapper and put the foil wrapped candy in the bottom, then it pushes the wrapper off and you eat the candy inside! :D
I think you were born 25 years to late. You'd get more references to older pop culture things, but that's where the audience comes in handy. We know Little Orphan Annie was in the decades collection. You good just the way you are.
12:57 Awwww Jimmy Fallon! LOL I could hear the disappointment in your voice. I agree with you. I also would have reacted the same with the guy before Fallon, Dr. Phil.
FYI. eBay was started as a site to sell Pez. eBay started in 1995 as an idea for collectors to buy and sell Pez dispensers. Founder Pierre Omidyar began eBay as a favor to his girlfriend.
The girl you didn't recognize was Little Orphan Annie. The Big Blue dog was Huckleberry Hound. I don't know about other States, but those red dispenser machines were a fixture at K-Marts and Montgomery Ward's.
I LOVE PEZ DISPENSERS! 1) Eating them one by one discourages eating too much candy/sugar 2) The dispensers kept the candy pieces organized and fresher then just in the wrappers 3) The dispensers are a cool, cheap way to start a collection (if collecting things is YOUR thing)! :D I love 'em!
Brings back some memories. They weren't called Pez where i live, but really can't remember what it was called. A very fun and nice museum. Makes you wonder how many different dispensers they have and how many more will be issued in the future. Maybe, in some near future, they bring out a traveller series with one rare but very much loved item: The Carpetbagger. Wouldn't that be nice!
I actually went to the PEZ Visitor’s Center back in 2012. I still have the official PEZ Visitor’s Center product in my room. Glad you’re finally visiting there Jake!
Looks like they have many new displays since I visited over 10 years ago. The video should have covered the manufacturing process, which is on display for your edification. They likely still have the Buy a Bucket option in the gift shop, where you can dispense as much of any flavor you wish into a small bucket for a fixed price. Also T shirts and such are available. BTW, I still eat PEZ, and since childhood resorted to not using the dispenser (too difficult to load).
Did the same thing...started using the dispenser and soon realized it was a lot more satisfying to unwrap the entire bloody package of PEZ and stuff it in my mouth!
Asterix the Gaul is a French cartoon/comic character that was quite popular in Europe, they made a live action movie too but it didn't do all that well. In the UK it was always a mixed bag for Pez, I had but have long lost a Batman one and had briefly but sold a modern Cap America but you could never get the cool designs and the only flavours were ones like that sickly cola in the UK, even now I'd love a monster one or a truck filled with peppermint Pez.
Back in 2019 my husband and I went to Connecticut for my 45th high school reunion. On our way to N H we stopped there and loved it. I grew up in Connecticut and never knew that Pez was there.
I had two PEZ dispensers late 70s, early 80s, Pluto and a rabbit. Only recently parted with them. I had no idea you can still get the sweets, it's decades since I've seen them (UK). Wonderful museum 😊
When i was a kid I use to use the dispenser cause ur kid.lol.when I starting to grow up I just ate them right out of the package, love pez and another favorite when I was a kid is razzles,I still eat them.
The bottom. The bottom loads the pez. Most people don't know this. You shove the whole thing with the wrapper still on at the bottom, then you pull the wrapper out.
Happy Thanksgiving. I Recomend Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix Arizona . Also Called MIM Its one of the largest musical instrument collections with instruments from all over the world. Some one of a kind. It also has many things related to many famous musicians.
NICE! I passed this place and wanted to stop and film but was driving my enormous RV and was on a long drive that day lol, it's so much more difficult to pull over when you're driving a giant 50 foot boat!!
The first pez you asked about, next to Yosemite Sam. The guy is from Meet The Robinsons, as an adult they call him Bowler Hat guy, but he's also known as Goob. 😁 Love your videos!!! Hope you have a great day!
He appears to be stolen from the 60s cartoon by Jay Ward, called "Dudley Do-Right." The character's in question was Snidley Whiplash, throw a top hat on bowler hat man, and it's Snidely!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING Jacob to you and your family. I still have Pez dispensers still in the original packages.( Don't think I'd eat them now...lol) This was such an awesome place. I love the history of it. Thank you. Stay safe. Stay blessed..
OMG MICHAEL VOLK'S PEZ! Michael is a very close friend of ours and I was SO surprised to see his PEZ in the Video, the same pez I have seen countless of times sitting on our table while on pez conventions :') I love him
I sometimes would stack the different flavors together about three pieces high, I'd have me kinda a Pez sandwich. Of course I used to do the same thing with Smarties. And Asterix is a character from a French comic book series called "Asterix le Gauleux" or "Asterix the Gaul" set in Ancient France during the time of Roman occupation.
I had Pez when I was really, really, really young. I think it was when I went with A.C.Moore with my grandmother when we rehabbed my mom's dollhouse when I was like 6. It started falling apart again in the 2010's and want to give it a complete overhaul, including maybe a repaint someday.
The evil looking guy you were asking about around 2:45 is the world famous Michael “Goob” Yagoobian from the animated film Meet the Robinsons! Great movie, I’d recommend watching it if you haven’t seen it
I love this. My dad started collecting pez many many years back. When he passed away i inherited all his pez. i have over 300 currently. my favorite of my collection is a 1960s die cut bozo the clown.
So the original PEZ dispenser was designed to mimic a lighter, in order to help those trying to quit smoking. Interesting, and I can see this purpose now.
Seems like they should have had an entire exhibit dedicated to the Seinfeld PEZ dispenser episode. Did they even mention it? I’m sure that episode sold millions of Tweety Bird PEZ dispensers for them.
That's a cool little museum they have there and anytime a place has a worlds largest of something, it's worth the trip. I just got back from seeing the worlds larges roll of toilet paper.
Apparently you’re supposed to pull it out as normal, put the wrapped sweets in the bottom and then slam it down. It’s supposed to push the wrapper off apparently. Never tried but saw it on TikTok.
You should visit Stew Leonard's which is a grocery store chain in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey. It's the world's largest dairy store with animatronics
I still own the glow in the dark skeleton with the black skull above the witch collection. Also have a Chewbacca from late 90s that I didn’t see included in their collection.
Love this place! Pez is cool. I love all the different characters they have there. I like the Nintendo and the Toy Story ones. Do they have a Link and Zelda Pez? That would be cool if there was. The World’s Largest Pez is awesome. Glad you got one for the bunker! Well, thanks for sharing! Have a great day!
Fun fact: The Lebron dispenser will fail to actually dispense a Pez when you try... Instead the Lebron part will fall off of the rest of the dispenser and begin to cry, claiming you fouled him.
I don't know why these are so darned charming, but I suddenly remembered the Lord of the Rings set I couldn't resist adding to my geek display shelves. Thank you for now making me wonder why I don't have Star Trek and Harry Potter! I wonder if there is a Nightmare Before Christmas, too...

The one you didn't know, in the 80's display is Little Orphan Annie. ♥️
I live right down the street from there and I have never been there thanks for the tour.
i learned a bit ago, that when you are reloading your pez dispenser, you just remove the colorful wrapper and put the foil wrapped candy in the bottom, then it pushes the wrapper off and you eat the candy inside! :D
I'm 56 and still love pez! Really enjoyed your video!

We also recognized Huckleberry Hound! EDIT: at 12:37
@@DeaconG1959 i saw that too.
Pez was spot on on the 50s-60s gun dispensers. Cowboys and Indians was huge for kids to play outside. Guess the Lone Ranger was a huge influence.
Holy cow any place that is World’s Largest, totally a place we want to visit!! My daughter loves PEZ. Need to go here soon. Just love your channel.
I loaded it it first like you,and just popped the Pez in my pie hole. The Pez Dispenser, great Seinfeld episode! That museum is so cool!
12:57 Awwww Jimmy Fallon! LOL I could hear the disappointment in your voice. I agree with you. I also would have reacted the same with the guy before Fallon, Dr. Phil.
Very cool Jacob . happy early thanksgiving 🦃
Finnaly you have went to a Pez Museum! I knew there was one some where, it’s just I didn’t know where but wow!
FYI. eBay was started as a site to sell Pez. eBay started in 1995 as an idea for collectors to buy and sell Pez dispensers. Founder Pierre Omidyar began eBay as a favor to his girlfriend.
Though a cool story, it was made up by their PR manager years after the site was started to make the site's beginning more newsworthy.
I like eating them out of out the dispenser and it is more fun. I'm 65 and still eat Pez.
Really cool when you go places like this. I never knew this existed. The SPAM one you went to a while ago was cool too.
12:38 is Huckleberry Hound. I recall the PEZ dispenser vending machine.
Now you can order personalized 3D printed PEZ heads with your own head. The future has finally arrived.
Link?

You can just put the pez pack under it and that works
If you happen to have an older Pez without feet, I was told it's quite collectible. good job on the video.
You put out another first for us! Never would have suspected this place existed!
I haven’t wanted pez in YEARS but now I’m desperately craving some. So strange…
Did the same thing...started using the dispenser and soon realized it was a lot more satisfying to unwrap the entire bloody package of PEZ and stuff it in my mouth!
Flashback for sure, loved cherry pez
My son has a collection of over 500 pez dispensers started collecting at 3 yrs old and he does eat candy from the dispenser

The Bowler Hat Guy is a villain from the Disney movie Meet the Robinsons. I eat my Pez out of the wrapper, no time for the dispenser! 😄

I collect Pez and it's a goal one day to visit the Pez museum. I'm so happy you visited here.

Asterix is a French comic. They have there own theme park north of Disneyland Paris. The park's inverted coaster looks like Montu for many reasons.
