As someone who has dealt with depression and seen it in others where their home was pretty bad. Just someone coming in and giving them a fresh start by cleaning is a huge help. It's one less reminder of how much they haven't done and it's one huge step forward in progress.
YES! And for someone to come in and help, being completely unjudgemental is much needed! I struggle with depression and anxiety. I'm incredibly judgemental of myself. The last thing someone in this situation needs is someone coming in and placing judgement on them.
I really love that you use a garden sprayer the way you do, instead of those silly little pump spray bottles that make your hands get tired. What an ingenious way to clean!
I started out watching “Living with Cambriea”. She was doing a hoarder series at the time. Since that time her channel has exploded. Hang in there girl, I see you going in that same direction.
Wow! I just binge-watched this series. You are a saint. What an act of loving service! These dudes are so blessed to have you in their lives. I am sure everyone has piped in with comments on how to encourage that things stay nice and tidy. Here's my two cents for the people living there: More wastebaskets: In the bedroom, bathroom, living room, closet, etc. Getting the cats fixed so they no longer spray. Setting up a nice patio area to encourage outdoor smoking. Smoking indoors will kill those cats! Moving the litter box out of the bedroom, and into the closet by the front door, with a cut-out cat door for access. Moving the cat food into the kitchen. Also, please keep creating! Paint more, play more music, and invite a guest over for drinks, or dessert!
I’ve never seen anyone wash a ceiling before! Definitely impressed with your cleaning skills and amount of energy! Glad they have you to help them get back on track. The literal best thing we can learn to do is ask for help. It’s life changing!
You can buy inexpensive plexiglass in the hardware store for a new shelf to the refrigerator, I did that. In some hardware stores, they will saw it for you to the desired dimensions or you can saw it yourself with a jigsaw.

I am I was a hording show I had so much loss in my life from rape to losing my 18 yr old son to suicide and my brother being murdered I stopped living! Stopped caring and stoped cleaning I wanted to not be here anymore! Then one day I was sitting on a bench and a old lady came up to me and prayed for me I looked around didn't see anyone! I was going to go into the river to end my pain! God had other plans I felt this peace swoop over me and I felt better decided to go home and try I managed after 6 months to get my life back on track ! I cleaned decluttered moved toxic people out even family and lost over 80 lbs became healthy mentally physically and emotionally 🙏 you are an inspiration to others thank you 💕 keep going others need you! 🙏❤️ God bless you love from Canada ❤️ now work with homeless people and realized this was gods plan 🙏
You have done an amazing job for these people. $ My husband and I used to clean evicted homes and they were really, really bad. He handled the bathrooms and fridges. It was hard for me to wrap my head around how people could be okay with living in filth. And also disregard the rental property. The mold and bacteria from everything can really affect the way people think and feel. It keeps them from cleaning or picking up when they are depressed. Keep the videos coming!

Just knowing things you don't think about often have been cleaned gives a huge sense of positivity. It is knowing someone could come into your house for the first time and give and after close scrutiny would realize your place is detailed in the clean department. If anyone else moves into an apt with lights like that-put the degreaser on outside the house, leave to sit out there, and then bring them in to rinse off in the tub with the fan on to help with the degreaser. Rinse the tub and don't let the product sit on there to avoid any damage. I have asthma and found that works well when cleaning with strong chemicals. Gabbi you are amazing.
I agree with you on helping someone with depression - you do your part, they do their part, the healthcare provider comes along side and add their expertise and progress starts 🌻
To get those light covers clean, put them in a trash bag and spray them really well with oven cleaner. Twist the bag close and leave them in the bag over night if you can and they will be so clean. I'm a New subscriber

For sticky items in freezer just pour a couple of hot water teaspoons to soak for about five minutes then you will not have to scrub so hard. Vinegar is great for cleaning the refrigerator!☺️☺️☺️☺️🙂🙂😁😁😁😊😊😊

OK, I've lived this cat pee nightmare myself, and I'm going to go out on a limb and say the cleaning isn't going to fix their spraying. They are MAD. Our vet said the bringing in of new, unmarked objects is, in itself, a trigger for spraying once cats are acclimated to spraying to indicate displeasure. Since new smells are always coming in on goods, on shoes, they will likely keep spraying at front door, at least. Pooping outside pan can be pan is too dirty, or another kind of territory and angry marking. Those cats are probably fairly young, and generally left alone or ignored. Also, it's SUPER hard to combine female cats are are not littermates - this was also a trigger for my female beginning to spray.
I thought spaying and neutering stopped the spraying ? Also if he’s not keeping their litter box cleaned out they’re going to be pissing all over the place . They’re easy to care for , keep them a clean litter box , and food and water . Tick and flea prevention. Sometimes a cat isn’t a good companion If the depressed person won’t take care of it and then causing more problems . An unhappy cat can wreck havoc 🛑
If they already spray, the neutered animal will continue the habit. Spaying and neutering ahead of time can help prevent the behaviour though. We had 2 cats that were neutered sprayers.

I've noticed that unless the female is under stress or in an abusive home where showing dominance is a nessesity the spraying from females is a learned behaviour from their male counterparts. There may be exceptions but as long as she isn't already spraying, you have a loving home, and she has a box that's kept clean nearby, she will display normal female patterns of not spraying. Congratulations on the new addition to your home! Are you fostering or keeping the Mama?

As a person who suffers from PTSD, anxiety, depression and unable to leave the house. I have finally found cleaning videos to motivate me. Everyone says my home is immaculate but I can only see how I can improve. My support people ask me when I’ll be satisfied with my home. The answer is I don’t know. Hopefully some inspiration from your videos (which I am binge watching today) will make me see that not everything has to be perfect, because there is no such thing as perfect. Thank you 😊

I have found giving them small assignments builds their confidence. For example, they work with me on small sections of their house at a time. A homework assignment maybe to only fill this garbage ball with trash in one room. Or just look for and throw out expired products from the kitchen or bathroom. Keep up the good work.

I’ve dealt with severe depression most of my life but I’m also an ocd cleaner which is good/bad because I use it for me to heal and others as well who may feel overwhelmed and may handle depression a bit differently but we understand each other and can talk through our good and bad times.
Friendly tips for degreasing/cleaning-use these common and inexpensive products: scouring pads (wet pad, scrub and let sit a few minutes); Dawn dish detergent or the heavy duty spray; ajax or any scouring powder.
Cleaning that front door was an extreme transformation for me!!! I was waiting for you to scrub all of that grime away. Does the front of the door look as bad? Is it possible for the shoe rack in the dining room to be moved into the owner's bedroom? Or the entryway closest? Keep up the AMAZING work👏
Super late to the party and someone probably said so already but there's over 1,000 comments...for some brands of fridges you can order those inserts if they break. Replacing something small like that and making an appliance functional again always cheers me up! Love your channel, new fan! :)
Hopefully the kitties will start using the litter pans. Placing two or three litter boxes throughout the apartment may help the situation. Since cats are territorial, placing two litter boxes next to each other will be perceived as one large litter box by the cats instead of two separate boxes (as shown in the bedroom in one of the videos). Also, the littler boxes need to be cleaned out at least once a day. If they take this suggestion and it doesn't help, the cats may have bladder infections (one of the biggest reasons cats pee outside of the litter box). They may want to take the cats to a vet to get them checked out. Final suggestion - the cats may be reacting to the cigarette smoke in the house (cats have an extremely strong sense of smell). Perhaps if the homeowners went out on the patio to smoke, it may also help the cats to calm down. Love your kindness in helping all the members of the family have a clean, healthy space to live in! 🙂
I agree with the two litter boxes. I had two cats and one would always spray. Nicked that one in the bud right away lol. There’s a spray u can spray on all the places the keep going to to spray to deter them from spraying. Love my kitties but if they kept that up they would have to go!
On the built up grease, I found that spraying it down with Mr Clean and letting it sit a while took the grease off. Just wiped right off. I cleaned an apartment that it had never been cleaned (at least it didn’t look like it) down the sides of the stove and fridge. And those light covers become yellowed with age. Also brittle.

My husband and I did the same thing with our dishes. We only have out the max of what we would use in a day and the rest are packed away in case of company. It works wonderfully!!!
I would use dawn dish liquid as the degreaser for cleaning the light panels, kitchen surfaces, etc. Either squirt directly onto surface or make mixture of dawn/water in spray bottle.

Great and satisfying cleaning job! Wish you could have got behind the room mates door. I will try not to repeat that the litter boxes can go inside large boxes with a U shaped door cut out. The box in a box stops flying litter and looking at poops although they need to be scooped daily or kitty won't use the dirty box. They are clean animals and don't like stepping in their own poop or clumps of pee. That should be on the top of any list. At least every other day!

Well put. I struggled for years with episodes of depression. My house wasn't this bad. However my kitchen and bathroom were pretty disgusting.
I deal with it myself and am coming out of an episode at the moment and wish I had help but I'll get it in time ☺️

We have a commercial cleaning company, we did clean outs for awhile. I still can't wrap my head around how some people live.

Our vet said the bringing in of new, unmarked objects is, in itself, a trigger for spraying once cats are acclimated to spraying to indicate displeasure. Since new smells are always coming in on goods, on shoes, they will likely keep spraying at front door, at least. Pooping outside pan can be pan is too dirty, or another kind of territory and angry marking. Those cats are probably fairly young, and generally left alone or ignored. Also, it's SUPER hard to combine female cats are are not littermates - this was also a trigger for my female beginning to spray.
I thought spaying and neutering stopped the spraying ? Also if he’s not keeping their litter box cleaned out they’re going to be pissing all over the place . They’re easy to care for , keep them a clean litter box , and food and water . Tick and flea prevention. Sometimes a cat isn’t a good companion If the depressed person won’t take care of it and then causing more problems . An unhappy cat can wreck havoc 🛑

If they already spray, the neutered animal will continue the habit. Spaying and neutering ahead of time can help prevent the behaviour though. We had 2 cats that were neutered sprayers.
@@Mamabear1138 do females spray ? I have a cat that was dumped in my driveway pregnant. We had her spayed right after she Had her babies and so far Idk if she’s ever sprayed because I’ve never found any place ? Now I’m worried 😟
@@lisaunderwood8022 It is rare that females spray. I've noticed that unless the female is under stress or in an abusive home where showing dominance is a nessesity the spraying from females is a learned behaviour from their male counterparts.
There may be exceptions but as long as she isn't already spraying, you have a loving home, and she has a box that's kept clean nearby, she will display normal female patterns of not spraying. Congratulations on the new addition to your home! Are you fostering or keeping the Mama?

As a person who suffers from PTSD, anxiety, depression and unable to leave the house. I have finally found cleaning videos to motivate me. Everyone says my home is immaculate but I can only see how I can improve. My support people ask me when I’ll be satisfied with my home. The answer is I don’t know. Hopefully some inspiration from your videos (which I am binge watching today) will make me see that not everything has to be perfect, because there is no such thing as perfect. Thank you 😊

$$$ Enjoy watching your videos. Congrats on your channel's success. My experience with working with people with these issues through my church has involved some success. I have found giving them small assignments builds their confidence. For example, they work with me on small sections of their house at a time. A homework assignment maybe to only fill this garbage ball with trash in one room. Or just look for and throw out expired products from the kitchen or bathroom. Keep up the good work.
$ You are a blessing to these people. When people deal with depression/anxiety and are no longer keeping up with everyday things they need counseling to help get them out of this mindset and to feel better about themselves.

I’ve dealt with severe depression most of my life but I’m also an ocd cleaner which is good/bad because I use it for me to heal and others as well who may feel overwhelmed and may handle depression a bit differently but we understand each other and can talk through our good and bad times.

Friendly tips for degreasing/cleaning-use these common and inexpensive products: scouring pads (wet pad, scrub and let sit a few minutes); Dawn dish detergent or the heavy duty spray; ajax or any scouring powder.
Cleaning that front door was an extreme transformation for me!!! I was waiting for you to scrub all of that grime away. Does the front of the door look as bad?
Is it possible for the shoe rack in the dining room to be moved into the owner's bedroom? Or the entryway closest?

Good job. It does help to have someone lend a hand and show that they care.
Hopefully the kitties will start using the litter pans. Placing two or three litter boxes throughout the apartment may help the situation. Since cats are territorial, placing two litter boxes next to each other will be perceived as one large litter box by the cats instead of two separate boxes (as shown in the bedroom in one of the videos). Also, the littler boxes need to be cleaned out at least once a day. If they take this suggestion and it doesn't help, the cats may have bladder infections (one of the biggest reasons cats pee outside of the litter box). They may want to take the cats to a vet to get them checked out. Final suggestion - the cats may be reacting to the cigarette smoke in the house (cats have an extremely strong sense of smell). Perhaps if the homeowners went out on the patio to smoke, it may also help the cats to calm down. Love your kindness in helping all the members of the family have a clean, healthy space to live in! 🙂
I agree with the two litter boxes. I had two cats and one would always spray. Nicked that one in the bud right away lol. There’s a spray u can spray on all the places the keep going to to spray to deter them from spraying. Love my kitties but if they kept that up they would have to go!
On the built up grease, I found that spraying it down with Mr Clean and letting it sit a while took the grease off. Just wiped right off. I cleaned an apartment that it had never been cleaned (at least it didn’t look like it) down the sides of the stove and fridge. And those light covers become yellowed with age. Also brittle.

My husband and I did the same thing with our dishes. We only have out the max of what we would use in a day and the rest are packed away in case of company. It works wonderfully!!!

Try the pink stuff with a magic eraser it will help with the deep ingrained stains and is great at making stainless steel shiny
I would use dawn dish liquid as the degreaser for cleaning the light panels, kitchen surfaces, etc. Either squirt directly onto surface or make mixture of dawn/water in spray bottle.

Greased lightning is a real good grease remover. The filter for the stove hood can be sprayed let sit and hot water rinses it all away.

Great and satisfying cleaning job! Wish you could have got behind the room mates door. I will try not to repeat that the litter boxes can go inside large boxes with a U shaped door cut out. The box in a box stops flying litter and looking at poops although they need to be scooped daily or kitty won't use the dirty box. They are clean animals and don't like stepping in their own poop or clumps of pee. That should be on the top of any list. At least every other day!
