Hi gals - Re-sew-lutions are fun! Just a thought for Jenny as you pursue zipper installation. I recommend practicing with water soluble thread. You can install, remove, and re-install the same zipper several times in your scrap fabric. You only need the thread in one place (upper or bobbin) for it to separate. (Just keep the spool and/or bobbin in a plastic bag as humidity can weaken it.)
I got a projector for Christmas and have decided that I need to learn to use before I sew my next pattern. I am giving myself time to tackle it this weekend.
looking forward to finishing the Sewing Garment classes this year. Finished the Woven Shirt and learned so much. I have been sewing 55 years and have been doing so many things incorrectly. Thank you.
Re-"sew".lutions!!! I love it! Yes. Well, with sewing things, I want to teach myself how to draft patterns and how to do alterations correctly. I am very interested in learning more about tailoring, that is a constant interest. Also, I have a gizmo that helps with making double welt pockets that I should get out and use. I also hand-knit. I really love fine gauge knit sweaters, but have absolutely NO interest in trying to knit them by hand. I have two knitting machines that I've yet to tackle..a Bond and a Passap E-6000 (that I got FOR FREE). I think that it's about time I learn how to use them. That's about enough to keep me plenty occupied. Oh yes. Also, eating better, EXERCISING and less screen time. Gotta attend to the basics. Oooh! More reading books, learning piano, drawing, painting.....😉😉
Me too Whitney!!! I'm starting to watch Cheryl Brunettes' videos about working on the Bond machine, and there are several that deal with the Passap. When I (finally) get something worth showing, I'll send an email with the pics....don't hold your breath.😉😉😊😊
I like Re-sew-lotions as well. :) If you're looking for topics, can we get a sew the look for that absolutely adorable jacket Jenni is wearing today? It is fabulous.
I like that resewlutions . I want to advance my sewing skills and work on my pants fitting skills. I’m finishing up a couple of skirts and trying to decide what I want to start next week. I’ve only about 3-5 days to sew before my surgery on the 14. Watch out sewing room when I do feel good enough to sew. In the meantime please keep the videos coming to help me learn more and keep me from going nuts from boredom while I heel.
That is going to be popping up later this month! If you need a hint, go back to the winter RTW looks to sew video. She grabbed a pattern that I recommended there!
Happy New Year! Jenni's jacket is so cute. What pattern is that? Maybe you can do a projector class in the future. I need so many adjustments that I am afraid to try it.
My resewlution for 2024 was to make my first tailored coat and I did it in December yay! This year is to go through all my scraps and use them up to free up space 😊
It’s always fun to watch you two. Jenni, you absolutely can make a button up shirt! My “sew”resolution is to use up fabric in my stash. After an 8 month hiatus due to an eye surgery I’m finally back in the sewing room! I have a travel wardrobe to plan. Italy here I come! 🇮🇹
Exciting times for you two ladies. Thanks for sharing. If weather predictions are correct, we are in for some nasty weather this weekend. Please stay safe and stay warm.
Thanks for another great video! I have some good news for you. While becoming empty nesters is a painful step, you will eventually be gaining adults whom you can enjoy on a whole different level - friends for life!
Great content, very inspiring, I tend to try solve world hunger in my resolutions. My main sewing goal as a new retiree is to make 12 garments (mostly a much needed summer capsule) and 2 quilt tops this year. Dizzy Quilts and sews did her Make 9 for 2024 skills based much like your re-sew-lutions. I see some blending in my planning next week, after my visiting son returns to his adult life in another state. I will also be working on my own healthy aging too! Maybe we all need a sewing yoga video?? My chiropractor would applaud that!
I love that idea to pace things out and have a plan. You know me, I get distracted by fabric and patterns and suddenly I'm veering off course to a whole new plan!
My resolutions are to perfect welt pockets and bound buttonholes and make a well fitting pair of pants. I want to get rid of fabrics that have been marinating in my stash for years and I know I'll never sew and give away patterns for garments that no longer fit my lifestyle.
Good video but Whitney please face and talk to the camera more. I don’t feel you are talking to me but having a lovely two way conversation with your friend.
I really enjoyed your videos in 2024. I bought your knit class and my resewlution is to actually cut into the knit fabric that has been sitting on my cutting board for the last six weeks.

What a great tip! Thank you!!

Use the new software for calibration and it will literally take a few minutes.
Yay! Once you get it figured out, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it!

So glad you found it helpful!

Wow! That should keep you busy at least through mid February! I would love to see those sweaters!

@@kaygee8343I’d LOVE to see them!
You lovely ladies are so much fun and very inspiring.
Thank you!
Those are great re-sew-lutions! Mine are to create a garment every month of the year. No matter if it’s a quick sew or something complicated.
That's a great goal!
I like Re-sew-lotions as well. :) If you're looking for topics, can we get a sew the look for that absolutely adorable jacket Jenni is wearing today? It is fabulous.
Isn't that a fabulous jacket?! I believe it's a thrifted find of hers. We'll have to do some pattern research to see if we can find something similar!

Best of luck with the surgery and I wish you a speedy and uneventful recovery! I'll be posting regularly to keep you entertained!
I am interested to know more about the vest (with black/white striped binding) that Jenny wore in a recent Instagram shot.

Love Jenni’s jacket too. Is there a pattern for it?
Sorry, it's a RTW J Crew jacket that Jenni thrifted. No pattern ☹️

Do you really think you will sew through your stash in just one year? 🤣 It would take me 20!

You too! It's perfect sewing weather!

It's a lot of fun being around these young adults. They have so much energy and passion!

Forecast: ...a happy new year. Thank you for beginning this year with sound inspiration.
I’m happy to share the inspiration!

Love that! Once you get those skills ironed out--watch out!!
You 2 are two much 😅 looking forward to a great year with you both ❤❤
Thanks so much! We can't wait for a great year either!
My re-sew-lution for 2025 is to perfect my pant fitting, so I will have multiple bottom options. 👖 ❤
You can do it!!
❤❤
❤️❤️❤️
